What an amazing place - old world character and charm, perfectly presented with everything you would expect of a mansion built in the 1830's, appropriately adapted to ensure no compromise to comfort. Our room was just perfect. We also dined in the restaurant and were treated to a magnificent meal. The breakfast choices were varied and generous, served in the...

My wife and I stayed at Tynwald in New Norfolk for 2 nights, we have stayed at many B& Bs over the years but this is easily the best. Reasonably priced rooms but very spacious with ensuite. Tynwald offers not only a great breakfast but a 5 star restaurant dinner at night which is partly home grown and prepared by...

Set in a great location from which to tour the area, this beautiful house has been cared for and kept in it's traditional style. Pat and Gary were extremely welcoming hosts and dinner was a lovely relaxed affair with a varied menu to suit all tastes. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast, with a gluten free diet catered for. Our...

This style of accommodation may suit some people but unfortunately not us. We found the quaint old place a bit run down and full of clutter that carried heaps of dust. We stayed in the spa suite which was fortunate as others had to share bathrooms whereas ours was exclusively for us. The bathroom is tacked on into the balcony...

A charming Georgian/Victorian experience with a few modern amenities thrown in. We had a lovely ensuite with waterfall views. The home is otherwise in original condition and has an old mill and hops storage on the grounds. Great walks along the river to look for platypuses. New Norfolk itself is a sad place, but Tynwald is a great base from...

Located in a secluded area of New Norfolk. Only 30 minute drive from Hobart. Excellent olde world accommodation. Furnished appropriately for the era. Restaurant offers excellent menu and silver service. Parking available.

We were not booked in at Tynwald we were booked in somewhere else in New Norfolk which definitely did not suit us. Lucky for us Tynwald had a room left and it was the best night we had had the entire trip. The house is full of old world charm antiques are placed all around the house including the rooms...

We had an incredible time during our short stay at the Estate. Dinner was absolutely lovely. The tasting entrée plate is a must and the mains were vibrant and full of local produce. Pat, the owner, was very welcoming. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!

I attended a function at this venue. We were greeted!! by a surly owner/manager and it didn't get any better. Her attitude was completely unpleasant and spoiled the event for us. The food portions were extremely small although quite tasty. Service was haphazard. Would definitely not recommend this place - worse than Fawlty Towers as there was no Manuel to...
