Our stay at White Eagle definitely wasn't perfect, but it cost $75 a night during a time when everywhere else we were looking was about $150. Awesome value. The location is also perfect, in a cool and up-and-coming area with lots of breweries etc. nearby (in fact one night we were out walking and everywhere we turned we could smell...

Our group of 6 traveled to Portland for a week in June with our bicycles and booked 3 wonderful rooms. Halls are decorated with 50 years of framed vintage band posters and hand painted poetry and lyrics. Sit around the outdoor wood fire enjoying one of their tastey craft brews and listen to different bands playing folk, blues, and rock...

I happened to land here on a night with no live music. Bar was dead. Hotel rooms are small and only 1 of the two shared bathrooms were able to close properly. After reading other reviews, I think I just landed here on the wrong night. Think I'll give it a try again later on.

My husband and I where only staying one night in Portland on our way down to the Oregon coast from WA State. We stayed here because of its uniqueness and inexpensive prices. We had a good time overall! Happy Hour menu was really reasonable priced! The food was really good especially their French fries! Rooms are super cute and just...

Reading the description online is deceiving! When we went to check in we had to go through the bar which is fine but the girl, who by the way was super sweet, then mentioned the shared restrooms??? Uh I'm too old and spoiled to share a toilet with strangers. I, at first thought, okay a new experience until i walked...

Sitting by the fire pit during my stay, I realized that it didn't matter if I had shown up for the music (I didn't). The spirit that tramples through the White Eagle is worth the experience. It's old, has a gorgeous mahogany bar, and has a long standing history in Portland. Don't show up expecting the Marriott. It's just not...

If you know this group of -shall we say eclectic- hotels then you know the rest of the story. This one is very small, very basic, very affordable, especially for Portland. I like it. I didn't go for the music and I stayed on a Monday night so I can't address the sound comments. Here's what made it work for...

If you want to be close to the max, walk To Mississippi ave and pay an incredibly small account if money (50-70$)to lay your head and rock out to live music at the bar downstairs, this IS IT! This little gem has adorable rooms with sinks and a Euro style shower and toilet facility shared by the other rooms on...

As the title indicates, this was one of my passport weekends. Stayed at 2 different Mcmenamins hotels and enjoyed this one the most mainly because the people in this area were by far the friendliest real people I've come across in my journey. Stayed in room 7 which was at the end of the hallway right above the stage for...
