Stayed here for two nights last weekend. Very very impressed with the park- lush green grass areas overlooking the Huon River. We had a concrete site for our caravan- perfect. Amenities Block is the best I have seen in Tasmania. Was very quite due to travel restrictions however I would recommend this caravan park to all Tassie caravan, camper van travellers- go there. 15 minute walk to Huonville Main Street with shops, pub, supermarket etc. Many different birds and animals in the caravan park- great for children👍👍 Just go there- it’s brilliant.
The lovely owners stayed open for us to check in late. Lush green sites on the rivers edge. Fire pits, Webber bbqs and picnic tables were a bonus. Firewood on site to purchase was appreciated as was the awesome amenities. 5 star for cleanliness and layout. Only regret was we didn’t have longer to explore the area as we hit the road early for Salamanca markets (only 30 min drive from Hobart so great base if your looking for a chilled out caravan park. Oh and google maps took us 300 metres past the park entrance which was tricky navigating in the dark but no biggie, Campervans had to make a few u turns this trip but no regrets that we did for this park :)
Stayed in camper van here for 2 nights, our spot was overlooking the Mountain River with rippling pools, ducks, plovers, the occasional black swan. The setting is truly magnificent. Green lush lawns everywhere, surrounding mountains with tall eucalyptus stands, so so peaceful. The amenities are the best I’ve ever seen. Showers are $1 for 4 minutes but well worth it, clean spacious and hot. Amazing kitchen and laundry facilities. The Tassie devil feeding was of great interest and I admire these folk who are going their bit to help preserve these unique Aust animals. You can easily walk to the nearby village if Raneleagh with the superb summer kitchen bakery. All in all a fabulous stay
Stayed in this wonderful Caravan Park early March 2021, could not get over the lush green grass - like walking on a really thick green carpet. Coming from Perth WA such thick green grass is something that we don't ever see. Management were really good and the amenities first class! Part of the Huon River is a border and is frequented by water fowl as well as Platypus. Unfortunately, I only got to see the splash of the platypus, not the animal itself. A very important feature for Motorhomes / Caravans is the provision of a Dump Point which is located near the Reception. The amenities block is fairly new and is excellent! Large number of washing and drying machines which are fairly expensive but there are also clothes lines. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, our son was not able to come into the park so we had to meet him at the visitors car park. We will most likely stay there again next year.…
Stayed here for one night and it was GREAT. Very friendly greeting on arrival and helpful for local directions. Very nice riverfront site. Facilities probably the best we have encountered. Very clean and spacious. Big shower ($1.00 coin required for 4 mins), good laundry (which we did not use). Nice area for communal cooking. Free view of feeding Tassie Devils at 4:00 each day. Sign for platypus viewing but we did not see any here ( go to Geeveston to see them!). Dump station on site.
