Probably the best accomodation on King Island. The property has three villas in a gorgeous location about 200m from the shoreline. We stayed in the one bedroom (Primelea) and from the beginning we were impressed by the quality of construction and the thought that went into the planning.
The building is specifically designed to take advantage of the spectacular location showcasing the wild nature that surrounds it. Virtually 90% of the walls are glass making you feel like you are one with the nature. However ….it is double glazed glass making for great insulation from both the weather and the sound of the wild waves on the rocks.
The villa is set to be fully self contained with Miele appliances , gas fireplace and thermostat controlled panel heater in the bedroom. The bathroom has underfloor heating and is fitted with both shower and a bath …..with a view. The king size bed is very comfortable.
Everything in the unit is button operated….including all the blinds.
In summary, it is one of the best remote accomodation that we encountered
Sam is a very good host and very communicative. The produce provided in the welcome pack were high quality and sourced on King Island . He even made the effort to provide lactose free milk and gluten free crackers for my wife. Thank you.
Thoroughly recommended 👍

We .. 3 couples..recently spent 5 nights here on King Island.
The home is beautifully set up with the most amazing views of the ocean from all bedrooms and living areas.
The decor is tasteful, the beds , pillows and linen are top quality so much so that my wife pulled the pillows apart to get the make of them so we could order for home.
Sam was very professional in our dealings with him and his provisioning prior to our arrival was very generous and thoughtful.
The accommodation is only 15 minutes out of Currie but with the rest of the island, wallabies are in plague proportions and great care needs to be taken when driving to or from the accommodation.
In fact, whilst on wallabies, one in particular became somewhat of a nuisance whilst we were there sitting outside our door , visible for us to see, waiting to be fed.
Unfortunately, guests have seen fit to feed the wildlife which in my opinion is a big no no.
The gas wood heater was very welcome, especially on the day the westerlies arrived with rain .
This is a first class property with rates that are high, but when shared amongst 3 couples, it makes for a fabulous place to come and enjoy.
I know you will too

Ettrick Rocks is one of the most well designed 1 bedroom (didnt see inside the others)accommodation we have had the privilege to stay in. ....... and we have travelled extensively.

Ceiling to floor glass to watch the sea crashing on the rocks or the wallabys grazing 5 metres away. A beautiful bedroom window seat to take your breath away. All top end white goods with a washing machine and dryer. Just what is needed after an amazing day on the incredible golf courses (incredibly picturesque and world class)

The photos do not do it justice.

You may often hear someone say, "the photos don't do it justice!". Well this can't be any truer for this slice of heaven. My wife and I spent our 10 year anniversary here and it was such an incredible experience to stay at Ettrick Rocks. From the lead up to our stay, Sam's communication and help was exceptional. When we arrived at the house, we were in awe, not only of the surroundings but also of the house itself. The way this house was designed, the layout takes really does take advantage of the view. Whether you're enjoying a wine in the living area, reading a book on the bedroom daybed, lounging on the coach or even having a bath, you can see the beautiful waves crashing along the shoreline wherever you look.

The inclusions are brilliant here. Sam and Angela have gone to great lengths thinking about every little thing to make the stay at their place so comfortable. High quality shampoos and soaps, breakfast provisions, coffee pods, everything you need kitchen utensils/applicance wise and detailed instructions for appliances - you name it they've thought to include it.

The cleaner did an exceptional job preparing it for our arrival. We've stayed in many places over the years and this was without a doubt the most spotless and clean one we've ever stayed in.

When we arrived, Sam took his time to offer a friendly phone chat and went over everything to ensure we knew how to operate what we needed to enjoy the place to it's potential. He is such a nice bloke to deal with and it's obvious he takes great pride in providing excellent customer service and in ensuring that his guests are happy.

Sipping some nice Tasmanian wine and having some delicious King Island cheese, while you chat to a loved one and take in that view is a newly discovered pleasure of life. There's a TV but you won't need it.

Thanks so much Sam and Angela for a wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back to King Island and look forward to staying there once again.

- James and Amy

Second time we have visited here. Sam the host is a great guy, very thoughtful, and contacted us during our stay to ensure everything was going well. It was! The single bedroom chalet overlooks amazing views of the rocks and sea, I could sit and watch all day. There’s a log effect gas fire for when it gets cool, and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils and appliances. Sam provides breakfasts! We found the bed to be one of the most comfortable that we’ve had in any accommodation, and the bathroom very satisfactory. Indeed this place is excellent, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Treat yourself to this wonderful retreat on the rugged western coastline of King Island. I guess I may not be the fussiest of guests, but I reckon Ettrick Rocks is close to perfection. It's one of those places where the photos are fantastic, but to be on location is even better!
There were 6 of us visiting (mainly to play golf), and hence we booked all three retreats. They are all very similar in layout and design. Very modern features, delightful kitchen, and floor to ceiling glass windows to enjoy the stunning ocean that relentlessly crashes into the craggy rocks at the shoreline. Large bedrooms, which contain a large comfy bed, more views of the ocean (!) and each room with its own very elegant ensuite. These are just some of the features ... you get the drift.
Oh, did I mention the lovely touch on arrival with cheese plate, bottle of wine, and significant provisions for breakfast? I guess the only thing missing was a personal butler!
Highly recommended for those wanting great comfort in a simply stunning location.

We spent a magnificent Easter weekend on King Island at the beautiful Australina property.

I can’t quite put into words how gorgeous the property and surrounds are. The house has all the mod cons for you to be able to spend afternoons and evenings cooking up the terrific island produce and watching the most beautiful sunsets.

The wildlife is at your doorstep too with lots of tame wallabies bouncing around as you sit on the front deck.

It’s the perfect retreat to come back to after a day of exploring the island. The comfiest beds to give you a great night sleep with stunning views to wake up to. We would recommend Ettrick Rocks to anyone!

We were fortunate enough to stay at Ettrick Rocks for 3 nights. The attention to detail and level of service/support was the absolute best. The charcuterie board and bottle of Tasmanian wine were fabulous. Sam was brilliant and could not have done more to help.
