Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Room hadn't been cleaned at all. The shower was mouldy. The shower door didnt shut. The bathroom sink was filthy and leaked. There were ants in the light above the bed and we noticed they were falling onto the bed. The windows were filthy with dirt ants and spiders. The fly screen was broken. The fridge hadn't been cleaned, there was dirt and left over bits of food in it. The door mat in side the door was dirty. There was a wire with a plug hanging out of the ceiling which we assumed was where the smoke alarm should be, as there wasnt one Also I booked a cabin and we were given a Hotel Room as they called it.

Nice park, good location. But very disappointed they called us after paying and asked for more money. They said they had changed owners when in actual fact they became a big4 and had to change more. Shocked as we had already paid and they just said “pay more or go elsewhere”. It is not up to BIG4 standard at all. Good location but it is cheaper at golf course. Thumbs up if helpful.

Very disappointed in our stay, we had to have a no powered site which was fine as they were very busy, but we never noticed till we had checked in and paid $45 for no power that we were in the Emergency area that people need to go to, in a emergency, there were other people there also in tents and cars I don’t know what would have happened , if there was a emergency There were two large Gumtree that people were sleeping under in tents, which was very dangerous, not sure what the council would think about this or the Insurance company if there was a accident with one of the trees, I know they are trying to cash in on the season, but not at the cost of someone's life

We were disappointed in our stay, we have stayed here numerous times over the years but this will likely be our last. Christmas Day there was no Christmas spirit, piles of dirty bath mats and hardly any toilet paper. The new owners have put the price way up and the atmosphere has gone way down. They would be better to upgrade the camp kitchen ovens than do pancake breakfasts. On a positive the wonderful people in permanent Site 26 took our grandson fishing in their boat and on the jet ski, they were so welcoming and helpful, a real asset to the park as were the other permanents we met.

The room I had needs work and for I understand is that Big 4 are fixing the park up. The lady in the office (Rosie) was such a big help for me when I had an issue with my hire car. Rosey went out of her way to help me resolve the issue. For such a small town it gets busy.

Room Tip: The staff from the shop out the front are good, the local pub is good for a cold beer or six.

Exceptional location only 400m walk to Stanley CBD. Watch the penguins come in along the break wall each night around 7pm when we were here in September. Spectacular sight to witness. It’s a great place to base yourself for a few days to explore the Tarkine region. Since leaving Devonport, this caravan park was the best park we’ve stayed in by far along the whole north-west coast of Tasmania. The park has great newly renovated amenities, and fantastic camp kitchen facilities. We had a great deal, book 3 nights pay for 2 costing a total of $90 for three nights for a powered site.

We too have been hit by the greed of the new owners. We booked in May this year for a family wedding in November as the accommodation is walking distance to the wedding. I was rung a week ago by the new owners to be told my booking had gone up over $200 for a 4 night stay... They refused to honour the original price but lucky for me i had booked through booking.com and they sorted new accommodation for us as i refused to give them a cent more than agreed upon and cancelled the booking. Not a great start for a new business.

We booked two cabins for February 2024 and offered to pay a deposit. We were told "no deposit required". Weeks later we received a call from Big 4 saying they had taken over the park. The manager assured me that they had our booking and everything was fine. Then we get a bill from Big 4, and the cabin price has increased by THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS PER NIGHT. We asked them to please honour the booked price. They refused. This is poor form Big 4 ... especially since the original price is still available on WOTIF. No more Big 4 for us, we found cheaper and nicer accommodation elsewhere.

This park has now changed hands. Last month I booked (but didn't pay a deposit) and was quoted $175 which I accepted and got an e-mail confirming booking. On 20.7.23 I got a phone call from new manager Ray saying booking had gone up slightly. I said, "oh ok how much"? It's now $330 and that's pretty good around here at this time of year. You also have to pay the total amount up front at time of booking". I did another check and found a really good alternative for $235 and just gave credit card details to be debited at time of visit. I would recommend people find alternatives based on this experience.

Stayed in a waterview cabin to be close to the beach for views for two nights. Full cooking facilities available, including oven. Appreciated the chaise lounge chair to enjoy the view from the cabin. Took advantage of the laundry facilities. Supermarket close by and the centre of Stanley just a short stroll away.
