Corn Cottage is an absolute find. It’s our second visit and I am hesitant to pay it the compliments it is due because we aim to return again this year and hope we will be able to book!! It is a beautifully equipped cottage, very spacious and a five minute walk to the owner’s Wildlife Garden and Nature Reserve in Lower Bruckland. The cottage is within eight to ten miles of many Devon towns and attractions. David and Joe, the owners of Lower Bruckland Farm, are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. If you are looking for a quiet, restful break with lots of places, restaurants etc within easy reach , Corn Cottage is ideal. We will return!!!

Spent three nights here at the start of our tour of Tassie. The cottage is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and well equipped. The owner, Deborah, is warm and friendly. Because we were delayed, she emailed instructions on how to access the property and came to greet us later. We were provided with plentiful and scrumptious breakfast provisions, including bacon and eggs. The cottage also had the advantage of a washing machine, which is really useful when on a lengthy touring holiday. Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow us to make use of the lovely garden and barbecue facilities.

Response from cameo12, Owner at Devonport Bed and Breakfast - Cameo Cottage
Responded 17 July 2017
Thanks for your positive feedback. We have certainly experienced some extremely cold weather this winter. Sounds like I need to turn the heaters on a bit earlier next time prior to checkin. I'll also advise guests to leave the gas heater on during their stay as its safe to do so. And yes, I can't resist buying quality linen for Cameo.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cameo Cottage. Owner Deborah has the cottage very well appointed with everything you need for a lovely holiday. The cottage is beautifully clean and felt like a home away from home. A well stocked pantry with all the staples, plenty of big fluffy towels for the bathroom, yummy homemade biscuits and generous breakfast provisions (including home-grown tomatoes). There was a great selection of dvd movies to choose from, much to the delight of our little boy! We arrived in the evening by boat with our car. Deborah provided us with excellent directions to navigate our way in the dark. When we arrived we were greeted by Deborah who had very thoughtfully turned on the heater and popped the kettle on. After a long journey it was the perfect welcome on a cold Autumn night. From start to finish it was a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay again when visiting Devonport.

One of our relatives stayed here a couple of years ago and recommended it. What a delightful place to spend a night. Large, half a house, beautifully appointed, spectacular garden to mooch in and a superb arrangement of fare for breakfast. We were on our own and not bothered with the owner, apart from booking in. Quite quaint to hear the Tasmanian ferry bowing it's foghorn in the early morning on the way back to the mainland. One of the best B&B's we've been to. Actually September last year not December

Stayed 3 nights & was very comfortable the whole time. Nice little touches everywhere. Yes, no wifi, but didn't notice. Great location, but very quiet & private. Will be first choice when we next stay in Devonport.

Loved the cottage. Deborah, our host, had thought of everything. From the complimentary port, to the manicure kit, to the homemade biscuits, all little extras that made us feel at home. The cottage was spotlessly clean, the beds so comfortable and luxurious linen and plentiful towels. Could not fault anything.

This is a lovely home to stay in Devonport. Deborah was present to welcome & brief us on the amenities in the home. She had taken time to decorate it for Christmas, which was a nice touch. She also gave some suggestions on what to do in the area, including watching for penguins at the Lillico Beach Conservation Centre. With the heaters and electric blankets in every bed, you don’t have to worry even if the weather turns cold in the night. As mentioned by another reviewer, this B&B is more like an airBnB arrangement where the owner provides the house and food in the fridge, which included bacon and eggs. Our positive experience in this home was only marred by one thing. There is no wifi in the house. In this day & age & with teenagers with us, that is glaring omission. With no wifi, one can watch old movies from the collection of DVDs in the house.

We were recommended by friends to stay here, what a gem. Cameo cottage is tucked away in a quiet street, with its own parking, but in walking distance to just about anywhere. An ideal location. The cottage itself has lovely high ceilings, two ample sized bedrooms, comfortable lounge, open kitchen and lovely newly fitted bathroom. The facilities are well thought through, there is everything you could need. The fridge had been stocked with bacon and gags, apple juice and bread and milk. Along with a selection of coffees and teas, we needed for nothing. Spotlessly clean throughout, with fluffy towels provided. Cameo cottage is an ideal little retreat and the owner is a charming and friendly lady who makes sure that your comfort is amply catered for. Don't look for any other accommodation if you are staying in Devonport!

Although listed as a B&B, it's really a house rental where the owner provides great food in the fridge for your stay. Do you like the colours blue, green and lilac? Yes? Then rent this. This two bedroom cottage that sleeps three was a delight to stay in for a weekend. The place is quiet, nicely tucked away from the main road at the front. Garden was in full bloom and proved a popular spot to read a book. The provided food was excellent: range of teas, coffee, bread, orange juice, bacon, etc. We had a few unusual requests during our stay, which the owner accommodated without fuss. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.
