Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Upon arriving at Glenaire Apartments, we were made very welcome by our host Michelle.
I took my Nan, who is 84 and a friend with her child and my child. Nan hadn't been to Strahan for 40 Years, and she loved it.
We had a unit that had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It had full kitchen, washing machine everything we required really. Beautiful floorboards thru out. We stayed in late June and it was very warm and comfortable.
The unit isn't very old and sleeps up to six people. it had 2 doubles and 2 single beds.
Rates are very reasonable also. around $140 double.
Great for families. i would stay there again in a flash !
We also went on the gordon river cruise on World Heritage Cruises and had an excellent day the weather was so still. beautiful sunny day for the end of june. Food on the cruise was of a very high standard also.

We stayed in the Pontifex Street units as our first choice with the harbour views was fully booked. Although there were no views, these apartments were extremely comfortable and only a few minutes from the centre of town one way & a good IGA store the other.

A very comfortable double bed, spacious lounge and modern shower room. Washing facilities were available in the bathroom also, so no need for the laundromat. This accommodation would be suitable for both overnight and longer term holidays. Very reasonably priced as well.

There is no Optus reception in this area so no phone or internet. I guess there would be Telstra but not sure. At time of writing here are two units in this complex with a third on the way.

We didn't get to meet our hosts unfortunately but the Glenaire apartment we stayed in was fantastic. Clean, comfy with all amenities that you could need. the front garden needed a bit of a tidy up but couldn't complain about the unit. It was quiet, not really in walking distance of the town but that wasn't a problem.

We have been staying in self contained accomodation around Tasmania. Glenaire Apartments is by far the worst place we have stayed. The apartment did not look appealing from the outside, and was untidy. When we got inside we thought it was small, especially considering it is supposed to suit 6 people. Most of the beds were uncomfortable, and unfortunately we had to pick hair and debris off the sheets before we crawled into bed. The drinking glasses needed washing before use, and the flors were dirty. I swept upon arrival and cleaned up a huge amount of dust and debris. We won't be staying here again.

I had made a booking to stay two nights for two couples.. My email response had stated that the key would be in the door as I had told the lady we would not be arriving till late afternoon from Cradle Mtn. When we found the house (it was not well located and a fair distance from the main harbour area), there was no key in the door.I immediately suspected problems.
I rang the contact number but the woman had no record of my booking and that house was not available for two nights. "I've been have a few laptop problems". She offered us another one of her houses - a bit ordinary and one bathroom. She was not really interested in our problem. "If you drive around you should find something else" Fortunately the caravan park had two cabins. Good spot and a lot cheaper.

Having stayed in self-contained accommodations all over Tasmania, I can honestly say this was the low point of our trip in terms of hotels.

The location is about a 10 minute drive from the dock (the boat cruise is the big attraction in Strahan). Not convenient, but not too far out of the way.

All in all, the place was just not comfortable.  Yes, there's a washing machine, but there aren't clothespins to hang things. Yes, there's a kitchen, but no salt & pepper (everywhere else we stayed provided these  basics.) Yes, there's a porch, but there are thorned bushes growing up between the boards and broken patio chairs in unkempt grass. There is tupperware to take your food on a picnic, but it's  been gnawed by an animal and broken and the lids don't fit. I don't know how else to describe it: It looks like they took crap from their house in a half-hearted attempt to furnish this place.

At first glance it is clean enough, but while preparing a meal I found ants, and while tucking my kids in I found the blankets dirty.

Essentially, this is a double-wide trailer on the side of someone's driveway. With some effort and attention to detail it could be nice, but as it is, I would not return.

What an amazing place to stay. Wonderful clean and new accommodation in a studio.
Just right for a couple. There is a couch and a table for two. Lovely owner who could not do enough for us.We recommend the "Huon" studio. As it is a studio we packed one bag out of our two big suitcases - so we had plenty of room. We had such a great time we stayed two nights. Thank you Michelle, we will come again. Marilyn and Graeme from Queensland.

The unit we stayed in was called Blackwood, everything was clean well presented and the unit was very comfortable for our 6 night stay. Location is good with great views of the bay and Regatta Point, it is ideally located for a quiet rest but close to all facilities in the town. Loved it and would definitely revisit given the opportunity.

On our last two nights in tassie stayed in strahan with the wife and children. Rooms were clean and comfortable and situated in a nice quite area of town, Apon arival was greated by the owners and they seamed like good honest down to earth folk , and was even invited to one of their family BBQ that night that made us feel very welcome to their part of the state .we were treated to some of their own local seafood and had a lovely night and will most definatly will return and as we were made very welcome and had a great stay in strahan .

We couldn't understand some of the negative comments about Glenaire.

We recently had the pleasure of staying with hosts Flash and Michelle in two of there units which were together. One being three bedroom and the other one bedroom units, they we're clean , we'll equipped for cooking, sleeping and sitting out on the private decks on units for a bit of R & R .

The units were well priced and Flash and Michelle bent over backwards to help us with anything we needed while the ten of us were staying there on our family holiday , we can't thank you guys enough for our stay and we will definitely be coming back and will have no problems with highly recommending Glenaire Appartments Strahan
