I'll admit up front that I am a light sleeper. Staying in hotel rooms is difficult because people are not considerate anymore. They keep the TV on loud, stay up late, stomp around on upper floors (like the clubfoot above me did until 2:30am) and generally act like they are the only people on the planet. The walls at Salishan...

Thank you, Sunlemming, for your insightful review. We're sorry that you had a heavy-foot above you. Next time, please do request a top floor in the Spruce or Fairway buildings, golf course views and the Estuary building for sublime bay/ocean views. An Arborist has been thinning trees letting the light flood in. You'll be pleased. Next time you are with...

A sprawling lodging with some fantastic rooms (the upgrade is worth a bay and ocean view alone, never mind the square footage to enjoy the wonderful high ceiling retreat). This a great Oregon conference lodge style stay, with a cool fall albeit wet mini golf course to compliment the grown-ups course adjacent and essentially deserted in the wet season. If...

Dear Leechie01, thank you for that wintery-day chamber of commerce script about the Resort. I agree, a fire, the ocean, comfortable lodging and all is right with the world. We'll have that same environment for a few months, so on your next trip, while-away the day at our Spa or take some tennis lessons. We've got it all right here...

A gorgeous wooded location and beautiful architecture but badly maintained and in need of serious renovation. Room was large but had mismatched furniture and a musty smell. We had to keep the patio door open at all times. Room was cleaned ok but little things like not replacing the soap or cleaning the soapdish show lack of attention. Food in...

Good day Portlandiris and thank you for your observations. In deed, we are in an idyllic location and boast classic mid-century architecture. You'll be very happy to hear that we are going to have a full renovation, focusing on the guestrooms and touching nearly every area of the property. As the new owners/managers of this iconic structure, we know that...

We've stayed at Salishan at least twice a year for many years. It reminds me of my Alaskan roots. Walking the covered paths through the misty cedars from our room to the lodge or wandering the nature trails is an essential part of our experience - and the bonus is our Black Lab can join us (not in the lodge...

What a beautifully written review, Elaine C. Are you a travel-writer? What an honor to remind you of your Alaskan roots and yes, you've discovered the magic of Salishan. You will be happy to know what we are knee-deep into reversing the effects of the towering trees and 'coastal environment', allowing a bit more light and views to the guest...

We stayed in the Eagle unit right off the 18 hole putt course. I was impressed with the view from our room, and our beds were super comfortable. There was a fire place, and a TV. I was a little upset by the lack of Mp 3 player on the clock radio, which the hotel pamphlet said there would be....

Thank you for your thorough response, kelkin2. It sounds as though you did experience most of our Resort. I'll update the MP3 player information to reflect otherwise. Next time, please do experience Salishan Spa to decompress for an afternoon or make an appointment for a work out with our tennis pro. To access our private beach, your guestroom key will...

Stayed here with two adults and three kids in July. We liked the premises, and the kids liked the minigolf course. Peaceful surroundings, the pool was ok. Service left a lot left to be desired, the waiters are in bad need of training, but the kitchen staff seemed very competent, we had several nice meals. So we'd probably go back.

Thank you for the review, Nevberget. We are a great destination for families, away from the distractions of the city. Since you've been in our care, a top-level management company is operating the day-to-day at the Resort and you'll see a remarkable difference in staff attentiveness and knowledge of the Resort. Please come visit us again!
