We stayed at the Ace hotel in LA and really enjoyed it. This place was not cool just old. The service at the front desk was very good and professional . The property was clean, the problem is with the city. There is a huge homeless problem. I feel safe walking around Downtown New York,Chicago,LA. I did not feel safe... More

This is my second stay at the Portland Ace, this time with my husband. First, the good. The location is great. The neighborhood has changed a lot and the northern part of the Pearl is completely gentrified, but just near the Ace and west are still interesting. Our room had a view of Powell Books, which is the heart of... More

Really enjoyed my 5 night stay at Ace in Portland. It is so well located for public transit, loads of food and beer options, Powells Books and shopping. I stayed in a Front Standard and it was beautifully decorated and roomy. There were treats for me when I checked in. It was a little noisy but it is downtown so... More

My daughter and I love the Ace Hotel. Our room was reminiscent of European boutique hotels with a main bath down the hall, small and well designed with plenty of art. When we weren't walking or biking to Powell's Books or the Pearl District, we really enjoyed hanging out on the mezzanine with it's endless coffee and treats. The attached bar... More

LOVED, loved, loved the location, the free bikes, the record playing in the hotel rooms, service and the very interesting architectural and design elements everywhere! Was there with 2 teens that thought this was "better than the Ritz". A high bar to beat! Will recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone else visiting Portland. The location was great and the... More

My favorite new hotel chain is ACE; and the Portland Ace is one of my faves in terms of a friendly most hospitable staff, comfortable casual common spaces + good choices for a co-located café and eateries like Stumptown, Clyde Common and Pepe La Moco. ACE Portland is in a great downtown location off the main CBD but near well-known... More

First impressions are fabulous - a beautiful building and many interesting design features, not least the amazing barn door which acts as a window blind in our room. The lobby, with its one large communal table surrounded by couches, sits between a coffee shop and a bar/restaurant, both of which are open to the public, so it's always a hive... More

I am a big fan of funky, quirky, well thought out hotels. I am an interior designer and really appreciate when someone has tried to make it personal and eclectic- to give an experience. So I love all the Ace Hotels. We were there for one night so we chose the cheap rooms- $125 for a room, except you share... More

Spent a long weekend exploring Portland and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ace. It was perfectly located for walking around the city, was surrounded by amazing restaurants and breweries, and was a super comfortable stay!

We staid in one of their on-suite rooms. No view but quiet instead. The room was very functional but well appointed. The building has four floors but only 1 lift, so you either wait for ages or take the stairs.
