The unit was a good size but the bathroom was tiny. The kitchenette was well equipped but had mismatched cupboards, some beige, some white & showing dodgy repair work. The recliner chairs were old & very clunky & difficult to operate, need to at least be serviced. We wanted to use the guest laundry but found machines to be full of site linen. It was supposed to be available for guests in the afternoon. Overall an ok place to stay, but with some update & TLC would be a much nicer place to stay.

Nice and clean, sunny, great location, has everything you need to be able to cook, nice views from the deck with a cute little table and chairs. Netflix is a bonus, easy parking, would recommend this place for a nice comfortable affordable getaway, even a friendly cat to greet you!

Lovely villa, clean with everything you need provided at a reasonable price. Nice verandah with a view. This is far enough back from highway to remove most traffic noise but close to town. Parking outside door is convenient. Small laundry on site. Recommend

Room Tip: The stairs between floors are quite steep. Not ideal if you have mobility concerns.

Perfect sunrises, a great deck from which to watch the changing light on Georges Bay. I found the deck a great place no matter what the weather. Partner enjoyed the quiet (being off the main road). The apartment is clean, with plenty of storage. The bathroom is spacious. Toilets both upstairs and downstairs. Reasonable rates.

The apartments was probably as good as they get in St Helens. The room was clean, perhaps a little dated but comfortable with all the equipment needed. Internet, was spotty and needs to be corrected as good reliable internet acces is essential for travellers--sadly many cut costs and do not provide high speed and reliable internet which is available with small expenditure.

Response from Tim Purdie, Owner at Sweetwater Villas
Responded 21 Nov 2022
Greetings. Thanks for your review but was surprised on your commentary given the reason the wifi was impacted. The internet issue was NBN related. PM me for the case number. We have Broadband fibre to premises with a highspeed plan with aftermarket Netgear router with Unifi extenders. Regards

The villa was grand, with items we were not expecting. Dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine. And of all things sharp knives and steak knives. If I could give more rating I would and definitely be back again in future. It was clean well set up. Yes it has stairs but loved the idea of the living area and bedrooms. The room really impressed me. Even the upstairs toilet with the powder room. Pity it was raining the days were there so couldn't really sit out on the patio. Last day it cleared so could take in a little time with view and fresh air. The BBQ area was great but would be better with light. Only thing if I might be wrong the stove top, took a little long to heat up and cook. Only thing that needs a look at. But definitely would book again. Loved it

We stayed 4 night & I didn’t want to leave. Most units are 2 story but we had one of the single story ones it was well set out & very comfortable, kitchen had all you needed for 2 people, very comfortable recliner lounge chairs & table 2 chairs.bed was comfortable also had electric blankets I did use mine to heat the bed once only for a short time. The owners are very friendly. & nothing too much trouble. Laundry open between 2pm & 8pm also free to wash but pay for dryer in the laundry there is also a large bookcase full of DVDs you can borrow. Highly recommend this place 5 gold stars in my books They are doing remodelling the units the one we had was finished & loverly. Thanks for the great stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights, in a 1 br Bay View room, which had only a partial view - considerably blocked by the pair of units in front. The villas are about a kilometre and a half out of town. Room was spacious, light and most everything was very comfortable - recliners, Nespresso machine, balcony and well-equipped kitchen for a couples’ stay. Bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. Bed was ok, but bedding was far too heavy, and pillows were very uncomfortable. Would recommend anyway.

Very clean facilities, super comfy bed. Kitchen well equipped - even sharp knife block. Stayed twice over 2 week period, and both rooms were of equal high standards. Only difference was layout; split story had fab views and single story not so much (due to kitchen/lounge position). Owners were kind enough to bring my forgotten suitcase to where I was working in town!

Excellent friendly customer service from Tim who is very helpful. The 2 bedroom unit was ideal for our stay in St Helens. Quiet, conveniently located, warm and cosy. Aircon heating upstairs and heating in the bedrooms downstairs. There is a lovely view of the bay from the upstairs living area and balcony. The kitchenette area is great for cooking your own meals. There is a laundrette room on site and plenty of movies to borrow to watch on your TV. The only downside was the queen bed was not great, it could have been firmer, but that may be a personal preference, due to bad backs. The IGA in town offers a great selection of groceries. If one is a walker, one can go down to the path along the bay and walk into town. It’s also a great place to use as a base if one is mountain biking in the area.
