The Geiser Grand Hotel is a truly beautiful hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful and courteous. The rooms are grand and large and are very comfortable. They managed to retain the spirit of the original hotel while making it comfortable and welcoming. The Masquerade Ball was a great deal of fun with a tarot card reader and medium. The food... More

The Geiser Grand is a classy and well-managed place for dinner and well as overnight accommodations. Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful, with excellent wine suggestions. Service could not be beat. Our room for the night was quite comfortable, clean, and well appointed, This is a unique, very historic and well restored hotel that caters very nicely to guests. The service and... More

Stopped by to have a look to decide if I wanted to stay on my return trip. When I asked to see hotel, the front desk informed me 'we are closed for the privacy of our guests and don't do tours except Fridays and Saturdays for $5.' I wasn't there on a Friday or Saturday. And who heard of charging... More

My wife and I reserved a room through Expedia. We get to the hotel and they would not let us stay unless we paid an extra $20 for the second person. What a ripoff. Will never stay there again! Dishonest. Strange policy.

I also called to make a reservation and then a huge snow storm hit last winter. I called 3 days ahead of my reservation and they would not refund the money. Since I work in the travel industry I know that this is not standard policy. I also do my best to never recommend and caution people not to make... More

It's a lovely old building with lots of original fixtures and fitttings that also manages to provide comfortable luxury. The staff are very friendly and helpful from altering the light level in the bar when we were eating to recommending local sites worth a visit. We had several meals there.. breakfast was so huge we didnt need lunch, dinners were... More

We recently stayed a night at this Grand, old, restored Hotel in downtown Baker City, Oregon on our way home, after a long weekend in Jackson Hole. The room was beautiful, comfortable beds and lovely chandelier. The dinner was top-notch, the wines delicious and breakfast was equally good (especially the genuine biscuits and gravy)! We would and will stay here... More

We stayed for the 3rd and 4th October and had a wonderful time. This hotel is right on the main street of Baker City and is one of those classic hotels that just gets how to greet and treat guests as family members. We were greeted by a staff member who showed us three rooms that would be suitable for... More

Upon checking in, Kevin, at the front desk, offered to show us several other rooms that were available if we were interested. We had originally booked a basic king room. We were so grateful he did as the basic rooms are fairly small once you get a king sized bed in it. We ended up in a parlor suite (313)... More

My stay at the Gieser Grand was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Beds are perfect, and everything worked as expected. The hotel is historic and full of character. Breakfast was very good. If I ever need to stay again in Baker City, I'd definitely choose the Gieser Grand over Best Western any day.
