We stayed at the Explorers Lodge in the self-contained 2 bedroom apartment. Very clean and comfy, and the hosts were quietly helpful, without being intrusive. They know nice places for walks. Fresh home baked bread was great! Would stay there again. Good value for money

Explorers lodge bed & breakfast has a lot of personality. Nigel and Liz,the owners, put a lot of heart into this establishment. They are very kind and friendly people and made a real effort to make our stay pleasant. Room was a bit small but clean and cosy. Also price-range was quite affordable.

We usually stay at resorts or hotels, but had a spare night on our way back to Hobart so booked into Explorers Lodge Bed & Breakfast. What a lovely find - and like other one night stayers, we too wished we had stayed longer there. We were made extremely welcome - our room was excellent, the breakfast next morning equally...

Stayed at the lodge just for the one night. Was greated by the very lovely owners who made us feel extreamly welcome and gave as a tour of the very sweet old homestead. Lovely warm, clean rooms and the sitting and sun rooms were lovely. We spent the night in there by the open fire and even enjoyed a nip of...

Unfortunately we were only overnighters but this is a place worth staying longer at… just to be there and appreciate the ambience of the public rooms and garden. Our room was one of the smaller rooms but very comfortable and adequate with ensuite. There was a sense of living in a piece of history as it was the old manager's...

Explorers Lodge is a beautiful 1940s built home with B&B and a self contained wing where we stayed with our two kids. The garden is gorgeous and there is a pool which we all enjoyed. Spacious, elegant main bedroom with ensuite and second room with separate corridor and its own bathroom worked very well. New Norfolk is pretty, historically interesting,...

The perfect way to end our holiday. Mum and I travelled around Tasmania for a couple of weeks and spent the last 2 nights in the B&B main house of Explorers Lodge which was definitely a highlight of our trip. The warm hospitality of Liz and Nigel and the great efforts they went to for all the guests to make...

Nice homely place to stay - fantastic breakfast!! Hosts were very friendly and gave us good advice on where to eat and local places to visit. We stayed in a king room which was upstairs and overlooked the gardens - nice communal lounge, well stocked with books and lovely sunroom. Only minor negatives were a very small TV monitor, and...

We stayed in the Tasman Hideaway which is self contained. The fixtures and fittings were a little tired but everything worked. It was quite cold at night but the heaters and the electric blanket worked well. The small kitchen was manageable as we cooked dinner there one night and made breakfast both days.

We now have brand new carpets throughout the Tasman Hideaway and new ceramic bathroom tiles in the ensuite to the main bedroom. The reverse cycle airconditioner is new and works very well as does the new digital TV. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to have a return visit!
