Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Buyer Beware here, firstly the good: Cleaning and cleanliness first class Nice ammenities in the bathroom Bedding and furnishing above average. The bad: There’s no on site parking it’s on the street out the front or in the council car park adjacent to the complex. There is no on site person before you arrive you are sent a code to the front door and another for your room, don’t lose this code. This is terribly confusing for some people, someone knocked on our door thought it was there room and then struggled with all of the access codes. To calls these apartments is misleading they are small rooms with a kettle, microwave and sandwich press ( no toaster) there is no laundry in your room. Apartments are considered more self contained with more facilities this is just a room with bathroom. Our room had larger windows beware we saw another guests room with a small slit of a window at the top of the wall. It is also misleading to name it “Bay of Fires Apartments” this is 20 km up the road. Given no person on site difficulties accessing your room as numerous other guests mentioned to us I would give this place a miss there are better alternatives in town.

Thank you for your feedback, it really is very much appreciated. You mention some very relevant points. More explanation - In my description of the property, I detail exactly what the property has to offer. And I do appreciate not everyone reads the detail. Bay Of Fires 'Apartments' The business was founded and named by my late father. When taking over the business, I realised the property was in fact boutique hotel rooms/suites. The property used to be a business centre, and my father realised we needed some upmarket accommodation in St.Helens, so converted Level 1 to 9 x boutique Rooms/Suites. We are in the process of changing the name to Bay Of Fires 'Suites'. Covid hit and delayed this process, but we are close. As you can appreciate a costly step. Again, the description in all our scripture is very detailed in what the property rooms have to offer. Door Codes This system is incredibly efficient and secure. If you lose/forget a code (unique to you), we are on call 24/7. This is rare. Kitchenette A Kitchenette is not a kitchen, and has a microwave, sandwich press (fire alarm friendly toaster), Fridge, Nespresso/coffee tea etc. Again, in the description. Parking There is on-site parking, situated next to (and behind) the property. And it is free. Parking out front (rock star park) is also free. Our Property Manager lives around the corner. She is available 24/7, as am I, the owner. Again, this is all highlighted in our profile. We have repeated compliments from our guests on the property, and how we manage it. I'm really proud of our property, and our guests continue to enjoy it.

Warm sumptuous, and divine the gentle decoration and style took my breathe away Every touch was appreciated for my stay Smelt delicious, quality coffee machine massive tv, Cozy huge bed, The art work above the bed I could have walked into 💕

The main bedroom was very nice and felt homely with nice carpet and a massive bed. We were disappointed with a couple of things though. Between the kids room and the main room is only a curtain, so no real privacy especially from noise with the tv being located near to their room. There is no window in the main room, only in the kids room. The bathroom is a wet room once anyone has used the shower. There is no dishwasher in the room and it felt a risk carrying dishes and glasses into the bathroom to wash them, especially when the floor was wet. Location was ok but no dedicated or secure parking for cars.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped. There is no reception service here - you'll be sent codes for the doors. This worked fine for us. The room wasn't the biggest, and only had windows above head level so you can't see out. Well located in the centre of town, very short walk to cafes and basic shops.

We chose to stay in St Helens to see the bay of fires and the Binalong beach. I hadn't checked the location very well as these apartments are in town above a great Japanese restaurant and a 15mins drive to the beach. St Helens is a small fishing village with very few places to eat, next time I would stay in Bicheno or out at Binalong beach. Apartment was small but comfortable for 2 nights and at $440 not sure it was worth it but that's peak season in Tasmania. Maybe housekeeping could be improved with long black hair in the shower from previous occupants.

The name of this is totally misleading - “Bay of Fires Apartments. The one we stayed in was more like an airport hotel room with an bar fridge, tiny microwave and toaster. The bathroom was modern. The bed was in a room that just fitted it, a chair, small coffee table and the bar fridge. There were hooks on the wall to hang our clothes - no wardrobe. I felt mildly claustrophobic as the windows started about chest height from the ground. I felt very “closed in”. I suppose they did not really want us to look out the window - garbage bins, mop and bucket etc. It felt more like an industrial space than an “apartment”. I was so pleased that we only stayed here for 1 night.

Yes I totally agree that the name doesn't represent our boutique accommodation, which is why I write in all my marketing (Websites, booking platforms) that our boutique accommodation comprises of luxury hotel-style suites/rooms. I inherited this property from my father, who named the business. I'm not passing the buck, and apartments can be interpreted in different ways. Just like Bay Of Fires Apartments can be mis-interpreted as accommodation overlooking an ocean with balconies. I've been accused of not having this before, and there is nothing to suggest oceans and balconies in any descriptions pertaining to our accommodation. People can interpret things differently, and as most people do their research, I mostly get wonderful reviews as we pride ourselves on great accommodation, personalised service (even without a reception) and value for money. I am a well-versed traveller, and do my research when I travel, so I can enjoy my experience knowing full well what to expect. I am rarely disappointed.

These apartments are superb. Perfectly located in the centre of town. The entire building is state of the art in terms of access, fitout etc. the apartments themselves are so welcoming. It was a cold winters evening when we arrived, but our host had thoughtfully turned on the lights and heating. It was wonderful. Beautiful bed and furnishings, bathroom and toiletries. A small well equipped kitchenette (supermarket next door) completes the facilities. Susie is an outstanding host, providing excellent pre-arrival instructions/information. . She also very kindly contacted us after we left to advise we had a left a phone charger, and then insisted on mailing it to us. An outstanding stay.

The accomodation is right in town and very handy. The room was very clean and comfortable just what we needed after travelling the day. The bed was excellent. We mixed up our travel dates as we had booked on dozens of spots but Susie was very accommodating. Thank you. Very easy to get to and easy organised. Everything is done via emails and texts. Recommend staying there for sure.

We had an overnight stay here and check in etc was very smooth and so easy. I even texted Susie to ask for early check-in and all communication was quick and friendly. The room was lovely and the decor was modern and room was immaculate. Only downside would be the view from our room wasn't very nice but that is not why we booked so if you want a view I would book a front room. We chose the rear room so our error. Overall a lovely place to stay that is central and close to everything in town.
