Popped in for a drink whilst staying at the nearby campsite. We were made very welcome by all, had a great night, many thanks to owners and the regulars for the hospitality shown. An excellent traditional pub, wish that there were more like it. Alan & Maggie (Scotland)

We walked to the Bush Inn from our accommodation not knowing what expect. What we got was a great night. The pub is the oldest in Australia and it shows but the atmosphere is fantastic. Warm cozy with two open fires burning in the bar areas. Lee, the bar man was a wealth of knowledge on the history of the... More

What a great place for a pub, huge deck overlooking the river on a sunny day. Walking past a nice warm fire - and starting to rain while writing this note. Drinks and service was pretty good, but the food was substandard I thought, even for a country pub. The problem was the fish of the day - Barramundi that... More

WE went there for a Sunday lunch on a cold winters day. The fires were going and the regular patrons were very friendly. Nothing fancy about the food, just plain honest old fashioned pub food with a very generous amount. We we were there wish a car club and every body had the same experience. No matter what was ordered,... More

The Bush Inn is a great, old-fashioned, unpretentious hotel. The oldest continually licensed hotel in Australia. Massive log fires in the bar and lounge. No internet or wifi avalilable. Friendly host, professional staff. The single room was warm comfortable and clean, with shared bathroom facilities. The $50 single tariff includes a basic breakfast. Pub meals available in the evening. I... More

The bush inn is a piece if history to stay in this little town. Don't expect 4 star anything. Just a comfy bed. Country hospitality and country charm. Inn is close to many shops and eating choices. Nice to be in a little town inn out if Hobart instead of city life.

Would never suggest this place for their Mother's Day Lunch, we were a table of 10 & all of our meals were stone cold underneath the microwaved gravy. Definitely choose elsewhere! This isn't the first terrible meal we have had here. Time to update your meals!!

What a gem - we didn't stay at the Bush Inn but had a meal in the Bistro and sat and watched the football in the bar after dinner. The meals are good old fashioned home cooking - I had Roast Pork and it was the best I've ever had in any pub - my partner had Chicken Schnitzel with... More

Can't say anything about the accommodation because we only went there for a meal and a few drinks. Had to give these guys an "excellent", because we turned up after dinner service was over, but they were still happy to cook anything off the menus for us, and even some variations on the menu. Service was quick and friendly, and... More
