Detailed Reviews
Only stayed here a night, could have stayed a week. Did arrive early at 10.30am & given a beautiful powered caravan site by the river.
The staff are amazing, so kind & helpful.
The ammenities perfect & what a town !!!
Longford has a walk sheet available at the park reception & you can walk or drive looking at all the historic buildings.
We did the walk & it was sensational.
The people of this town are magnificent.
We shopped at Browns IGA & I have never experienced that kind of service ever in a supermarket. Nothing was a problem. After search all over Tassie at bigger supermarkets for a boneless chicken roll to put in Weber, this Gentleman in the deli said “ I will make you one” “ give me 4-5 minutes. So we did our shop & he had it made. We called back next day to let him know how good it was. The price some may ask? Same price as purchasing 3 chicken breasts which he made it out of, spiced & netted. It was delicious.
The staff at this IGA all so helpful even at checkout.
Great town great caravan park great people. Need to go back for at least a week to see everything.

Oh my god, what a lovely place ! Sharon loves backpackers and is so helpful with foreigners. He knows every farmer around !
We stayed just next to a river and it was so amazing. It’s very abordable and you can go to work in farms around very easily. Thanks for your welcoming, we will go back soon !

Wow what a gorgeous caravan park. Beautifully maintained and close to shops etc. we saw a review whining about having to key for showers but seriously 20c for three minutes - it just ensures there is hit water fur everyone when the jerk is full and you aren’t waiting due half an hour with tired kids for a shower. Obviously the person who made that stupid review has never lived on tank water or through a drought. This is a friendly beautiful park - even the dump point is pretty planted out with sweet smelling roses.

$35 for a River Site bit much. Why River sites dearer then normal unpowered sites. The lady in reception only told us about 1 BBq, which is a pay one at $1 for 5 minutes. We found out they also have a free one. We paid $5 to cook our Dinner, What a money hungry place. Why have 1 pay & 1 free? No wonder so many people free camp. I will free camp in Longford next time too.

The place to be if you are looking for farm work, and being in lovely place. Sharon is definitively a backpacker person, very handful and helpful with us, she doesn’t hesitate to contact farmers for you. Nice parties as well !

I hired a caravan for myself and teenage son. Cost $135 a night. Due to bad phone reception on my end it was a bit difficult to communicate with manager when booking. When we arrived the caravan was nice and cool as the air con had been put on on for us already, a nice touch. The manager was friendly. Being a caravan there were certain limitations. There is a note saying not to have showers for too long, or have people having them consecutively as you may run out of water as a cylinder needs to refill which takes time. The manager also explained the bunks were for children not adults. This meant my previous plan of me sleeping on the bunk while my tall son slept in main bed would not work. Consequently he slept on mattress on floor in bunk section, blocking the path to the bathroom, not ideal. I am 165 cm tall and found the main bed a little short. We were careful with shower use and it was ok. I did use the general caravan park toilets and they looked clean.
I liked the pretty grounds outside and the deck area was nice. I appreciated the good quality frypans and saucepans in the caravan making it easier to cook with. The caravan park is also close to shops. It was lovely and quiet at night. So I would say it’s a good option if you are not too tall.

Spent a couple of nights here. The manager was really friendly and very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for her. Right on the river grassy and green and spotless amenities. Easy walk to town and a great park down the road. Would definately come back.

Located on the banks of the Macquarie River, this is a pretty and well presented caravan park. Can get flooded at times of heavy rain - the river was at the bank at ther time we stayed.
Good, grassed sites and excellent amenities: right in the heart of town.
Provides a good base for a region that has much to offer.

The river view for tent camping is stunning (3 stars). Access in, is terrible. Only one lane entry and nowhere to park while checking in at reception. If others are checking in there is a very lengthy wait to access your site. 15 minutes in a queue waiting for other campers to check-in is ridiculous (loss of 2 stars).

Hi Timnell Yes firepits are welcome as long as they are elevated off the grass so not to leave burn marks.
