Zeehan Bush Camp offers the West Coast of Tasmania's first Glamping experience. In addition, we have self contained cabins suitable for singles, couples and families. Zeehan Bush Camp is centrally located to everything on the West Coast of Tasmania. Within a 40 minute drive you can be enjoying the wilderness aboard a cruise on the Gordon River or taking in the breath taking rainforest and rivers systems on the West Coast Wilderness Railway. If walking is your thing there are plenty of tracks to discover among the most popular is the Montezuma Falls walk, a beautiful 3-hour round trip taking you to Tasmania’s tallest single drop falls. See the rugged coastline at Trial or Granville Harbour and immerse yourself in history at Zeehan’s own West Coast Heritage Centre. If you are after some adventure you could join the King River rafting for some action on the rapids. There is something to see around every bend, follow one of the many great itineraries suggested by Western Wilds or meander along creating your own adventure as you go. Zeehan Bush Camp provides a great base to do it all. AS OF MAY 2022 WE NO LONGER OFFER BYO CAMPING OR CARAVAN SERVICES

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It may not be flash as far as Motel or Hotel Accommodation goes, but neither does it pretend to be other than a “Glamping” option. However, in doing so, it also appears to greatly underate itself. Upon arrival, the manager was very warm in his welcoming and provided considerable information ranging from rules of the camp to sights to see in the local area and districts. The cabin contained a very comprehensive guest compendium. It also had four rooms (including the bathroom). Lounge areas contained a sofa (which could also be converted to a bed), table and chairs and a television. Also in the same room was a well-equipped kitchenette complete with complimentary tea/coffee. Two rooms provided sleeping areas, with one having a three-tiered bunk while the other had a double bed along with plenty of storage space and a desk from which to be able to work from. Excellent for families. The bathroom was of sufficient size, as was the shower. It may have looked basic, but it offered everything (and often more) than could be expected from a Motel Unit. Town Centre was located nearby as was Spray Tunnel.

Glamping tent was very comfortable with lots of little things provided such as an umbrella and fire pit including everything to get you going. Heater and split electric blankets on a comfy bed. Facilities were newly refurbished and very clean. Fully equipped camp kitchen with small individual fridge/freezer for each tent and BBQ area with 2 new large BBQs. We didn't but self catering would be easily done. Easy walk to town although supermarket is a fair way. Woke to the sounds of the bush.

Sent 4 nights here and found it to be one of the cleanest and friendliest campsites in Tassie. Ali and Clayton are wonderful hosts and will help you out anyway they can. Great indoor camp kitchen and fireplace for cold spring evenings. A great jumping off base for Montezuma Falls, Trial River and the extensive museum in Zeehan. Loved every minute of our stay

We had 2 nights in a cabin in the park. It was OK - pretty basic - but most things worked, including the wifi and hot water. So that was good. TV reception was a bit more intermittent. The bunk beds are definitely not comfortable for adults. Never seemed to be anyone at reception when we were there, so didn't get to meet our hosts. It seems Zeehan's mining industry is undergoing a bit of a revival at the moment, so accommodation was limited, and expensive for what you get. Location was a bit out of town and nice and quiet.

Response from Ali Collier, Owner at Zeehan Bush Camp
Responded 28 Apr 2022
Hello- thank you for your feedback. We do try and make it very clear on all the booking platforms that the bunks are not really suitable for adults. However some booking platforms do not allow the hotel to write their own information so it is not as clear. Unfortunately we do get our TV from an antenna located near Queenstown so reception can be hit and miss. While we are not always sitting in our office, at the time of your stay we were open from 9.30am to 8.30pm (possibly with the exception of a few minutes here and there if we have to pop out). There is a service bell on the desk that can be used if we are not inside and we will respond.

We loved our glamping stay at Zeehan Bush Camp. The tent is well equipped. The bush kitchen and glamping lounge had everything we needed. There was a great fire pit with outdoor furniture. Lots of hot water in the communal showers. Highly recommended.

Awesome campsite - the best camp kitchen set up we have ever seen in ant state - fabulous young family run this place. But the whole west coast is Tassie is suffering from lack of tourism - these giys really deserve local and interstate support.

We only stayed at Zeehan Bush Camp because another campsite had “lost” our booking. So lucky for us. The site is well away from passing traffic so really quiet. The highlight for us was their camp kitchen - well supplied with everything but most importantly there was a beautiful fire that was such a treat. Outside it was a chilly 8 deg and a blustery wind. The owners have set it up really well and work hard to maintain everything in excellent condition.

Wow, what an absolute treasure of a find, stayed here for a friends 50th Birthday Celebration. The camp manager was friendly, happy and informative. The Glamping tents were roomy, comfortable and well maintained. Showers and toilets very clean. It really was a beautiful spot.

we had a wonderful 2 nights at the Bush Camp. At check-in we had a guided tour from Clayton, with helpful local hints and tips. the tent was roomy, clean, and with the firewood, matches, kindling all set up neatly - all ready to go. perfect. the showers/toilets were clean and well lit, the camp kitchen very clean and all pots/pans you could need. the tent had a heater already switched on upon arrival which took the edge off the chill, and the electric blanket sorted any overnight chills. sure, there are workers in the cabins about 80m away - but we didnt hear a thing as they got up early for work. highly recommended.

Whatever you think you might need they have thought about it, we had a lovely time sitting by the fire (wood is ready for you when you get there). The park in itself is beautiful, showers are clean, kitchen well setup. you might encounter quite a few wallabies if getting up at night, and the sound of the birds in the morning is fantastic.
