Detailed Reviews
We've stayed at the hotel a couple of times with a Luxury Escapes deal in a heritage room. Booking, check in & check out was hasslefree, the reception area spacious and bright; and staff welcoming and informative. The bed was very comfortable, the room fresh and well presented. Housekeeping came past each day. A lovely selection of coffee and T2 teas. The bathroom was clean and had great Malin + Goetz amenities. The breakfast was a fantastic selection of hot & cold dishes, superb quality and choice in a beautiful dining space. The mansion itself is wonderfully grand and a delight to explore. Amazing grounds & gardens, of course. The first time we stayed they had cycles to borrow, so we made use of those early one morning, great fun! The next time however, they had no cycles, so slightly disappointing, though reception said they're looking into obtaining more. I hope they do. The first visit, the delicious dinner was an order off the menu ... the next visit they'd had a change of chef, so it was only a set menu, no separate choices. The cafe was sufficient for small snacks, though not outstanding, and a bit overpriced, but the staff were helpful and friendly on our visit. The pool area is lovely, the water a soothing temperature; the change rooms neatly presented and well maintained. The location is a short drive from Werribee centre shops and restaurants, and yet feels quite secluded, especially once all the day visitors depart. However the parking area & immediate outside hotel entrance could do with some attention to detail and tidying up

Staff at reception were very helpful and accomodating. especially Katie and Sheema. Sheema was very personable and chatted with us when possible. As the TV was not working in our room the second night, we were offered the option to change rooms. The atmosphere in the mansion and the surrounding is very pleasant with plenty to do. The breakfast was good except it was very busy on the weekend and there was a very long waiting time for coffee and breakfast, Our room was a bit dark and could do with some good lighting. and the carpets could be cleaned better.. Room service could be better as we had to call a few times to ask for cutlery.

We had a weekend at this amazing property. The staff were amazing, friendly & more than helpful especially when a power blackout took out all of Werribee. They brought lanterns to the room & offered any help they could to make sure we were comfortable. The room was small but comfortable & beautifully presented. Looking forward to staying there again in the future.

We had a large number of family and friends stay at the mansion for 1 – 2 nights for a wedding. We were disappointed with the accommodation, upon arrival there was an issue with our booking despite us calling earlier during the week to confirm. As you can imagine we had a large amount of luggage and boxes to bring, there were no porters, and no one offered to assist us with taking our luggage to the room, we did countless trips to the cars, while the reception staff watched us.
We found the accommodation rooms small, and the bathrooms were dirty. The bathrooms did not appear to have a working fan and therefore the rooms filled with steam, we used our suitcases to prop open the doors. The bathrooms were so dirty in some rooms, those showers / baths were avoided. We found the carpet and other upholstery in the rooms were stained and dirty. We had a number of young families staying who did not wish for their child to play on the carpets. We also found it frustrating when our door keys continued to stop working, even though we followed instructions to keep them away from phones and other cards, there were still issues. We found the staff to be unfriendly, but this may be due to the high number of complaints they receive, which obviously brings down the working culture of the hotel.
As a family we do not mind spending money on accommodation when you see the value, we did not see the value in staying at the mansion and found it to be incredibly expensive. We will not be staying again.

I stayed at the historical Werribee Mansion last Monday and Tuesday 11/01/21 and 12/01/21. Upon arrival at the reception, I could immediately spell paint fumes, as I have a strong allergy to paint. I pointed out to the receptionist that I suffered from an asthma inducing allergy to paint. The receptionist, the one sporting a beard under his mask, assured me that my room was in another wing of the hotel far from the area being painted. However, when I reached my room (301) I discovered that it was, in fact, in close proximity to the area being painted. I later questioned the receptionist but he insisted that the painting was in a different area,
My asthma deteriorated over the two days and I was quite weakened making it increasingly difficult to care for my two young grandchildren. The hotel is huge and I fail to understand why the receptionist did not place me in the farthest wing on the hotel. The hotel website should alert customers to the paint refurbishment prior to booking and reception staff should be better trained in hospitality and accommodating guests needs. I am considering lodging a formal complaint with Consumer Affairs! I would recommend anyone suffering from asthma avoid staying here for the next six months.
On a more positive note, the restaurant staff were exceptionally accommodating of the children’s dietary needs at breakfast. Thank you.

We stayed here as a treat for the family and although it was very expensive we decided to splurge as my husband has a disability and is unwell we thought it would be a nice treat for him .
Well where do I start ! On arriving the car park is gravel and mud and the disabled parking is sitting in water and mud ! To unload your bags you have to do it yourself in gravel and mud as well . The whole foyer was dirty and muddy and the outside windows are dirty with cobwebs. The few staff that they have on are trying their best and were all lovely.
The rooms are a disgrace and we have stayed in bigger better rooms in a 3 star motel ! You cannot move in them and the bathroom is like a public toilet cubicle with stainless Steel sink and sliding door that you can see the other person on the toilet even . We stayed 2 nights and we couldn’t wait to get out of there as the room is so tiny and outdated that we didn’t want to spend anytime in it . On the positive the grounds and the mansion are beautiful . My advice is to drive to the mansion for the day but don’t stay at the hotel . It is very expensive and we all agreed a total waste of money and there is nothing 5 star about it .

