Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quick pitstop on our Tassy roadtrip. Didn't realize until afterwards that there free washer/dryer & detergent! Amazing. Staff was friendly, and quick to respond to some inquiries via email. Dated hotel, but as are most in Tasmania. Was chilly, and the heater worked great, and came with heated blankets. Nice place to stay

Second time I’ve stayed at the Waterloo inn, and will absolutely be back again. As with my first stay, they were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. My friend and I travel with our guide dogs and the staff are always lovely. They even offered us bedding and bowls for the dogs this time. My friend also left her toiletry bag behind and they called to tell us and express posted it to her. Once again thank you for an excellent stay. Karen

For a week-day Lunch, Waterloo Restaurant in Swansea absolutely shines. We shared small plates of creatively prepared, locally sourced seafood, perfectly cooked root vegetables - dressed with Zac’s amazing sauces. Sitting outside, by the sea in the calm, Autumn sunshine - it was another delightful Waterloo Lunch. So lovely thanks guys!

Don’t be put off by the exterior, the Waterloo Inn Restaurant is definitely worth a visit! The food was absolutely delicious, and the menu changes daily. We loved it so much we tried to rebook for the following night, unfortunately they were closed! Fantastic experience, run by a lovely couple, would absolutely recommend.

Amazing retro restaurant! Food was excellent! We had the Crayfish doughnuts, kingfish, black caviar dip salt baked blue eye with summer vegetables! The ambiance is fabulous with music taking you back in time like the best 60s and 70s ! The staff are extremely welcoming! Best meal in Tassie ! Highly recommended

We had a large room with bay view - very clean and comfortable - comfortable bed. Checkin was quick and easy, staff were helpful and polite and offered suggestions for dinner plans. Was quiet but wifi was a bit hit and miss.

Older style motel, but everything was very clean, great showers, comfy beds. Staff were very helpful, with lots of great suggestions of things to do. Views were superb, and lots of great local walks. Dinner in the restaurant was good, lots a choice on the menu. Definitely recommend

It's a standard motel, old, simple but not worth the premium price. We paid $420 for two nights because we have lost money on bookings recently so needed full refund for late cancellation in case the Covid restrictions changed, again. We were checked in by the eponymous "Mother In Law" who tolerated our presence rather than welcoming us. We didn't eat at the bistro, we were put off by the Pool Table by the door, the laminex tables and the laconic attitude of the "chef".. I can't recommend this place, I would stay elsewhere if you can find somewhere. It has a view of the bay, but everywhere in Swansea does.
