We were isolated by the government at the Sunrise due to corona virus, so it wasn't a normal stay for us. But we had such a great experience there, I wanted to leave a review. Our room was great!! Very spacious and comfortable with plenty of light. We also had a small kitchenette with everything you'd need for a short stay. Wi-Fi worked great, even with the higher demand of bored isolaters! All the staff were really friendly, especially Helen who always made some time to chat with us, despite all her work. They even went to the extra effort of going out each day to get things for us from the shops. Once we are all able to travel freely again, I highly recommend the Sunrise for your time in NW Tasmania.
My visit this time has been a little different to my normal stays as this time I, along with several others, were allocated this property to Isolate. Well I feel I drew the lucky straw. The staff here have been very sympathetic to our position and have done every thing to make our 14 day stay as smooth and relaxing as possible. The rooms are well appointed and very clean, that's thanks to the dedicated staff. Our meals that have come out of the restaurant have been great with good variety, I can say I am lucky to be allocated this property for forced isolation, but I will be returning when things settled down to thank the Sunrise Crew for their hospitality and to experience the property under normal conditions and to also experience the onsite Camille Restaurant.
You hear about awesome Tasmania, well this motel is a hidden gem. The care that the owners go to to make sure your stay is so relaxed and care free that nothing is to much to ask Make sure you go to the Camille restaurant and get spoilt by Simon and his crew, he is sure to spoil you and make you want to go for a repeat. I think you will be happy with the service and cost of staying at the Sunrise
Though we reached late in the evening and left around 10 in the morning next day, the stay has been peaceful and comfortable. The town itself is very slow and calm. Most of the restaurants open for few hours in the evening. If you are looking for action the city is not for you. but if you enjoy the nature and peace it is simply wonderful.
Had a fantastic stay with Sunrise! The staff were welcoming and the rooms were clean and confortable and the breakfast just made this place great value for the money. I'm not one for sitting down to dinner by myself but on this occasion I could'nt resist the French restaurant and it didnt disappoint, great food and staff which made dinner for one very enjoyable. Thanks, l will be back. Cheers Nick
Had awesome customer service, brilliant breakfast options (particularly the pancake maker for kids) included and well maintained and serviced rooms for a family with a very competitive price. Located away from the centre of the town which suited our family making it very quiet.
Sunrise is 2 minutes walk from the beach. It has comfortable rooms and scrumptious continental breakfast. There is even a coffee machine in the room if you're a coffee lover. It also has a lovely French restaurant (Camille's) on its premises serving up delicious French food for dinner. From the motel you can walk to the beach, watch the sunrise or sunset and hike to the lighthouse when the weather is nice. Highly recommended !
This motel was fully booked so I would suggest you book in advance. There is a restaurant on site which specialises in French cuisine. Although we did not eat at the restaurant the prices seemed reasonable. The continental breakfast was included in the price when you book. We has a family suite with 2 rooms and 2 televisions. Beds were comfortable and the complimentary bottles of water were most welcome. All in all it was a pleasant stay and an easy driver to Devonport.
We were upgraded to a room (29) on the first floor. It was ok. Plenty of space but the bed was a bit lumpy. Also, the upstairs room,s were accessed by a very steep and long concrete staircase where the steps were very narrow. We had to be very careful going down. The cistern kept going for ages even after i switched the water off.The breakfast was ok. It was a continental breakfast, although the coffee was pretty ordinary but that's an individuals taste. Overall, the place was ok without being spectacular.
From the complimentary breakfast, the coffee pod machines in the rooms, to Camille the french Bistro, very close to the beach and waterfront walking path into town, this hotel has a lot going for it. My elderly parents stayed in a spacious family room and enjoyed the comfort, space, peace and quietness, plus the wonderful staff always ready to help. Ample parking made it easy for getting the walking frame in and out of car :)
