Formally known as Orani, our estate was once a small family operation known for its Cherries, Apricots and Tasmanian cool climate Grape vines. Wander up to 5 kilometers of rural landscape, taking in our orchards of apricots, pears, apples and plums, the vineyard and cherry orchards, our paddocks and the waterways, Forcett Rivulet, Iron Creek Bay and Pittwater. In the long view you can take in Bruny Island and Mt Wellington by sunset. Our farm is host to a number of animals including peacocks, ducks, turkeys, sheep and alpacas.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our tour of Taz. The rooms are just lovely overlooking local wildlife and very new and clean. In our pod of 5 rooms there is also a kitchen with microwave, toaster, and cutlery. Nearby Sorell has a Cole’s and woolies as well as Chinese, Indian, pizza take away etc….this accommodation is only suitable if you have a car to get around

We dined in the restaurant on Easter Sunday with a buffet.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food paying $70 each. The wait in line was short and the food was well presented, but if you're on the short side, reaching the food will be difficult!
Unfortunately we thought it a bit rich having to pay $4.50 for a tea bag in hot water!
Lots of $s were spent on chocolate eggs for the Easter egg hunt but we couldn't get a complementary cup of tea!
We sat at our table with our coats on as the heating was inadequate on such a cold day!

What a lovely place to stay. New and very clean with helpful staff in the reception area. A good supply of fluffy towels, tea/coffee and a small refrigerator in the room itself as well as access to a larger kitchen area containing full size fridge, microwave and toaster. No traffic noise and the underfloor heating was so effective I had to turn it down. I didn't have an issue with the parking which was maybe 50 metres from my accommodation and plentiful.

I have only just now read the negative reviews below, I think they were staying somewhere else.
Yes its super brand new, which we loved, clearly all of the bugs are gone now.
Reception area is unbelievably impressive compared to others we stayed in whilst in Tassie. We were able to drive our car to our doorstep to unload then you are asked to move your car to the main carpark. We parked in the bitumised car park about 30 metres from reception rather than on the dirt carpark as it was a bit muddy, but that wasn’t a problem at all.
We stayed in a "Premium Pavilion" room which I would highly recommend as its the front room in the building. It is the only room with the huge windows overlooking the sea, vineyards and paddocks. This is a type of accommodation I had never seen before. Each building has its own entrance which leads to a passage which then has 4-5 doors leading to the front room which we had, with the big windows, then there were 4 or 5 other doors to rooms that I assume had windows looking to the sides or back, so I figure no or limited view. Then off the passage (which all rooms have access to) is a fridge, sink, toaster, jug, stools, bench and power points. There are no individual fridges just the one in the communal passage. For us we were the only occupants in the building so we didn’t see anyone else so we were a little lucky. I would think this layout would be perfect for family groups with multiple couples although you need to remember there is no communal "lounge area". Like I said I have never seen this layout before.
Perhaps perfect for a conference.
My only concern would be if all the rooms or any of the other rooms were occupied with heavy doors as they were I would expect the noise level could be a issue, let alone if they were full. But totally no issue for us.

The accommodation was perfectly clean, super spotless.

We ate at the restaurant every night, it was super good. I had the best scallops there I have ever ever eaten. Service was quick and the staff were really friendly. The seafood linguine I had the 2nd night was also just the best. The scallops were $28 (for 4 huge scallops) and the linguine a little more I cant remember so not at all expensive at all.

One thing I thought was funny, is the ensuite door latch was installed back the front, but this was not a real issue, easily fixed.

For locals a perfect wedding venue. For tourists like us its just a beautiful spot.

The place is massively huge, clean and quite new. The staffs at the concierge are mostly friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the room’s temperature on our 3rd night as the weather gets extremely heated on that day and after calling the reception, they upgraded us to a bigger spacious and with ducted aircon+ceiling fan. The facilities are super new and set up with nice features including nice timber frame around the pavilions.

The restaurant and cafe food are nice, we had a fab time on our first day there but on the second day, the waiting time is quite long to get the wait staff served you and food comes quite late.

