Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here as a group of 20+ campers, after a week hiking at Cradle Mountain, before boarding the Spirit of Tasmania to Geelong (a ten minute walk from the caravan park). Hot showers in clean amenities blocks, a grassy spot to pitch our tents, intel on good, local pizza delivery, super affordable and friendly service. Couldn't ask for more than that!

We checked in here after coming off the Spirit of Tasmania day sailing. Arrived at the park at about 7.00, check in was very simple, lady in the office was very friendly. We had booked a one bedroom cabin, our host had turned the heating on for us, so was very welcoming. Our cabin was quite small but very comfortable. Bedding was very clean, bed and pillows very comfortable. Towels were fluffy, there was not any toiletries provided. Tea, Coffee and milk was provided. This park is very easy to find after coming off the spirit, it is on the same side of the river. There is a supermarket just down the road that is open until 8.00pm, so you can call in there and get something to heat up for dinner, or over the other side of the river there is a lot of choices. All things considered it was a great option for our one night stay before heading off on the rest of our holiday.

So convenient when disembarking from the Spirit. Everything clean and tidy although a little dated. On arrival we were given a site that our van would not fit because there was a concrete drain right in the middle. We just went back to office and we’re swapped to another site no trouble. Not sure what we would have done if the park was full. Would recommend to family and friends and stay at again

After an extremely rough day sailing on the Spirit, all we really wanted was a nice warm shower and a comfy bed. The lady at reception had upgraded us to a newly renovated family cabin, the heater was on and it was so warm and welcoming. I would definitely stay there again, no hesitation. I will also recommend to anyone who asks!! Thank you for a wonderful start to our family holiday.

We stayed two separate nights in this park in our slide-on camper. One on arrival from the day ferry crossing from Melbourne and the other before our return day trip. It suited us well. The nice lady in reception was most helpful both on the phone reassuring me about after hours arrival and again when we checked in. The location is very handy - only a couple of minutes from the ferry terminal, our well grassed site was more than adequate for our needs and the older, but clean and well maintained, amenities served the purpose well. Although we hired powered sites, the unpowered area adjacent to the water looked most roomy and attractive.

While it was clean and well enough equipped, our cabin was so old and very shabby. We had rough and noisy neighbours. There is usually something positive to say but in this case I cannot. OK, the grass was nicely mown. I would not mind so much if it was very cheap, but it was not. I suggest you avoid Hotel Abel Tasman Caravan Park.

We booked in here for 3 night with our caravan before catching the ferry back to the mainland. The sites are small ( we have 20 foot caravan) and the A-frame is almost on the road when parked within the site ( lucky we were the only van and could use more space ) You have options to what service you want on the service side of your van, the power and water services aren’t together, you either need to have long hose or long power cable. The bathrooms are clean and tidy but quite dated and in need of some love as with most of the park, entrance to park is quite uninviting and advertises wifi when there wasn’t any.

Stayed in a cabin. It was clean & tidy, ample for what was expected. Check-in was super organised with friendly nice staff. Everything seems family friendly. Nice playground right on the water too, connected by a locked gate to the park. I could see it getting VERY cold in the cabins during winter...

Cabin freezing, looked for heater, found a little 4 bar dimplex, pathetic! About a 1200w to warm the whole 2 bedrooms.we froze all night, poor curtians allowed real cold air to come in unopposed, had a hot shower the hot knob fell off into the bottom of the shower, real trouble to turn off. Bed had roll together, uncomfortable, rolls on the lino floor when we got into it, a cold OLD junky building, how can they charge for this beats me. Left at 6.15am for a warm coffee and warmer enviroment at Mcdonalds
