We had a 2 night stay in Strahan to visit the local attractions. Our stay at Mcintosh cottages was very comfortable. The place is charming with all the modern conveniences includes. Quiet location easily accessible. Real nice fireplace well stocked with timber.

Our initial impression was a quaint cottage, the smelt very musty. The bedroom was by far the best room. While the kitchen was well equipped, we discovered that the stove didn't work after buying food to cook. While a contact mobile number was provided, this was of little use because only one provider (Telstra) has coverage. An emergency contact address...

We have travelled quite a lot and this is the first place we have ever considered just leaving and paying for some where else instead. We stayed in the two bedroom side, which faces South onto the road. Although we stayed in summer, we found it to be freezing cold and so, so dark (with a damp smell). It seemed...

We loved Strahan, such a quaint town, with lots to see and do. As a base to enjoy the region, the cottage was adequate, but needs some extra care, and money spent to bring it to the standard of all other accommodation we stayed at around Tasmania. Plates were dirty, the freezer frozen over and we had to push a...

The beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked with cooking gear. I must admit I was a bit put off by the dank smell and it took some burning of scented candles and a serious fire to make it smell better. Nowhere to put groceries so the bags lined the hall but otherwise all good!

We loved staying here. Nice old fashioned cottage and furnishings. Comfortable and plenty of room. Nice fireplace, comfortable lounge, good beds to sleep in. The king size bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. We had great service with flexible timing offered due to access problems after snow falls. Highly recommended.

We found it very tired and dusty. We know old places can be dusty but we have stayed at many similar cottages in Tasmania on our travels on numerous occasions but never had this problem. We all had the sniffles by the time we left. You class this as 4 Star. The kitchen facilities were not up to standard to...

My partner was quite apprehensive about staying here after reading some of the previous reviews which weren't really positive. We stayed in the one bedroom cottage (at the back of the building) and were pleasantly surprised, the lawn and garden are a little untidy but not a jungle but the blackberry does need to be addressed. The cottage is quite...

We stayed in the one-bedroom cottage, and found it comfortable and good value for money. It's a slightly odd setup - no on-site manager, just the key left in the door and a welcome note. The cottage is an old building, but well-equipped and furnished, and the kitchen and bathroom were clean. However the place could use a bit more...
