Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the James Kelly loft. The room was very spacious and cosy to stay in. Bathroom was nice and big with a good size spa. Shower over the spa.
Room had a microwave and small fridge which was handy to have along with dinner plates, bowls, coffee cups and cutlery.
A kitchen sink, oven and stove would be great to have in the room as that would have topped off the room just nicely.
We arrived to our room with the key in the door so no need to check in as the owner sends you a text message prior to you arriving.
There is a onsite guest laundry to use but only one washing machine and 2 dryers. Free to use.

Pros-
very comfy bed
Nice and clean
Family unit was fairly spacious
Quiet ish

Cons-
Kitchenette is not really a Kitchenette just a bar fridge and a microwave with crockery and cutlery. Only 3 bowls for 4 people.
Fire pit right out side the unit ... right outside the door of where the kids were trying to and people sitting around talking until midnight
Blinds in second bedroom were 25mm to short either end so let streams of light in ... not good when trying to get kids to bed.

The thing that I was most Cross about
Room wasn’t serviced on our second day. Left at 7:30, got back at 5 to find the room hadn’t been done and we had no clean dry towels. For $285 clean towels are a minimum requirement!
Very disappointing and definitely not value for money.

We stayed in the loft and it was comfortable and there were great views from the balcony. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen facilities were adequate and the bathroom was nice, the spa bath worked well.

This lovely hotel is only a short stroll around the waterfront to the Gordon Ferries and pubs. Perched on the hill, the views over Strahan are beautiful and the rooms are exceptionally good value - clean, quiet and well appointed. There is a laundry (complimentary), and the staff are lovely and very helpful. The only thing missing was easily accessible WIFI, but at the price we paid (for a family of 4) it was very easily overlooked!

We stayed 2 nights here. The breakfast basket was probably enough for 2 mornings not just one. But was worth it we thought for the ease of not having to go get food. There was a small stove and enough things to cook with if you wanted to bring your own food. The views of the harbour from room 5 was magnificent. The bed was real comfy and the rooms were very clean. I just loved "My name is rag" smaller pieces of older towels to clean boots or makeup or anything else that you wanted to wipe so that you do not ruin the good towels for the next person. ( a must for all hotels, motor bike rider would love it)
Make sure you say hello to the gentle giant Atlas who is super friendly.
Thank you for a great stay

We were really impressed with our stay here. Great communication from our hosts re key collection as we arrived late after a long drive. The chalet was immaculate with the next two days breakfast and snacks awaiting us in its own fully equipped kitchen. The late afternoon sun was streaming in the large doors overlooking Macquarie Harbour. There is a flat 15 minute walk into town which was a great way to walk off dinner. As it’s a chalet, bedrooms are upstairs whilst the bathroom is downstairs.

Had a brilliant stay in the James Kelly Loft with our Furbaby. Every need was thoughtfully catered for and the view was gorgeous from our balcony, which included a plumbed-in BBQ. A selection of cereals, snacks and muffins were on offer as well as treats, toys and a bed for our Pup!
Great bathroom with Spa bath and awesome water pressure and then a divine bed to sleep in. Combined with the great winter weather we had, a perfect stay!

Great location, however, the room had a mouldy smell, floors could have done with a good clean as well as the bathroom. The shower curtains had black hair which indicated that they hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival.
The room was not serviced during our 3 day stay. A little disappointing

We booked this hotel through Wotif but the hotel cancelled on us at 2.15pm. We were just about to check in and had travelled 3.5 hours from Marrawah. They booked us into the local caravan park instead (at our cost)... which was by no means equivalent accommodation. They also said they would arrange the refund through Wotif, but I just spent half an hour on the phone with Wotif to sort this - and they had not heard from the hotel! Very poor customer service, would not recommend.
