As far as motel goes this is very good, checkin very quick, friendly and room nice size with very well maintained.

Room has a fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave so great if you have your own supplies

Bathroom clean with toiletries provided only issue with shower was getting a warm temperature it was either very hot or cold for awhile after about 3 - 5 minutes it came good to a warm temperature.

Would recommend this motel and happy to stay again if occasion arrived.

Centrally located. The rooms were clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Ease of a supermarket close by to grab some supplies and head back to the room.
Great for families.
Thank you to the team at B&F we had a very comfortable stay.

We highly recommend and will be back!

I originally stayed at this motel four years ago when i was touring Tasmania and was happy to return this year. It continues to be a high quality motel with large, clean and comfortable rooms as I would expect from a Best Western property. The proprietor gave me wifi access free of charge although there is usually (and now perhaps surprisingly) a charge. Unfortunately, the on-site restaurant was closed as I was there on a Sunday and Australia Day.

Basically a truck stop, in fact the night we stayed there was a prime mover taking up most of the front restuarant car park, thats if you can call it a restuarant, large meeting room would be a better description. Meals were very basic. Rooms are small brick boxes, and dirty, the manger is overweight but under concerned with customer comfort. Its on a very busy road so good access to surrounding areas but very noisy, 1 star would be a good description.

The highlight of this one-night stay was the generosity shown by the managers when we arrived without luggage from Devonport. They went to some lengths to find and provide all the basic toiletries etc that luggageless QANTAS passengers will miss that night and the next day - and all at no charge (that's a level of service I don't encounter often).
The motel is mid-range quality - pretty much what we expect of Best Western - spacious enough, reasonably comfortable, well appointed with crockey, cutlery etc and spare blankets, pillows etc., and clean.
At night you can get a bit of noise (hum) from the nearby Bass Highway, although the property is quite a distance from it - not a problem if the windows are closed, or if you are used to it.
Ulverstone is not everyone's chosen destination - in between Devonport and Burnie, both of which can have more to offer in town. But if you are there, then you have your own transport, and those other towns are within easy reach on good roads, as are some of the best features of the lovely Cradle Coast.
I didn't make use of the on-site restaurant, but it seems to serve as a local 'watering hole' and can get busy in the evening.
So if you want an economical stay on the Cradle Coast with some very helpful resident managers, who obviously care about the property and their clientele, then this is a good option.

This hotel gives itself a three star rating but it is worth about one and a half. The person who describes himself as the manager is unfriendly and unhelpful. Although I had a pre-paid internet booking he had no knowledge of this, and less interest. The rooms are bare brick boxes with hose-down carpet tiles, ugly furniture and the most basic fittings. The coffee cups were dirty and the overhead light in the room did not workk, nor did the bathroom light. The hotel has a coin operated laundry but after inserting three dollars worth of coins I was informed the dryer did not work. There is no internet access. The rooms have very thin walls and open onto the parkling lot, so they are incredibly noisy. At 8 am the hotel manager banged on the door repeatedly and although I asked what he wanted he did not stop until I opened it. He said he wanted to warn me that some drilling was about to start on the walls of the room next door. Then began such a phenomenal din that I packed my wet laundry and left immediately. The people who run this hotel appear to have no concern for the customers or for the standards of the premises. I recommend avoidng this hotel. Anywhere else would be better than the Best Western Bass and Flinders, Ulverstone.

Stayed at the Bass and Flinders on our recent trip around Tasmania and found it a great spot to be close to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry and the perfect place to stay for a few days to explore the Cradle area which is just spectacular. Our room was spotlessly clean, modern and roomy. The new owner was friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant was great and very affordable. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip. Thanks Bass and Flinders - a great stay.

Good inn with a nice pool that can even be used during winter time. The rooms are clean and quite functional, food is also pretty good. Location is easy to reach and just perfect if you are planning a road trip around Tasmania, nothing else to add, good quality overall as can be expected from a Best Western.
