My family of five has three teenage daughters and Pearce’s cottage was perfect. Three bedrooms, two lovely bathrooms, a great kitchen, lounge and dining areas. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and well maintained. A great washing machine and dryer were a bonus. It is 10 minutes drive to Launceston, but breakfast supplies, beautiful accommodation and very reasonable rates make it worth the drive.
My partner & I stayed two nights in the Loft. From the second we arrived, the lovely host Lydia was welcoming and warm. The gardens and room looked picturesque of the French countryside and were stunning. The loft was cosy and warm, and I actually preferred staying 10mins drive out of Launceston rather than in the city centre. The drive into Launceston was easy and quiet and it was no trouble finding parks when in the city. Everything about our stay was lovely! Would 100% recommend and return.
Such an amazing place to stay in the village of Hadspen a short drive from Launceston. In a historic building that has been perfectly restored we had two very good nights in The Loft. There is breakfast provided in the room of toast, yoghurt and granola. All we needed. On the second night we ate in the Red Feather restaurant and it was delicious. Served in the converted barn next door. Highly recommended.
Just returned from a short break in Tassie, and had 2 nights at the Red Feathers. Lovely location in the beautiful village of Hadspen, with gorgeous gardens surrounding the place. We stayed in the attic room, which is pure luxury, very spacious, comfy bed and a fabulous bathroom. The staff here are fabulous, you feel like you've walked into a friends house, and the welcome is honest, warm and genuine. We had dinner in the little restaurant, which was a 2 or 3 course set menu, and prepared by a lovely lady, who spent time chatting with us. I thoroughly recommend, and also their sister property for a drink and a bite, the Clarendon Arms. Excellent!
We decided to stay at the Red Feather Inn because I was looking to stay in Georgian style accommodation, reminiscent of what you'd find in the English countryside. The stone building, lush green English style garden and orchard all reminded me of the Cotswolds. It certainly didn't disappoint. We stayed a night in the Loft room which was furnished beautifully. The bed was comfy and there a was a table and chair by the window overlooking the garden. The bathroom had beautiful big flagstones on the floor which were very appropriate for a building of this era. The Molton Brown (Made in England) toiletries were a nice touch. There was a nice big bath tub as well. I'd have loved a claw foot cast iron bath tub with English tapware, but I'm just being (incredibly) picky. The view from the window over the English style garden and looking towards the original Georgian era coaching inn was great. Breakfast was included with the room, and was ready for us in the fridge to have the following morning. There's not a whole lot to do in Hadspen itself, but Launceston is close by and has a number of restaurants and cafes. There is a restaurant on site for those staying Thursday to Saturday. Would definitely recommend to those looking for a beautiful country stay reminiscent of the English countryside.…
