Cannot speak highly enough of staying at this wonderful and beautiful country cabin. Spacious accommodation with a fully equipped kitchen. Our host John was full of advice and information about this breathtaking property. Even a silver mine is on site where you can see up close the native Tasmanian spiders. Or just sit back and watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Even better after a full day of hiking Cradle Mountain go for a swim in the indoor pool. We all just loved this stopover on our tour of Tasmania.
Simple cabins with everything you would need. Indoor heated pool that the kids loved but possible a little too much chlorine as all their swimmers came out a few shades bleached after 3 hours in the pool. Sensational location with magnificent views of Mount Roland on the back doorstep.
The location of silver ridge is amazing, just below Mt Roland. The indoor pool was great for our kids, and we saw an echidna while we were there, which was great. The cabins are self contained and totally fine, but furniture, sheets etc could be updated, as we paid $235 per night. There are no slow combustion fires in the cabins anymore, but you now have a new AC in the living area. The laundry is also free to use. The property is great, and the old silver mine was a great adventure, about 20mins walk up the hill. Justin was a excellent host, and gave us lots of information about a range of attractions and things to do.
The cottages were attractive, well equipped and very comfortable for our group of seven ladies. The close up view of Mount Roland was stunning, the surrounding farmland of rolling green hills completely beautiful. We had planned our days of sightseeing in the area and regretted not including extra rest days to just soak up the peace and beauty of Silver Ridge. John, the host guides guests on evening walks to see the wildlife, there is a very warm indoor pool, and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. We will be back for a return visit.
We were originally planning a 2 night stay here but extended it to 3 and would have loved to have made it a week. The retreat was exactly that and we’re hopeful to bring the extended family back soon. The cottage had everything we needed, the showers both in the cottage & the pool house were great. The pool was wonderful to use each day and the property itself really relaxing and in a beaut setting but close enough to lots of activities - in future we would use this as a base rather than staying in multiple places. Native hens were lovely to watch and our son loved getting to know the host cat ‘Mr Nips’. Thanks so much for your hospitality and nothing being too hard, that swim right before setting out for home just topped off a great stay.
