I stayed here for 4 nights on a trip around the west coast. I got it on a great price with free continental breakfast included (generous breakfast provision- muesli, weetbix, cornflakes, milk, jams, butter, honey, vegemite, loaf of bread). Owner is friendly and check in/ out was easy. Room is clean and spacious and looks the same as when I stayed 5 years ago which meant they’ve maintained it well. There’s shared laundry available (dry/wash) at $3/load but I didn’t need to use it. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to others.

We stayed in Motel Strahan for 3 nights, for the price the accommodation is good. We had a standard room which comprised of a king bed and a single bed. The room was large and comfortable. Cutlery and crockery, tea, coffee, a toaster and kettle were supplied. The shower was a bath/shower combination and had great water pressure and was nice and hot. The room also had a table and 2 chairs which is a bonus for a motel room. From our motel it was a 15 minute flat walk to the Gordon River Cruises, saves trying to find a car park.. There is a local IGA store close by and they have the best tasting BBQ chickens......We really enjoyed the Hogarth Falls in Strahan. The trail is an easy 20 minutes walk and the view of the falls is spectacular....especially when it rains. The downside of the Motel is that our room was a bit tired looking, definitely needed new carpet and a bit of a clean up would be a good idea.

This is a 70's style motel and the rooms are showing their age. Our room was clean, but overdue for an update. There were no cooking facilities, other than an electric kettle. There was tea & coffee supplied. The local IGA was well stocked with cold meats, salads and so on, so we were able to " self cater ' to some extent. The bathroom was interesting, with the shower over the bath and a tiny shower screen The floor got wet no matter how careful we were. It made getting in and out a bit difficult for us of more mature years. One major downside is that there are no dishwashing facilities in the kitchen area. All plates, cutlery, coffee mugs etc need to be washed in the bathroom hand basin. Not ideal for hygiene reasons, if nothing else. The staff were friendly, as was their big dog which helped dad doing the cleaning. The location is very close to the centre of town, about a 2 minute drive away. There is an on-site laundry. A reasonable budget motel needing an update.

On first impressions, the motel looked a bit rundown. Our room, however, was a pleasant surprise.

It was nicely decorated and even had a white orchid as an indoor plant. It opened onto a small garden at the rear with just enough room for a small table and two chairs.

The beds were comfortable, and we slept well. The heater worked well, too.

A continental breakfast, included in the price, had whole-wheat bread, cereal and milk. There was a toaster but no microwave oven. The cupboards had a wide range of plates and other times.

It is slightly out of town compared to some alternatives, but no problem if you have a car. I noticed some walking into town – maybe a 15-minute walk.

The staff were friendly and very helpful with advice.

I enjoyed my overnight stay. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. The motel is in a good position, just a short drive from the Macquarie Harbour /Gordon River cruises. A bonus for me was the in-house laundry which was available 24/7. Much appreciated having walked at Cradle Mountain for 2 days and having hiking clothes to wash. The staff were very helpful..

We used a twin room here for two nights whilst on a tour around Tasmania.

Our room was well-kept and meant we slept well. Likewise, the bathroom was clean and equipped with a good shower.

Breakfast was left for us, including bread for toast, as well as cereal, plus tea/coffee and juice.

We enjoyed our stay, including the largely coastal walk into the centre of Strahan.

My wife and I plus 2 friends stayed 2 nights here. The Rooms are comfortable and are large enough with good beds and shower. Richard is very helpful for suggestions of places to go etc. We also used the laundry @ $6.00 to wash and dry clothes was handy and good value. The motel appeared to be popular with most rooms taken on our 2nd night.
Thanks
Mike L.

Rooms are basic, it is a motel, but they are clean and functional. The motel is conveniently located and the staff was very nice and helpful when we arrived and that was all we needed. Noise Insulation between the rooms could be better, but I would have no issues going back there.

We only stayed one night. The room was clean and functional. There was a spa bath, which added an option. The bed was huge. Breakfast in a basket was basic. The $95 charge in the T’Advisor site was misleading as it then became US dollars not $A. Conveniently located.

We stayed here for two nights during a holiday in Tasmania. The motel itself is nothing fancy from the outside, but the rooms are comfortably furnished in modern decor, with a few small touches like a coffee pod machine, ground coffee and real milk in the fridge.
The bathroom worked, but need d a bit of attention to fix a few bits and pieces - loose toilet roll holder, shower head not properly fixed and an inadequate shower screen.
In the room, the vertical drapes over the door to a small outdoor sitting area were inadequate. When you lay in bed, there was a 5cm gap on the side, through which a street light cast light on the pillows. The room was very bright and I had t wear an eye mask to sleep.
Apart from these small niggles, it would be disingenuous to be too critical. It’s just a nice, small motel in a remote country community that’s about right for the price point.
It’s a short drive to the town centre, or about a 10 minute walk along a very good and picturesque pathway. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
