I stayed for two nights , with my partner to celebrate my 60th Birthday . Previously, we’ve stayed at luxury resorts up and down the east coast of this great country, and we’ve often been disappointed by various aspects of these high price point establishments. However, on this occasion, l could not find any faults. It’s certainly not a place for those looking for a low cost holiday, but l actually found staying here, good value for money, It’s all inclusive, and l found the food and beverages provided were at a ‘high standard’. The service delivered was perfect. The accommodation was perfect. This was a perfect venue for my special birthday, and l thank all the staff who helped make it so special. The challenge for management, will be to sustain this very high standard into the future. I was so impressed, me and mine are book to stay for four days, over the Christmas period.

We were not residents but we were able to visit Saffire Freycinet as guests and to attend their tours and enjoy a superb meal at the restaurant. The service and friendliness of all the staff was absolutely amazing. We very much enjoyed our time at Saffire and very much appreciated the privilege and opportunity to experience the resort, its tours and its amenities.

This is one of the best hotels my wife and I have visited. We had a marvellous time. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was superb with almost anything you asked for able to be provided. The room we had was very large, very well appointed and had a great view. A real highlight was a half day Schouten Island trip by boat were we saw seals, a pod of dolphins, a school of tuna and whales. All in all highly recommended.

It is a beautifully designed place to look like a stingray. Wide open spaces and large windows to take in the views of coles bay and the hills in the background. The service is impeccable and nothing is too much for them. The degustation menu of course changes from day to day but is brilliant. There are a number of activities that you can partake in if you so wish or you could just chill out. Being non drinkers meant we could not fully participate in what they have to offer but that is our loss.

You can see by the other reviews this place is outstanding and clearly the best I have stayed in. Obviously the food and drinks are great and the accommodation and views are to die for but all the staff were top notch and clearly trained to the highest level. They seem to know all about you and your excursions you’ve been on know when you are out of your room to clean it etc. I had to smile when our waitstaff called me by the wrong name and when I corrected her they were mortified rushed off to probably get my ‘dossier’. ( I say this in the nicest way ) Recommend it to everyone that wants to splurge and indulge.

Response from Ross Boobyer, General Manager at Saffire Freycinet

Dear Aussiekiki, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of your experience at Saffire. I am so thrilled that you enjoyed it so much and that while the views are to die for as much as the food and the beverage it is the team that truly make this a very special place. I also had to smile reading your comments about our team member who mixed up your name, they must have picked up the wrong 'dossier', my apologies. Thank you again and I hope to welcome you back to the beautiful east coast of Tasmania one day soon. best regards, Ross
