I stayed overnight at this lodge whilst cycling around Great Lake - and really enjoyed my stay. All normal rooms were booked when I rang to arrange accommodation, but the owners went out of their way to help me out by making a spare room (very comfortable and with lake views) available at short notice. The evening meal (supported by...

Relaxed country lodge. Rooms are well equipped, if a little basic, and comfortable. Shower only in bathroom but perfectly adequate. Lodge is quite remote particularly for eating out, but lodge meals are good and well priced. Bar is well stocked and owners and staff are helpful and friendly. WiFi free and works well. Cellphone coverage is almost non existent with...

This hotel is beautifully situated on the shores of the Great Lake (a little further away than usual when we were there, due to drought. There is a dam even closer to the hotel. The main tourists to come to the beautiful Great Lakes area seem to be those who want to fish, and this lodge seems to offer them...

We had the best couple of day here. Day tripped, fished, relaxed and had delicious dinners and good wine in the lodge each night. We chatted to ovals which was one of the highlights. Very friendly people and great tales to tell. Walked into the bar one night to find a local called dusty with her orphaned wombat baby. What...

We have just enjoyed one night at the Lodge while driving around Tas. What a delight this place is. Not at all pretentious, just a spotlessly clean little motel on the edge of the Great Lake. Free wifi in rooms - big hotels take note - and a nice dinner in the bar/restaurant. Definitely recommended if you wish to stay...

We were very well looked after, food was great and a great relaxing time. Lots to do and see even if you do not fish. Full marks and to Helen and Michael for their wonderful hospitality. Well worth a visit.

A pleasant drive from Launceston up to central Tasmania at the south end of the Great Lake brought us to the Central Highlands Hotel and our accommodation at the Lodge. The "lodge" we booked turned out to be a very big modern cabin with a huge loungeroom, a Chesterfield lounge, a huge bed and good facilities. A large deck enabled...

Arrived to a great family run welcome. Rooms are a bit spartan, but comfortable. After all this is a budget establishment. Breakfast was great with a good variety as a buffet and a cooked breakfast. Dinner was excellent each evening...a good hearty menu. Overall a nice comfortable place to stay after a great day trout fishing in this Tasmanian wilderness.

This was an amazing find. We were caught out in unexpected snowfall and called into the lodge for accommodation. Helen and Michael were wonderful hosts. We were treated with warm smiles, a roaring fire and yummy hot soup and dinner. They were also really helpful with advice about travel conditions for us snow novices. A definite must to stay for...

The brochure and website looked fantastic. We were expecting a warm welcome for our 3 day fishing trip. My son had booked us a twin room and assured me that the accommodation looked lovely. It started badly with a frosty reception from the receptionist, we tried to make small talk but she was having none of it. The room looked...
