The room was clean, comfortable and everything in working order. We stayed at the very beginning of the tennis tournament and the sixth floor room was very quiet. Desk help was responsive and friendly. Didn't make five stars due to several weird things about the room: 1) The AC blows directly on you when sleeping (why is this so common in hotels??) 2) There was literally one drawer for clothes, and no desk drawer. 3) The bathroom door was frosted glass that did not dim the light at all. Anyone trying to sleep was bathed in light when the bathroom/shower was in use (and virtually no dampening of sound, so hopefully you're close with your rooomate(s)!) 4) No bathroom exhaust fan. Overall, great value for the price, with First World shortcomings as indicated.
Fantastic stay at the Marriott NE. Was here for the WS Open and they do a great job every year. The staff is very courteous and responsive and the location is great — easy back and forth to the tournament and there are many good places to eat nearby.
We recently experienced a devastating loss in our family and decided to check into a hotel for a few days for a relaxation staycation just to get away from everyone and everything. After a lot of research online we decided on this Marriott based on previous experiences with Marriott properties. When we arrived there was only one maybe two other cars in the entire parking lot. Great! Just what we needed. We went to check in and there was a couple in line in front of us (only one person was working which is understandable due to COVID) The guy at the counter checked in the people in front of us and was walking away from the desk as if my daughter and I weren't standing there waiting. I had to stop him just to check in. That was the first incident. Our plans for this staycation was to just relax and watch movies but couldn't even do that because this (picture) kept popping up on the TV every 5 minutes or so. The maintenance guy came and did nothing. It continued. We dealt with it that first night because by then it was late. They moved us to another room and that television was doing the same but also turning itself off also we were basically told that since we were the only ones having that issue so they couldn't do anything and that we just had to deal with it. The last straw was when the maintenance guy was in our room checking out the TV and the LOCK fell off the room door and he was just going to leave. I asked him to fix the lock and he said "Oh did you want that put back on?"...We are two women in a hotel room and he asked DID WE WANT THE LOCK INSTALLED? At that point I knew it was time to leave. We check out and went to another hotel. I have never had such a bad experience at a Marriott property before now. Very disappointed.…
The Marriott in Mason preparedness and housekeeping cleanliness in regards to COVID-19 was superior and made for a safe and wonderful experience. They even had a cleanable tv remote control. We really loved our room. The entire hotel was recently renovated. Our beds were the most comfortable and the newly renovated shower was the best we have ever experienced. We would come back just for the shower experience. One of the best stays we experienced.
We decided to drive from Columbus to Mason to get away for the night & to enjoy an outdoor pool that was OPEN. I checked in online and the gentlemen at the desk was very friendly. He did explain to us that the restaurant was closed but the lobby would have coffee in the a.m. I was happy to see hand sanitizing stations, social distancing signs for the elevator, & even the pool chairs had tape marks to space them out. Great job Marriott. Room 211 was nicely renovated with the typical super comfy bed and pillows. Very clean with refrigerator and coffee maker. Brixx pizza and Jason's deli are less than a 5 minute walk. Keep it up Marriott! We will be back.
