Great location backing onto Port Arthur site, easy walk to booking office. Signage not great on arrival, entry and reception hard to find. Older style complex and rooms, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant was very nice, but shuts early.
We stayed here overnight as part of a road trip. Room has recently been refurbished and was very pleasant with a comfy bed. Bathroom was small but good hot water pressure and a nice shower. Water came out of the tap brown which was not great but it is in the middle of nowhere so it’s probably something to do with local conditions. Room was located in a peaceful location and we did not hear the neighbours at all.
This is a large complex consisting many motel units, a bar, restaurant and office. The reception closes early. We drove into the motel after dark. The signage is terrible. We parked the car in a dark, large, front area under trees and had to walk around trying to find the motel reception and a way to bring the car into the a parking space near our motel unit. Luckily we saw a a pencilled note stuck inside the reception door saying our key was in the motel door. During Covid this motel was not servicing rooms which was fine. The room was OK. It was very cold weather and our airconditioner did not work. A staff member said there were four old aircons that needed replacing and we had one of them. There are electric blankets though. We did not eat at the motel restaurant.
Stayed 2 nights at the Port Arthur Motor Inn. Great location for a visit to Port Arthur Historic site though there was no offer of package tours to Port Arthur Historic Site as advertised. Was told where we could purchase entry tickets though. Has a bar and restaurant on site which is very convenient, but closed at 8pm during our stay. Both nights school trips were booked into the restaurant at 6pm and not sure why the second dining room was not used to accommodate the children as the restaurant was very loud and chaotic for dining guests. Motel rooms are comfortable but 'due to covid' rooms are not serviced if staying more than 1 night. Very disappointed that the owner would not accept our Tasmanian Holiday voucher as payment for 1 nights accommodation. We were unfortunately unable to use it as we were leaving Tassie. Booking wasn't being cancelled just the way payment was being made which is done on checkout. To be told that the incentive was to encourage travellers to visit Tasmania was also a bit rude considering we spent 15 days and lots of money towards the Tasmanian tourism industry during our holiday.…
The location is fantastic, we walked through the gate and into the Pt Arthur historic site. We arrived late and arranged a late check in which was very simple and met Melissa the next morning - very helpful staff on site. The place is dated (think the ‘70’s) but is well kept and clean. Electric blankets and split system air conditioner, hot shower, fridge and kettle for tea and coffee. There is an option for breakfast to your room which we didn’t use but at $12 it looked like good value for a continental breakfast. Free wifi and parking, we used the ‘overflow’ car park so we had a bit more room to access the car.
