Busy restaurant so we expected a long wait....to our surprise no long wait. My food was as I requested nicely battered fish and crunchy chips. My husband had twin Mignon Beef/Chicken and was a lot less than I had and I had a half meal. It cost twice as much as mine, so he was disappointed.

The hotel is great. Food, bars & staff couldn't have been better. The rooms.ugh. Mouldy showers, filthy clogged exhaust fans, torn curtains that don't close.Skid marks in the toilet bowl on arrival. All the rooms I saw were all the same. Shower with your boots on. Looks like young backpackers pay for their board by "cleaning" the rooms. It was pointed out to management so lets hope it improves. It deserves to. Its a top spot.

We have just returned from a meal at the Eli. We have not eaten there for a number of years and we had fond memories of our previous meals eaten there. As it was a meal to celebrate Mothers Day we booked a table for two the day before to be sure to get seating and we asked for a window seat. On arrival we were asked if booked to which we answered that we had. Our booking was not found so we were placed on an out of the way table against a wall. We were impressed with the bar staff member who was patient and knowledgeable about her wines. The young women who took our order was courteous and polite also. We were the first to order our meal - my husband had a surf and turf fillet steak which he wanted medium and I had a seafood catch both meals were just under $30 each. The meals arrived quicker than we expected and when they did we knew why. My husbands steak was rare and the prawns on top of the steak undercooked and my seafood catch some of the seafood was just warm and not cooked through, even the chips were lukewarm. We were very disappointed and this meal spoilt our fond memories of a place where we have celebrated lots of family occasions. The whole place looked tired and in need of a bit of tlc. Very sad really as the location is a lovely spot.

We were 2 couples and stayed in the newly renovated upstairs hotel. The room was new and well equipped for a hotel room, comfortable bed and there was no noise from the hotel and very minimal from the street.
We booked direct and the Manager was very helpful and obliging as were most of the staff.
We also attended their Melbourne Cup lunch, which was beaut, and had Dinner that night. The meals were a cut above Pub food.
All in all a very well run Pub.

We knew this was budget accommodation and weren't expecting anything fancy, but we did expect to get a good nights sleep. Boy, how wrong we were. We were put right next to the laundry room, so with paper thin walls we had washing machines and dryers going all night on one side and a group of extremely loud people on the other side. With one shared outdoor area - right out the front next to the cars, we could hear every word the group said (sounded more like yelling) and we could smell their cigarette smoke coming in under the door. We ended up having to bunch up the towels and shove them under the huge gap below the door, although this didn't really seem to help. When they finally went to bed we could continue to hear them talking and every move they made.
The car park is a nighmare, there are no designated spaces so people were parking anywehere and everywhere, and came and went all night long. We could hear car doors slammed out the front of our room every hour.

The inside was nicer than expected, but with no powerpoint next to the bed, a rock hard bed and the buzzing fridge were all very annoying.
Would never stay here again, and would recommend you avoid it too.

I have travelled extensively and this accommodation is by far the worst. Stayed twice on occasions weeks apart. Never again.
If you want a good sleep forget this place. The control over a long term residents obnoxious behaviour is totally lacking.

We came off the Spirit of Tassie and fortunately only stayed for 1 night. The decor was horrible, the bathroom wasn't clean and the double bed was so old that it sunk in the middle. Not a great start to our holiday around Tassie... In hindsight, we shouldve stayed in our Kombie!

After opening the front door, my wife and I proceeded slowly, noting the disturbing evidence like a CSI crime scene. Smelly room, stained upholstery, sheets damp, not crisp like freshly laundered ones, hair left on the pillow, unwashed teaspoon, grubby sink, thick grime in the corners of the bathroom, a mat of hair in the shower drain. Conveniently, there was a busy bottle shop in the motel car park, so we could drown our sorrows (if not the noise).

If this review was based upon the staff - it would be glowing, no complaints there.

The stay however, was not enjoyable for a few reasons:
- The car park is a problem waiting to happen. The lack of defined parks allows anyone to park anywhere, potentially obstructing other cars. We had a lot of random car doors slammed right in front of our room, which brings me to my next point...
- The walls are basically paper-thin. We could hear the guy next door to us snoring as if he was in bed with us, conversations from the other wall sounded like they were happening in the room, and our post-travel sleep-in was disrupted by a 6am shower next door, which managed to drown out the sound of our whiny fridge!!
- The best part about the room visually was the modern bed-head, and that's it. The painted brick, and old vertical blinds gave me classroom vibes. And the kmart accessories/furnishings screamed 'budget' (the furniture assembly stickers hadn't even been removed!)

I know it's not marketed as the fanciest place in Devonport, but some pride wouldn't go astray either. Neither would powerpoints next to the bed (you know, for convenience) or some kind of soundproofing!! I feel for our neighbours who MUST'VE had to endure the trashy TV we watched at 10pm...

Free WiFi does not work at the motel. The beds are hard as rocks. The door doesn’t stay shut. You have to put something in front of it or it’s going to bang all night. No air conditioning. The gap below the door is enough you can put your hand through it. It’s noisy. Everyone talking outside sounds like a party. The staff cleaning rooms and yelling across the property at 07:30am. The Bistro is highly overpriced. The only good thing I can say is it’s close to McDonald’s. Never staying here again.
