Detailed Reviews
So convenient when disembarking from the Spirit. Everything clean and tidy although a little dated. On arrival we were given a site that our van would not fit because there was a concrete drain right in the middle. We just went back to office and we’re swapped to another site no trouble. Not sure what we would have done if the park was full. Would recommend to family and friends and stay at again

Cannot speak for the cabins but our stay on a powered site was fine. It was our last day after 4 weeks of Tasmanian Caravan Parks and camp grounds. The man at the reception was helpful and friendly. The bathrooms are clean and shower stalls have enough room, some hooks and smart new shower curtains. Just needs a rubber mat to make it perfect. Water was hot and shower worked!!! So often it's a few sharp sprays in the wrong direction. Gardens are neat and powered site had a concrete slap to step out on to. So important in this land of lush green and WET lawn. Laundry good value but camp kitchen definitely needs an upgrade. Great to find a nice dog friendly camp ground.

We booked here for a variety of reasons. (1) It was very close to the ferry terminal - however the reality is that one should not check in until midday and the ferry arrives soon after sunrise, and one had discarded all fresh produce because of quarantine regulations and so wants to shop. This park is on the eastern banks of the Mersey River and the town CBD is on the western bank. However, we drove to the city side and hung about, parking our caravan rig on a fat spot along the shoreline until shops opened up then checked in soon after 10 am and the very friendly warm reception did not bat an eyelid. The amenities are old but have been redecorated and are very clean and well appointed. The location is right on the beach river confluence and well situated. (2) The price is fair. We were quite satisfied with our choice.

We stayed two separate nights in this park in our slide-on camper. One on arrival from the day ferry crossing from Melbourne and the other before our return day trip.
It suited us well. The nice lady in reception was most helpful both on the phone reassuring me about after hours arrival and again when we checked in.
The location is very handy - only a couple of minutes from the ferry terminal, our well grassed site was more than adequate for our needs and the older, but clean and well maintained, amenities served the purpose well.
Although we hired powered sites, the unpowered area adjacent to the water looked most roomy and attractive.

After an extremely rough day sailing on the Spirit, all we really wanted was a nice warm shower and a comfy bed.
The lady at reception had upgraded us to a newly renovated family cabin, the heater was on and it was so warm and welcoming.
I would definitely stay there again, no hesitation.
I will also recommend to anyone who asks!!
Thank you for a wonderful start to our family holiday.

While it was clean and well enough equipped, our cabin was so old and very shabby. We had rough and noisy neighbours. There is usually something positive to say but in this case I cannot. OK, the grass was nicely mown. I would not mind so much if it was very cheap, but it was not. I suggest you avoid Hotel Abel Tasman Caravan Park.

Sadly I have to say we were very disappointed with our accommodation. We stayed in a 'deluxe' cabin but there certainly was nothing deluxe about it. Apart from needing a renovation the old fixtures looked unclean. The bathroom is very very small and uninviting. The outside rubbish bins were overflowing and we were glad to leave.

Well,Rang to check if pet friendly was told in a arrogant tone "Do you know what time it is?"
Approxiamtely 8.30pm at night.
In the 21st Century most business owners have a answering machine stating clearly office hours and tell the customer to ring back at these times.
They do not abused their customers on the phone about the time !
Get into the 21st century Abel Tasman!

From my first point of contact the lady on the phone was just so welcoming, we had been to Devonport a few times and stayed in hotels but for us this was the first time in a caravan park. The gardens are delightful and when we checked in the lady was again fantastic. She gave us all the information on what to do and see around the place. We took a Deluxe Cabin which was not as nice as a hotel but it was warm, spacious just the bathrooms were smaller( Probably the only fault with our entire stay). Further more there was a free BBQ and access to the beach was about 30 steps from our cabin. I would defiantly recommend the caravan park to any one. P.S. Helen's review was not helpful to me as I found the park to be immaculate outside and the inside of the cabin was clean despite it's age(10 year's old i would guess?)
