This location is truly outstanding, right on the beach including the amazing Tessellated Pavement. The older part of the hotel is basic. Our room was small overlooking the car park with a tiny double bed. The bathroom had been refurbished which was nice. It was only$120 per night so really can’t complain about price. Our daughter’s rooms faced the sea and much better. The public spaces are basic apart the great view from the dining room. The food is ok. Service is super friendly and obliging. Despite the ‘average’ rating we will be back and next time try the apartments which are newer and look good.

We booked this hotel just for a random night to see what the local area would be like! Loved it. Eagle Hawk Neck is stunning, we enjoyed it way more than expected, all within walking distance or a short drive.

We booked a premium 2 bed spa room and it was a great little apartment. The view of the bay is perfect and nice way to relax in the afternoon. A few quirks in the room such as the tiny shower screen, or the pillows on the bed, but all just minor things. For the price we paid and the location I think it's great value for money.

The restaurant has a great view also, decent local wine list, the food was a bit hit and miss depending on what was ordered. However it was super convenient as it is a remote location and not a lot of options otherwise.

I'd love to come back again.

We’re happy to get a last minute room but staff member on reception not very welcoming. Rooms a little tired but comfy enough with sea views. Bar staff and wait staff very friendly but felt very understaffed on the night and rushed off their feet. Our shower didn’t work, but they were very apologetic and worked out the issue later that day. Food ok, nothing to rave about....but morning staff very friendly again. A confusing experience as individual staff mostly lovely but think management could have more on?

I booked a week in advance, which may have been a bit late as our Premium King Studio was on the ground floor & at the very corner of the building, so the ocean views were minimal. I'd recommend booking earlier & an upstairs room as I'd imagine the views to be fantastic given that the Hotel is right across the road from the beach.
The room was very clean & the linen of excellent quality.
The room was self contained & had the usual stuff, but the two in one washer dryer was impressive as was the dishwasher - not that I used either, but great if you're staying a few days.
The sliding door led out to a covered area which had a table, two chairs & even a thoughtfully placed ashtray. If you are a smoker you are well catered for here even if it's raining, as being downstairs, the room above covered the outdoor area. But, if you're planning on being outside after dusk, be sure to bring the Mozzie Spray as they are vicious.
The accommodation could not be faulted.
Of interest nearby is the Officers Quarters Museum which is most informative & a monument to the dogs that served on the infamous Dog Line. * If you're driving to the Dog Line, park at the local community hall & you'll find the monument a short stroll away.

We stayed in this hotel for one night on a trip around Tasmania in April. Our room was a ground floor apartment, very well maintained with a large bedroom, King Size bed (a little firm for us), TV and settee. The kitchenette had a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and small table and chairs. The bathroom was a good size. WiFi was good, iron and hair dryer supplied. Continental breakfast was supplied due to no buffet breakfasts at the time. Outdoor parking on-site. Good restaurant on site and helpful staff.

This place was welcoming on the onset. Accomodation was perfect and the views to be seen to be believed.
We were in a disability room huge hallway door stop making it easy for a wheelchair to get in without the heavy doors closing. (wheelchair friendly) bathroom was ideal with shower chair and rails.
Food was lovely though we did not have the seafood. Plenty of it and the vegies were cooked perfectly(for us)

All in all a Great spot.
Highly recommend

Ordered a Chicken Parmy ($32) and crumbed 'local fish' ($28). Fish appeared to pre-package blue grenadier over-overcooked and the parmy completely underwhelming. At least the Tassie Sav Blanc was good.

Staff completely confused as to what they were doing.

We booked a, Queen room with sea view for our 2 day visit to the peninsular.
First up, customer service. We were made exceedingly welcome at reception and this set the standard for the whole trip. Service in the restaurant and bar was helpful, friendly and attentive.
The location of the hotel is stunning. Just up from the beach and the tessekated pavement and a perfect base for exploring the peninsular. The room was bright, airy and our only criticism would be the lack of storage for clothes.
A scenic, quality and great value base from which to tour the area. The continental breakfast was amazing value.

Pro: Great location! Close to Port Arthur and a lot of lookouts. Exceptional views to the ocean!

Con: the reception lady checked us in was a bit rude and judgemental.. Not sure if she was being judgemental because I’m an Asian or we are a homosexual couple. But we felt judged and uncomfortable. The walls are really thin so you could hear everything from the other room. The desk in our our was glued into the wall so you can’t close the curtain properly. The curtain is not thick enough to cover the sunlight so the room gets bright early in the morning. There is no lift so it’s not suitable for people in wheelchair..

The room was very old, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, we all woke up from the little sleep we got with sore backs. When the kettle was boiled there was an electrical burning smell, both heat pumps were unbearably noisy, the shower was in a very small unsafe bath with a badly rounded base and only got to a fast dribble at best - forget washing shampoo out of your hair, because it won’t happen! The rooms looked nothing like the photos it was very misleading. Definitely over priced at $195/night! I’ve stayed in far better rooms for less than $100/night. I would not recommend this place. The staff must know it’s bad, we were not even asked on checkout how our stay was.
