Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A stunning place to relax and enjoy the North West of Tasmania. Beautiful accommodation and the staff could not do enough for us. Utterly brilliant experience & highly recommend this to anyone. Bistro was also fantastic.

So loved the quality of the restaurant and food and so loved pool access. A dream getaway holiday. Had booked in for one evening stay and definitely had to stay another. Look forward to getting back.

Don't be fooled by the photos of this hotel. We stayed there as part of a tour group, so a captive audience and we certainly didn't get the best rooms. Breakfast was only mediocre, no fresh fruit as such and much of the "hot food" was cold...!

Response from Meg Krikstolaitis, Sales at Tall Timbers Tasmania
Responded 3 July 2023
Hi MDRosa We haven't had any tour groups in for weeks now and am not clear on your name. As such I'm not able to determine the details of your stay to enable me to respond specifically about your experience. If you would like to provide more specific details on what was wrong with the rooms or anything further, please contact me at sales@talltimbershotel.com.au or 03 6452 9000. Our breakfasts always have a range of fresh fruit between the cereal and drinks stations. It would be extremely rare for anything to run out from this area, though there is a staff member available who could have resolved this along with the temperature of the hot food. This is not an experience we want any of our guests to have, but we do appreciate people letting us know of any such issues so we can resolve them. I'm not clear on how to respond to your comment about the room as I am not sure what room you stayed in or what needs our attention. I do hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your tour. Warm regards Meg

We stayed in one of the cabins. It was amazing. Very spacious and great for a family. The service was 100% fantastic. Decided to book in for a meal at the restaurant and also the staff very fantastic very friendly and meals were served very quick. Wife ordered the pork ribs they were amazing. I ordered the rib eye and it was close to the worst steak I have ever had. For $67 I have had better at a local pub. I ordered medium rare and it was over medium and the mushroom gravy was terrible. More like brown mushroom water. The steak was just soaking in this horrible water that made everything worse. Kids had the kids flake and chips and pretty much could not be eaten. Both fillets were the whole blood line of the fillet. Black and mush. Bit of a sad note to end such a fantastic holiday at such an amazing accommodation place.

Tall timbers is a fairly big single story motel. The room I had was in a section where the rooms were staggered so that you didn't have a living room wall from the next room against your living room Made it look different as well. The room was quite large & the bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean & I liked the way the TV was hidden. Dinner was very yummy.

The room was average at best. Restaurant staff were more interested in talking to each other behind the counter then serving us, and the food was less than acceptable. Overall, wouldn’t recommend to stay or dine.

Our 2 bedroom villa was fabulous, with a beautiful view of the duck pond, large comfortable bedrooms, and living space, and a washing machine and dryer in our room which is perfect if you're travelling around Tassie for a couple of weeks and need to clean your clothes. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very accommodating, with Alison at reception from the moment we checked in, Meg from marketing who personally packed and delivered bags of duck feed to our door for our mum to feed the ducks from our villa deck, Emma who delivered our breakfast, and Peter in maintenance who was quick to respond and reset a blown fuse. We couldn't have asked for a better service. They were incredible. On behalf of our mums and my husband and I, we thank you for our amazing stay and would highly recommend Tall Timbers to anyone staying on the northwest coast of Tasmania.

After a long drive we found the rooms very comfortable and generally quiet. There is good food available just a stone throw away in the property's dining rooms. A welcome stay with staff making everything easier.

Rob picked us up and gave us a review of the beautiful Tarkine area. As he drove he gave us the geological as well as indigenous peoples history plus the settlement history after explorers “discovered “ Tasmania. There wasn’t one question I asked that Rob didn’t know the answer to. He stopped for scenic overviews, easy walks to beautiful places and overlooks, and he provided a delicious tea and gourmet lunch. This tour is well advised—Rob knows his stuff!

Responded 20 Mar 2023
I am beyond delighted that you were able to experience the Tarkine with Rob as your guide. He is an asset to the region and only those who partake in the tours are able to see how valuable he is and how he can make exploring what could be considered by some as 'just another rainforest, beach, historical site...' a relaxing experience with so much knowledge.
