Touchwood cafe & gallery owned & operated by Gretta & Chris is outstanding in every aspect. Their attention to detail, hospitality & quality of their food is worthy of 5 stars. If you want fast food that is mass produced forget it. If however you are wanting quality food from a boutique cafe, then look no further. The gallery showcases...

We stayed at Touchwood Cottages for 1 night in February and wished we had stayed more nights: The Studio Cottage was so beautiful and amazingly clean, with all our Breakfast supplies in the Fridge in the large kitchen, there was also a huge Bathroom, sitting room with 2 leather recliners and a large bedroom. The decor and detail was amazing...

We had just one night in this perfect hideaway. The hosts were very helpful and the cottage was stacked with more than you could possibly expect or want. We devoured the chocolates and port, enjoyed the home made jams and cooked up a beautiful breakfast with what was provided. The cottage has a spectacular view out over the water and...

This was our last stop on a two week trip around Tasmania, and boy it was the perfect ending for our travels. The two bedrooms are perfect size and while we were travelling with our children, it would be great for 4 adults too. It is in the middle of town, walking distance to everything, but at the back of...

We stayed in this generous sized old world cottage for 1 night. Absolutely beautiful. Really clean with everything required. A lovely view over town & the bay. The owners were delightful & could not be more generous with there time. The breakfast was also really generous for two people we had no chance of eating everything provided. Great location to...

A well appointed self contained cottage. Our hosts Chris and Gretta treated us like old friends. The cottage was stocked with breakfast goodies were warm, comfy, very clean with old world charm. The cost was very reasonable. If you visit Stanley make sure you give Touchwood Cottages a go. You will not be disappointed.

The thing with Stanley, on the far flung northwest coast of Tasmania, is that it's spoilt for accommodation. The other thing is, there's only one place to stay. Touchwood Cottages, in the heart of the town. Becoming a part of the local community, if only for the three days, became part of us, as my old friend CJ and I...

The long two hour drive west from the Mackay Airport has given us time to recall the best bits of our Tassy holiday on the way home. Our stop over at the quaint Touchwood Cottages nestled at the base of the Nut in the seaside historical township of Stanley was a favourite highlight of our six days in Tasmania. We...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Looking for a breath of fresh air? If so, you can't beat the quaint little seaside village of Stanley on Tasmania's North West Coast. With its whistling wind and gorgeous countryside, Stanley is the ideal base for exploring all the natural beauty and attractions the region has to offer. Noted for its friendliness and warm hospitality Touchwood Cottages are situated in the heart of Stanley and are the perfect place to relax and unwind. There is an excellent cafe on-site using an abundance of local fresh produce open six days of the week and some evenings. A design Gallery and gift shop, choc full of Tasmanian product, complete the small complex which, with its cobble stone walkways and old street lamps, is reminiscent of an English scene! All three cottages are 4 star rated and decorated in a colonial style blended with modern touches. They are well appointed, full of character and charm and extremely comfortable. All are fully self-contained. We are located within a stone's throw of the beaches, eateries, attractions & shops. Hearty breakfast supplies, a fresh fruit bowl and chocolates with port are included in your tariff. ... more   less
