Stopped in St Helens after a long day touring the east coast from Hobart, and chanced on this excellent apartment style accommodation. It was a little awkward checking in, but we’ll worth it for the spacious, modern and very clean apartment. Although it is technically on the highway, it was not noisy at all, and very reasonably priced - just a few dollars more than if we had rented two rooms at the flea bitten hotel down the road. Will definitely return for a longer stay in the area.

We had a great short stay at Homelea. Central location right by the walking track around the bay makes it easy to walk into town for a coffee or dinner. Comfy beds, very clean rooms and a self contained kitchen. Lovely grounds with a play area for the kids and BBQ’s. Although the units were small, they had everything we needed and we had a wonderful stay. Would definitely come back and stay again.

My sister and I went to St Helens for a croquet weekend and stayed at Georges Bay Apartments. As with all things when you have a problem you know find out what you are dealing with. The toilet had a minor leak of clean water so we rang to report it. Leonie was there within minutes offered a number of solutions. Perfect!

The beds were so comfy and the shower was hot and lots of pressure.

Totally recommend it as a place to stay. Added bonus the lovely French Restaurant is a short walk away.

We picked the wrong room. Was only a motel room. Didn't have cooking appliances even tho website states all rooms have a stove top. Forced to cook on a 100vyear old BBQ which had no instructions and was filthy. No camp kitchen so we were forced to wash our dishes in our bathroom sink which in theses civid time is totally unhygienic. If we didn't wash our cups and cutlery (we used disposable plates) we would be charged a$150 cleaning fee. Ridiculous rules for a motel room.
Bed was very hard also we hada laundry next door so we were forced to listed to the vibration of washing machines and dryers till 10.30pm then again at 8am.
The website markets this place as health renovated as apartments. We DID NOT have an apartment.
Be very wary when booking this place from a booking service.

I booked in online (via hotspotting from my work mobile) and got a text message Re my room number and lock box code to my personal mobile as that’s what the app has for me. Unfortunately my mobile phone didn’t have reception so I didn’t get the message. Fortunately there is a phone on the premises you can use if you get stuck! I got room # 4. The lockbox was easy to collect the key from. The room was spacious, the bathroom quite large and a small kitchenette. The bed was comfortable, the sleep was good and the room was clean. The fan in my bathroom made a loud rattle noise and the bathroom floor slopes quite dramatically. The shower was large and had no door or curtain. The fridge made loud noises on occasion and it sounded like the water jug rattled. The neighbour in the next room (#5) loved banging her doors as well as a common glass sliding door last night and this morning as she came and went. As a note - you need to wash, dry and put your dishes back as well as take your rubbish when you leave. There is a new bin liber under your bathroom sink.
The room heater works very effectively. I’d recommend staying here and would do so again myself. Minus the noisy neighbour!

I wish I had done more research before booking a studio motel unit here. It was so small and dark it was actually a depressing place to stay and I couldn’t wait to leave. The only window is in the bathroom and has obscured glass. The only place to sit/rest is on the bed and look at a wall covered with floor boards - which is an odd sensation in itself as it feels like you have fallen over. There is no daily room service but there isn’t a sink to wash dirty dishes, or any washing up liquid for that matter. The thought that some guests might have resorted to using the bathroom basin without soap is disturbing, especially during a pandemic. The owners should give serious consideration to putting a glass door at the front those units so they feel more like a motel and less like a prison cell. Credit where it’s due for a clean and well maintained complex.

The apartment we stayed in was okay. It wasn't what I expected, it was a little disappointing. The lounges were very low to the ground. The kitchen chairs were iron low chairs that were not comfortable. The stove top was electric with no instructions on how to use it. There was no information on anything to do in St Helens. The one small card which had a small welcome on it also had a notice to say that if you left the apartment unclean you would receive a $150 cleaning bill. I thought this was rude. I understand you wash your own dishes but to say you have to pay for a cleaner when you are paying for the apartment which isn't cheap, was not a good idea. The shower was good and the beds okay. Location was good and I thought the driveway enter and exit was a good idea. I don't think I would stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for 3 nights over new years and loved the rooms. The bedrooms are small but beautifully appointed and the beds are comfortable. Kitchen and lounge is large and has everything you need

The location is out on the edge of town but only a couple of minutes drive to the IGA so you can stock up on supplies.

Great rooms to stay with a BBQ area and green grass plus a laundry and washing line

We really enjoyed our stay here

We did find the removal of rubbish sign very confusing as we had no idea where to put our rubbish

We booked 4 nights at Homelea accommodation, the last leg of a Tasmanian trip. We were scheduled to sail on the Spirit of Tasmania on Feb. 14, 2021. Due to a snap lockdown, we of course couldn’t sail.
Homelea was the only venue we had booked, including our travel, accommodation and entertainment, that not only had already debited the entire amount, not just a deposit, but refused hands down, rudely, any sort of refund. Nearly $600 down the tubes for absolutely nothing and lied and was rude to boot. Beware when considering this dodgy place.
