We stayed in a lovely self-contained cottage overlooking the nearby bay. It was idyllic. The cottage contained almost everything that we needed for our two days. The only thing missing was laundry facilities, which were in the main house just a few steps away. An outstanding place in a gorgeous setting.
This residence is amazing and so beautiful. I had the upstairs bedroom/ suite Amy Belle. The french doors opened to a balcony with the most impressive views of the beach and surrounds. Matt the host was simply lovely and gave great advice on where to go and where to dine. A++ Bed was very comfortable, room spotlessly clean and so homey. The location is so central to walk to Godfrey beach, The Stanley Nut and different shops. Highly recommend. Perfect for couples and families.
Lovely visit. Beds super comfortable, great hosts, great location. We only stayed 1 night as had a full itinerary and had to change days but Matt was super flexible with adjusting our day and was very happy with the stay. Would recommend to others.
We only spent 1 night here in this lovely home. We will be back! Matt was so welcoming, the room was lovely and comfortable, it was like being in your family home. Breakfast was delicious, cooked by Matt, sit around the dinning room, chatting with Matt and other guests, thoroughly enjoyable!! Just a short stroll to the beautiful Nut and town.
On arrival, we searched around for access, although Host was present up stairs, didn't bother to greet us, on asking about Breakfast we were met with a very rude reply, "Read the Fine Print" nothing offered, despite advertising B&B& charging for same, (& all other B&Bs on West Coast, venues offering a basic Continental.) If the Owner is aware of this response to "Guests" I really wonder how they stay in business. Will never return and advise all we know to stay clear.
We stayed in the Bungalow for one night, which was clean and cosy, if not classy, with a convenient kitchenette, excellent shower and comfortable bed. My friend particularly appreciated how finely crafted the wooden walls were in the room. The TV and selection of DVDs were convenient and the ocean view was beautiful. Our only disappointment with our stay was that, shortly after settling into our room, the hostess, Allanah, appologised to us, quite profusely, that due to Covid, they would be unable to serve us breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was the main reason why I chose a Bed and Breakfast over alternative accommodation, and as the booking confirmation email was ambiguous, I specifically contacted the owners two weeks prior to the trip to confirm whether or not breakfast was part of the deal. Covid rules have not tightened in Tasmania for at least the past six months and if social distancing was a problem in the dining room, then surely breakfast sittings could have been staggered. We even offered to eat their breakfast in our room, but this was apparently not possible. Allanah suggested alternative venues in town in which to have breakfast, but our 'Tasmanian Travel Voucher' is not valid for use in cafes outside of hotels. I do feel sorry for the tourism industry which is struggling due to border closures, but expect honesty when telling patrons that they provide a Bed and Breakfast service.…
My sister and I stayed here for 1 night and found the owners very friendly and easy to get along with. The room was very clean and had a wonderful cosy feel. The outside verandah provided a wonderful view of Godfrey's Beach. Nice quiet location and walking distance to shops. Would definitely stay again!
We stayed in a self contained bungalow for 2 nights. Very comfortable & furnishing showed a touch of class & thoughts. Free wifi was v. fast too. Very convenient location for walking access to village & the Nut! However, the need to take shoes off before entering room due to lots of Wallaby droppings in yard, was a bit tiresome. Not sure if situation will improve if they fence it up. Otherwise still good value for money
Matt, the Manager, met us on arrival. Couldnt have been more helpful. Carried our bags upstairs to the 2 bedroom apartment. Very comfortable, Took the trouble to sit with us, advise us of the sightseeing and suggest driving routes around the beautiful Arthur River area. Stanley is not a big place and Matt's advice was very handy. He arranged dining bookings for us, Would certainly stay there again and fully recommend it.
Stayed as a family in January 2021. Excellent host, non-intrusive and very helpful. Super clean everywhere. Able to use the full kitchen. Balcony view is awesome with sitting areas facing the ocean. Short stroll to the penguin viewing area and to town restaurants. Must see the local cemetery and the church is next door. The Nut is also across the street.
