Had a 2 night stay here for a mix of business and leisure and stayed in a one bed apartment.
Very nice motel, not too big and offering a nice selection of standard motel rooms, apartment style and a family room option. Accommodation mainly on the ground floor, but we were given an option of a 1st floor room, which was great as it gave us a superb view of nearby Mount Roland.
If you are having a long stay I would recommend the one bed apartment as it was very spacious with a large kitchen area including a proper fridge/freezer rather than a mini bar fridge. Microwave only for cooking which is fine by me!.

The motel is well presented, has a nice garden area with a BBQ/outdoor seating area and although on the main street rooms and off street parking are set back from the main street. Sheffield is famous for its murals, and the Sheffield Motor Inn delivers on these too as there are quite a few on the motels walls.
All the shops, cafes and in town attractions you would want to visit are just a short walk away. Mount Roland for a few hours walking is a short drive away and the north west coast/Devonport area is approx 30 mins drive away too.

Staff were terrific, friendly and helpful from the moment we booked, I would highly recommend staying here.

(Note: no onsite dining here, but the excellent Bossimi's café is next door for breakfasts and meals during the day and across the road is the Sheffield Hotel which offers lunch, dinner and a takeaway service)

This motel is located in the city. It's a small town, but there are supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance, so it was convenient. The room was spacious enough. There was only a shower, but the facilities included a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and tableware, so I thought it was suitable for a long stay.
It takes about an hour to drive to Cradle Mountain National Park on an up-and-down road, but compared to the expensive hotels in the park, it's a reasonable price to stay at, so I recommend it.

We stayed here as a family of five for two nights. We booked a two bedroom apartment (number 9). Check in was quick and easy and the lady at the reception was nice and polite. Our room was on ground level and we were able to park our car in front of the apartment. The apartment was very spacious with a kitchenette and a living area. The two bedrooms had their own separate ensuite which was perfect for our family. We were pleasantly surprised how big the apartment was and my son loved running around it. The room was clean with basic furniture which accommodated all our needs. The heater worked well as it was cold in April and the single heater managed to heat both rooms well.

The motel is within walking distance to many shops, cafes, an IGA and a general store. You can see murals which the town is famous for dotted around.

The only negative was that the wifi wasn’t working very well, occasionally dropping out or couldn’t seem to connect on some of our devices.

Other than that, we had a pleasant stay and would consider staying here again.

One of the nicest country motels I’ve ever stayed in. Clean, spacious and great service.
Close to shops and cafes with terrific Tasmanian scallop pies. What more could you want?
Also laundry was great to clean out well used clothes after six days on the Overland Track.

Recently stayed for several nights at this motor inn right in the heart of town and it was very enjoyable.
There were 3 of us and we stayed in an upstairs apartment. The motor inn is very basic in styling, but the beds are comfortable with nice linen and pillows. There is a laundry with coin operated washing machines and a washing line in the large garden area. Sheffield is known for it's many murals and the motor inn has several on it's site. I only ever spoke to one staff member, and she was lovely and very helpful.
Being in the heart of town, you can walk to any one of the lovely cafes which all serve very good coffee. We ate at the Italian restaurant (on site), which was excellent, very authentic and also at the town's Chinese restaurant which was also very good. Whilst staying in Sheffield we visited lots of lovely places within driving distance such as House of Anvers (chocolate & fudge) and the amazing shop Reliquaire at Latrobe, Ashgrove Dairy and Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm at Elizabeth Town. Sheffield is definitely worth a few days visit and I would recommend Sheffield Motor Inn for a comfortable stay

Absolutely the most basic accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. If the pricing was lower my expectations would have been met perhaps, but at $145 they most certainly were not. Felt like I was sleeping in a fibro shed, with cheap and nasty furnishings. Sheets felt nice which is why I gave 3 stars. Shower over a dated corner spa bath with a high step in, mirror on the wall looked like out of a public toilet. Cheap Lino on floors. Just felt so cheap and awful. We usually stay at the pub over the road that is about $50 cheaper per night and has a much better feel and more character for sure.

It was raining when we arrived in Sheffield and having enjoyed on a early lunch decided to see if we could get early access to our room. Friendly receptionist, our request accommodated and the car was soon offloaded. Luckily the rain abated and we were able to enjoy some hours viewing the local attractions and more shopping therapy. Room clean and sanitised and containing all the amenities that we required for our overnight stay. Laundry located a couple of units from ours, so an ideal opportunity to update again. I'd have rated 5* if the restaurant facility was operational. Both of us were happy with our room.

We had three bedroom unit. Staff were generous with extra towels, tea/coffee and other accessories. We had small kitchenette with electric frypan, toaster, microwave and kettle.

Unit was clean and well maintained. Location is great to break up a trip to/from Cradle Mountain/Launceston. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Very basic rooms. Bed is terrible and uncomfortable. The room is cold and you can feel a draft coming through. Tv is tiny, doesn’t work the best and is not a smart TV so can’t log into Netflix. Will definitely not be back or recommend.
