Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Busy restaurant so we expected a long wait....to our surprise no long wait. My food was as I requested nicely battered fish and crunchy chips. My husband had twin Mignon Beef/Chicken and was a lot less than I had and I had a half meal. It cost twice as much as mine, so he was disappointed.

I have travelled extensively and this accommodation is by far the worst. Stayed twice on occasions weeks apart. Never again. If you want a good sleep forget this place. The control over a long term residents obnoxious behaviour is totally lacking.

We knew this was budget accommodation and weren't expecting anything fancy, but we did expect to get a good nights sleep. Boy, how wrong we were. We were put right next to the laundry room, so with paper thin walls we had washing machines and dryers going all night on one side and a group of extremely loud people on the other side. With one shared outdoor area - right out the front next to the cars, we could hear every word the group said (sounded more like yelling) and we could smell their cigarette smoke coming in under the door. We ended up having to bunch up the towels and shove them under the huge gap below the door, although this didn't really seem to help. When they finally went to bed we could continue to hear them talking and every move they made. The car park is a nighmare, there are no designated spaces so people were parking anywehere and everywhere, and came and went all night long. We could hear car doors slammed out the front of our room every hour. The inside was nicer than expected, but with no powerpoint next to the bed, a rock hard bed and the buzzing fridge were all very annoying. Would never stay here again, and would recommend you avoid it too.

If this review was based upon the staff - it would be glowing, no complaints there. The stay however, was not enjoyable for a few reasons: - The car park is a problem waiting to happen. The lack of defined parks allows anyone to park anywhere, potentially obstructing other cars. We had a lot of random car doors slammed right in front of our room, which brings me to my next point... - The walls are basically paper-thin. We could hear the guy next door to us snoring as if he was in bed with us, conversations from the other wall sounded like they were happening in the room, and our post-travel sleep-in was disrupted by a 6am shower next door, which managed to drown out the sound of our whiny fridge!! - The best part about the room visually was the modern bed-head, and that's it. The painted brick, and old vertical blinds gave me classroom vibes. And the kmart accessories/furnishings screamed 'budget' (the furniture assembly stickers hadn't even been removed!) I know it's not marketed as the fanciest place in Devonport, but some pride wouldn't go astray either. Neither would powerpoints next to the bed (you know, for convenience) or some kind of soundproofing!! I feel for our neighbours who MUST'VE had to endure the trashy TV we watched at 10pm...

Pub accomodation. Bathroom needs a severe update and if I'm honest we would have booked anywhere else that weekend if we could have. Staff were friendly but at the end of the day, the room smelled like a pub

Free WiFi does not work at the motel. The beds are hard as rocks. The door doesn’t stay shut. You have to put something in front of it or it’s going to bang all night. No air conditioning. The gap below the door is enough you can put your hand through it. It’s noisy. Everyone talking outside sounds like a party. The staff cleaning rooms and yelling across the property at 07:30am. The Bistro is highly overpriced. The only good thing I can say is it’s close to McDonald’s. Never staying here again.

The room is very dated, 60’s or 70’s, but in a prime location. Quiet though it is attached to the bar. Budget hotel and do its job. Easy check in and out. The toilet is noisy, and I had to close the doors, definitely need some work. Nice staff and service.

We stayed in a large room able to sleep 5. This is a budget hotel and we paid a great, low price. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable, particularly the beds. We were able to check in late (Spirit of Tasmania was very late). Only complaint was the water pressure in the shower.

The room was freezing. Middle of winter temperatures and they have a non-closing glass louvered window in the toilet - also you cannot shut the toilet room door. The air conditioner never worked and they supplied a tiny heater which did very little to help. The fact that the wind blew under the front door like a gale never helped. The room was dirty, cracks everywhere and totally disgusting. How they have the cheek to put people into these conspditions is a disgrace. Don’t even think about staying there!!!!