Besides that the surroundings are amazing with beautiful nature and can cherry picking just below the restaurant. We saw 1 pony, 1 horse, several alpacas and ducks 🦆

Overall we had a pleasant stay and would definitely return there again if we visit Tassie.

We booked what looked like a lovely modern motel with water views. The title ‘farmstay’ lead us to think there might be animals to see and interact with.
Far from the truth.
With what we discovered on check in we immediately left without staying.
The signage is poor, it took us 30min to find reception. It is not a family-friendly farmstay but an old orchard.
You cannot drive to your unit but must take luggage around 200m to your door.
The unit numbers are not visible from your car.
When you eventually find your unit, one enters a long corridor with ‘cell doors’ opening along on side. On checking your pass again, you find you’ve been allocated to door 1-6.
On entering the unit, you are faced with a tiny room which barely accommodates the bed. No seating or room for luggage and a tiny ensuite bathroom. No window worth speaking of. I think there may have been lockers for luggage along the corridor. Just a sleeping pic if that.
The property is spacious enough to have created individual units but this is. To us, this is an Asian style high density living option within a huge property with a spacious reception area and lovely big restaurant and shop.
We were told that having signed the disclaimer (conveniently folded) on checkin, there was no possibility of a refund even if the property was not to our liking.
Not recommended.

Had a lovely experience at the Iron Creek Farmstay restaurant last night. Absolutely impeccable service, amazing food, gorgeous atmosphere.

Meal sizes are small and fancy, so if you’re visiting with your big mate Bill maybe grab a couple of bowls of chips for the table,

I’m glad the Sorell region has somewhere like this that’s a little bit upmarket

(Pictured is the octopus & cauliflower, was cooked to perfection)

To start we couldn't find reception despite signs. The room itself one of 3 in a small building. Very dark due to wood panelling & lack of lighting. The TV didn't work & eventually a staff member worked that out. The aircon remote showed Fahrenheit ! Parking a good 100 metres away. There was a single lane one way road out front for dropping off or picking up luggage.
The website said the restaurant open Friday & Saturday only. So we were resigned to drive the 4km into Sorell for dinner as it was Thursday, but the restaurant was open so we dined there. Good choices reasonably priced, only us & 3 other groups dining.
Overall very disappointing & would not recommend as a 1 night for travellers. Anyone attending a wedding or other function may find it convenient to stay overnight.

Cafe is very average. Actually, below average. And *WAY* over priced. 3 burgers, a chilli prawn taco and a couple of drinks........... $250.

Espresso Martini's are $22 each. I'd expect to pay that in some swanky high-end inner city penthouse restaurant, but ............. I suppose they have to raise revenue to pay for all the infrastructure they've put in.

The burgers were, well, burgers, with chips. Close to $30 each. They can give them fancy names, but at the end of the day it's a mince patty on a plain bread toll with some cheese and greenery.

The Chilli Prawn Tacos were around the $23 mark. 2 tacos. The tortilla's were old / stale, they cracked and broke when folded. The 'chilli prawns'........ Vannamei Prawns with a dusting of chilli powder does not "chilli prawns" make. She who ordered it said it was bland and tasteless, the chipotle mayo was also very mild.

The staff, while friendly, were slow. There were only two tables seated in the whole place, and a second $22 Espresso Martini took about 12mins to get out.

The only one who had dessert had the cheesecake. Mass produced, and just as bland. She also had a coffee which had a nice flavour, but was lukewarm.

We've been past many times, and always wondered. Now we know, and won't bother wondering anymore.

This review is not for the accommodation or the restaurant. As a local it is clear this place is just for tourists and I wouldn't stay or eat here. I did however pull over to buy cherries after a bumper growing season this year. Tasmanian cherries are now exported overseas, so the local population no longer get a bite of the cherry. Iron Creek charge nearly double market price for their crop, so this was a great opportunity (missed) to pay double market price for their fruit, and it gets even more expensive when you pick your own.
