Tynwald Willow Bend Estate is a fine example of a beautiful circa 1830 manor house with all of the finishing touches. Hosts Pat and Gary are both charming and fine chefs- the food is second to none and they are more than happy to chat about their property and it’s history as well as the local must see’s. Tommy the cat is adorable as are the three resident pigs. Fresh eggs from the chickens and a focus on local produce and wine make a stay at Tynwald truly memorable for all the best reasons .
Unique place run by unique people. Very “old English” place and atmosphere. As “foodies” imagine our delight to receive the best food we have had in quite a while. It felt like eating at home and the food was delicious, beautifully presented and of obvious high quality ingredients. Everything was cooked to perfection and condiments and pastry were home-made ..... I was not going to even eat the savoury pastry but had a bite ..... and OMG ..... so so so perfect I then scoffed it .... I don’t usually eat dessert either ... had a bite .... and OMG .... so so so perfect I then scoffed it. Would have gone again next night but we were booked into MONA ....
This was a stunning house, well maintained period home. The hosts were friendly. We had dinner there and it was an excellent meal. Breakfast was also very good. We had a ground floor room which was decorated in period fashion and had a fireplace.
We stayed in the stone cottage on the property and after half an hour decided to extend our stay. It was such a wonderful, quiet retreat from our busy holiday and we loved that all the small things were catered for; chocolates, regular and plunger coffee, tea bags and loose leaf tea, port, the fireplace set and ready to go, washing powder! Although small, the layout of the cottage worked well for the 3 of us and we found it very comfortable. Everything was clean and the bed was big enough for my 6 foot 4 husband.
The stay was like a charming time travel. The whole house is lovely in ancient English style. You feel good right now. The hospitality of Pat and Garry is remarkable. They are friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and was served by both perfect. We love it. And we had a nice conversation. High recommendable.