The first sign this was not 5 star was when I tried to ring reception to add dinner to our booking only to be told to leave a message and someone would get back to me within 2 days!!!! Hardly good customer service. Purchased a bed and breakfast package with superior room. The ONLY good thing was that the bed was very comfortable but that is all. The rooms was dated and the furniture old, chipped and simply awful. No decent chair to sit on and an odd couch set beside TV so you could not sit on it to watch the TV There was no headboard and the mattress was encased in a box away from the wall. Quite odd. The bathroom reminded me of a public bathroom - all metal, cheap and nasty basin and bench. Wooden Venetian blinds that barely worked and did not keep the morning light out were well past their use by date.Staff mostly helpful. Dinner was excellent but the orange juice served at breakfast was cheap and nasty. Like other guests coffee was NOT included but was never told that. The menu said order one item from each section - no mention that coffee was extra. Our room 226 had a smell of chlorine as did the hallways which needed a good vacuum and the carpet replacing. In a normal year I would spend over 170 nights in hotels and this experience was underwhelming. The property has much potential but needs to be upgraded. Also the room phone had no notations on it so no idea how to ring reception, spa or restaurants.

This hotel promised so much yet fell short in several ways. So much potential in a beautiful setting and gardens.
Didn’t get off to the best start when room access card wouldn’t work. Luckily house keeping were nearby and showed us it was in the wrong way (despite arrow and everything indicating other way). We saw someone else down at reception with the same enquiry.
The rooms are small, very basic and dated. Could definitely do with an update. The only chair in our room was broken so the only place to sit is either in or on the bed.
Bathroom is a weird setup but functional.
TV in the room continually dropped out. Clearly something wrong with the ‘smart’ connection that caused the TV to turn off about every 10-15 minutes... extremely annoying as it had to be restarted and the channel re-selected every time.
Service in Joseph’s restaurant was very ordinary. Couldn’t get our wine refilled for love nor money despite having bought a bottle with dinner!
Had to ask for a refill each time our glass was empty. Waited an hour between entree being finished and main arriving. Again had to ask where our main was and then it took another 15 minutes.
Couples who were seated after us had finished their dessert before our mains arrived.
Food at dinner was nice but service poor and slow. There seemed plenty of staff on, but not sure what they were doing.
We sat on the nice couches in the large reception area and had drinks before dinner but the many small flies drove us mad. Again premium prices for wine by the glass but amenity doesn’t justify this. Unfortunately some of the flies found their way into the restaurant for dinner too.
Scrambled eggs at breakfast were watery and quite possibly the powdered ones you used to get on school camps.
For the premium price you pay for room, dinner and breakfast you expect so much more.
Unfortunately 5 star price for 3 star service and amenities. Could be so much better. It’s the little things that count.

I start with saying the staff are fabulous and extremely helpful ..part of our package was fully cooked breakfast what a joke! It was a very limited breakfast menu and you are charged for any extras ...We were charged $17 extra for bacon (overcooked) and tomato to be added to my order (as per menu) of poached eggs on toast my partner ordered scrambled eggs on toast (as per menu) that is all that was received but the toast was not toasted and not even a sprig of parsley added .. you have a choice of juice or coffee or tea .. if you wanted coffee and juice charged extra ..The only food option in the evening was the in house restaurant with very very limited menu and expensive we enjoyed the first evening but on the second night due to the limited menu had the same entree as first night very disappointing!! But the staff fabulous..We were allocated a supposed to be superior room but so dark only lighting in room were bedside lights but so dim you could not read in bed at night and a desk light and we had a great view of the car park ..after one night we complained and were moved to a junior suite .. fabulous great view light bright and spacious we thank the wonderful staff for arranging the move

Positive note-Beautiful grounds, lovely vogue dinner and great dinner service. Bed was extra large than a king and comfortable once you got adjusted to the mattress. Room size was average and bathroom small. The Mansion was lovely to visit with a self guided tour that we enjoyed. The Rose garden was beautiful too.
On a negative note- complimentary wine arrived late and hot. Chardonnay with no bucket of ice. Glasses were marked with fingertips. bathroom saturated as the fan was not working. shower situated in bathtub and when showering ,,water everywhere. Tv was not working efficiently and kept pixelating.
We had a massive horizontal spotlights shinning into our room all, night and blinds could not cover the light streaming in. Restless sleep!!
Most importantly of all the sanitization of their service at Breakfast was appalling considering we have a Covid situation. Tables were not sanitized between service of customers for the exception of one waitress who did the right thing on one table only.
Our experience for this wedding anniversary (which was not even acknowledged upon arrival ) was not enjoyable at all and will not be returning. PS if you do decide to visit, Do not park your car under their trees as we have a black car and by the next day it was white ! covered with bird poop from top to bottom :-( just what we needed to add to the trip.

We had no issues with unclean linen at all in the spa.
We loved it, so enjoyable and relaxing.
Hi
To our knowledge there isn't a Hair Salon At Werribee Mansion but the suburb of Werribee is quite close and there would be hair salons there.
Dear austriser,
You certainly can by asking Front Desk.
The cost is $20 per person.
Warm regards,
Hi, check in is at 2pm and checkout was at 11.
I believe you can order food up until about 10pm...
As soon as you arrive; I would speak to reception staff and ask them to organise this for you.. It shouldn't be a problem at all...
I would strongly suggest that you eat at the bar at this time; the service is great and the bar staff will be happy to serve your meal to you in your room (room service) or in the beautiful reception area (if you choose)...
Enjoy... Make sure you visit the mansion and take a walk through the gardens!! 🏄
