After arriving and passing through the security gate we arrived at our site. A large level green grass site within an easy walk of the amenities. The ramped shower/toilet/camp kitchen/ laundry block is well designed. Some showers have large shower heads, bliss, and with your $1 for your shower it is a winner. All the amenities are clean and no queues. The highlight for me was the Tasmanian devil show which also included a cow being milked and a very friendly sheep that loves a pat. The platypuses were shy but it was fun looking. The bbq areas are along the waterway and are webers which makes a steak taste so much better.

Had a 2 night stay here with my family, we paid a few extra dollars and got a riverside site (definitely worth the $5 upgrade)

They had a man made beach on the rivers edge, the kids could not get enough floating around in the river (both days were over 30 degrees when we visted).

We went to the show both nights and the kids loved it, each night was a little different which kept it fresh and interesting.

- Yes, showers do cost $1 (and you'll need a $1 coin, but they have them at check in desk if needed)
- Yes there are a few rules.
EG. Fires must be elevated 60cm off the grass.
No mats or sheets down on the grass.
10kph speed limit etc.

But... the grass is Immaculate! ( not scorched by fires or killed by tarps)
Kids can ride safely on bikes as every is driving so slowly and carefully ( which gives you peace of mind as a parent)

Toilets were well kept with quality quilton TP.
The shower I used had a huge rainwater head on it, and was great, instant hot water and plenty if pressure.

We ended up paying and extra $20 to have a late checkout (2pm) so the kids could have another swim and play in the creek and so we could pack up at a leisurely pace.

Unfortunately the pizza oven listed on the website was not there when we visited and we had planned on a pizza night, but we made do with the BBQ.

A little pricier than some mainstream parks, but it's very well kept, the owners were super friendly as were the helpers.

Plenty of families about but also plenty on nomads and couples, it's got something for everyone.

We ducked out to Tahune Airwalk on the second day and the site would also be a good base to visit Hastings Caves and the hot springs.

We will be back to visit for sure!

5/5

One of the more expensive caravan parks we have stayed at.
$50 a night we picked a riverside site , close to the BBQ,, River and fire pot. Power and water.
Other sites are $5 a night cheaper.
So many rules.
No visitors, no exceptions.
No mats, don’t know how that works if you have a tent.
No rope washing lines.
If you don’t check out by 10am, you will incur another nights tariff
$6 for washing machine $6 for dryers.
Showers are very clean , but you need coins to get hot water, did not use as we are self contained

The devil feeding daily at 4pm was very informative.

Beautifully set but very expensive ($65 for a 4wd, $85 for motorhome). And you pay for showers -which only take $1 coins and office closed in evenings so no $1 coin, no shower. And no rubbish bins anywhere. You’d think for the prices charged they could throw in a free shower!

A very well maintained park ,however on arrival being told you must give a &50.00 dollar cash bond for each dog is a little over the top this was not mentioned on their website, staff were not friendly, no mats allowed in front of van but you can have a huge tent that has a floor in it ??? Can’t really see the logic in that. If you are travelling with your fur baby and pay the bond just ensure you don’t have to leave early office doesn’t open till 9.00 so you lose your dog bond ! For a camping site of 50.00 + per night you might expect to have a free shower not the case. Have travelled across Australia and have found much better, much friendlier caravan parks. Something positive the elderly gentleman that looks after the cows is lovely…….

We paid $200 for an on site van which is up there but we wanted to go for a night with some friends that were staying in their van for two nights. When we checked in at 2 pm was told check out was 10am which is fair enough so I said we’d check out but then stay with our friends on their site till lunch time…’ NO you won’t ‘ no visitors allowed…. But I just paid $200 for 20 hours surely a couple more hours won’t hurt anyone….. ‘NO you’ll be walking on the grass, you can pay a late check out fee of $30… I was totally shocked how unprofessional and unreasonable they were. sorry mate you’ll get no more money off me and I’m spreading the word to all my travelling friends….. still can’t believe how someone in tourism and hospitality can be so unreasonable and I apologise to any visitors to our beautiful Huon Valley if you encounter this unfriendly welcome…

A beautiful large park set beside a river with stunning mountain views.
This is one of the nicest parks I have stayed in.
They have a large central camp kitchen and bathroom facility. Note that showers need $1 coins, but my wife and I only needed one coin for our showers. The park has a working farm attached and has a Tassie Devil display that you can visit each day at 4pm

Excellent 10++++. Indiv I dual well marked sites with water , power a n d lovely grass.
River view sites have cement slabs big enough to put your van on and extend your awning so you're sitting on cement and if riverside viewing an incredible sight of a clean, flowing river.

If you want an aggressive, grumpy, money greedy old man who needs to retire to yell at you, I highly recommend this place. Expensive prices extremely basic amenities, no soap in the bathroom sinks, had to pay extra for showers that had poor water pressure and were slippery, and the the horrible smell of poo . I am not normally a complainer but the old man that works here needs to learn some customer service skills and overall some basic manners and human decency.

We are on a 4 week Tassie road trip, camping in tents as we go. We stayed here for 7 nights, paid initially for 5 and then extended for another 2 on a powered site by the river. Thought it a bit expensive but base on the size of the sites and the new amenities, thought it ok. We also thought is was a great location to base out of to explore southern Tasmania. We enjoyed 6 days and 23 hours of the stay, the last hour however.....

On the morning of our departure it was raining, we did our best to pack by 10 (trying to keep gear dry for use over the next 2 weeks). The owner was on our back to get off site ASAP as - he claimed - there were new vans waiting for the site. We cleared it by 11, he wanted an extra $20 for the late check out, despite not giving us the discount for staying for a week as advertised on his website!! We cleared it, drove outside, and then I attempted to walk back in to get changed (I was wet from packing in the rain). He approached me asking why I was going back inside, I gave him the $20 for the late checkout, he told me I could drive back in, I responded that I didn't wan to stay another minute. My wife told him to go buy a coffee with the extra $20 and calm down, he blew her a kiss. And there were no vans waiting for our spot.

Extremely rude owner, no flexibility, not honouring the discount for extended stays as advertised on the website. Don't go there

Thank you for pointing out our great location, large site sizes and well-kept amenities – as you have noted this reflect are pricing. As you would have seen on the Important Information Sheet you received at check-in, check-out time is 10am. It is also noted that checkout after 10am will incur another night’s tariff. As much as we would like to, we cannot control the weather. Whilst we can appreciate the annoyance of having to deal with wet pack up, it is your responsibility as adults to ensure that you meet the check-out time as noted. We wonder, would you expect to be able to check-out at a time that is more convenient to you if you were at a hotel? In response to your comment about discounts for extended stays, we do not and have not offered discounts nor is this noted on our website. Our price remains the same all year round and we do not inflate our price or give a select few a discount as every guest is important to us. You would have seen this information in the Reception office when you checked in.

One can't help the weather, better luck next time. The ammenities are placed high on stilts as are all the power outlets, so I imagine they would reopen fairly quickly.

The cost for a powered site for one night for 2 people is $38, if you stay more than one night we give a 10% discount, therefore the price would be $34 per night. Regards Leanne
