I really liked the historical feel of the Lion and the Rose. The amenities and food was excellent. It is a great part of town with excellent restaurants in walking distance. They even had some high tech amenities like Echo Dot's in the rooms. I will definitely stay again.

Our second stay at The Lion and The Rose, and the second was just as great as the first. Fabulous rooms, delicious food and teas and great accommodating staff! Will recommend them to anyone! Thank you Dusty and Steve

The Lion and the Rose is a lovingly restored Victorian mansion in Portland. The owners are friendly, and the house and rooms are beautiful. There is some traffic noise if you listen for it, but it's really not obtrusive. Parking is a bit tight, but we managed to find spots on the same block both times we parked.

We had a lovely stay with Dusty and Steve at the Lion and the Rose. A gorgeous Victorian home in a prime location filled with lovely antiques and very well appointed. Generous snacks and breakfast, thick cosy towels and lovely bed linen. Highly recommended along with the great vegetarian restaurant across the street.

At every turn, elegance, beauty and thoughtfulness. A wonderful retreat from the stress of that day. Not often can one stay somewhere, where the thoughts of the day are suddenly melted away by the beauty and awe of its evening surroundings! Fabulous hosts Dusty and Steve, inviting, fully prepared, and informative. They have thought of everything to make ones stay...

This beautifully restored and decorated Victorian home will make you feel like you stepped back into 1890! The owners are avid antique collectors and have stuffed this place with charming and fascinating items. The hosts are warm and welcoming. They sit with guests for breakfast, engage in fun discussions of current events, at the formally set dining table, set with...

We spent the night in the Escapade Room which was super comfy/cozy and quiet. The house is lush with antiques-something new to catch the eye every time we walked through. My only disappointment was that since it was November & considered the off season the breakfast was self serve/continental. The hosts, Steve and Dusty were kind and helpful.

Our stay was inviting with the most cordial, friendly, and down to earth hosts, Steve and Dusty. We enjoyed our spacious room with a comfortable king-sized sleep number bed. We had our own bathroom and a turret that let in tons of light even on a cloudy day. It was delightful to sit in the turret and read when the...

We booked the basement room at the last minute as it was the only one available. It was more like an apartment with our own kitchen, bathroom, laundry and outside entrance. The whole house is decorated in the era and its extremely well done, but comfortable. Steve and Dusty have been at this awhile and its obvious because every detail...
