This is a review of the pub's dining room only. The pub is old and the etched windows attest to this. If you remember the old brands (Mindara wines, Orlando Winies, etc) it brings back memories. The dining room furniture is also old and if you are getting old, its not very soft or comfortable. However, the food was great....

This was a great little place to stay and grab a great pub meal. Located close to the National Park of Mt Field this little gem was perfect for us take a walk amongst the tall trees. Very friendly and great hospitality.

An old country pub given life by Joff and his wife. The pub serves up all the good stuff and a great range of Tassie beers and wine. The accomodation is cheap but wonderful. Homemade soap quaint little room with old hardwood floors. Freshly painted inside giving it life. The meals are delicious too. The vege curry won! This is...

A very good place to meet both local people and other tourists, and have a good drink. Their steak was of great value, but salads were a bit small for the price. Good wine; good beer, cheap pool games....All in all, we are there, why not going to have a good drink with other people at a country pub!!!!!

We're a young Asian-Australian couple travelling Tasmania and was recommended this pub for dinner by the host of our b&b. Awesome choice of venue. Jof the owner was super nice and the locals were friendly as you could be. Drinks were also very reasonably priced. Would go again and recommend to others. Note: kitchen doesn't open before 6pm. Not sure...

A group of five decided to walk to the pub for dinner from our camp site in MtField as the sign outside said "Pub Food 400m". Not to be. We were informed by, I assume the owner that they didn't serve meals at night until the weekend. With no food, and nowhere else to go we went hungry, as did...

We have been to the pub twice for meals in the last 6 months. Great friendly service, large meal portions and great variety. The dining room has had a recent renovation and provides a great space to catch up with friends over a meal! Thoroughly enjoyed both our meals here.

Aggressive locals who thought we were undercover police from the moment we walked in the door. Wanted to pick a fight with us and kept trying to interrogate us and then said they had a local plantation. This was on a Sunday evening. Owner/bar tender drinking heavily and playing pool with other locals. Be wary - they tried to intimidate...

We stopped in on our way through the area for a drink and a snack. The Pub is very cosy and has a good deal of character. The woman at the bar was friendly and helpful. Was a very limited lunch menu and the locals at the bar seemed to be a bit put out by our arrival if only...

Not many choices around, and this is the best available. Cozy place with good staff. Don't expect good beers, the locals prefer bland mainstream brews. No lunch! That was a disappointment. Didn't stick around for dinner so no idea. Won't rush back, but don't mind stopping by again either.
