Had a lovely time staying here for one night. The executive suite room was lovely with a beautiful view. Staff were great including tracking down my phone charger that I left in the room and returning it to me. Highly recommend this hotel.

Couldn’t fault them! Extremely clean, with friendly service and good amenities during our four day stay over the new year period when they were at full capacity. The rooms were very quiet, even n New Year’s Eve. The Novotel s located right in the CBD so everything you need in the city is in walking distance.
Parking the car in the council
car park was no problem either. When we checked in, we were given a swipe card so we could come and go from the council car park at any time. Breakfast was included during our stay and the breakfast manager and all of her staff were very welcoming, attentive and accommodating, offering a wide variety of beautiful foods in a calm, quiet and relaxing environment to start the day, even though the hotel was at full capacity. If I was to request anything additional, it would be a freezer section in the room fridge to freeze our ice bricks for the esky and access to fresh air in the rooms, but now I’m being picky. We will happily return next time we stay in Devonport.

It was our first time in Davonport and we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel standard. Our room was reasonably spacious, clean and tidy. Staff at the reception desk who checked us in was very welcoming and helpful. The only down side is that the hotel put a charge on the still water in the fridge, which made our eyes rolled when we received the bill!!

Good location in Center of city , opposite Spirit of Tasmania & close to mall , pubs , restaurants, shops etc. Clean comfortable rooms.
Good A/C .
however!
Ammenities limited for a Novotel- no toothbrush etc .
Room doors have NO soft close hinge which causes a cacophony of bangs & wall shuddering each time any room within 15meters goes in or out.
And this is the kicker:
Only option to park in hotel is $25 Valet parking! (Seriously in small Devonport? ) Otherwise $10 a 5 min walk up the road in a public parking facility which is NOT secure ! . Which is once only exit! Otherwise you pay again! Total bulltish!
No drink voucher given to Accor high level member as well.
Will not stay here in future.

A new hotel so modern and stylish, however the rooms are small and the bathrooms tiny! Definitely only 1 person can fit in at a time and even then you have to wrangle to door to ensure you can actually get yourself in!
The curtains are not heavy, meaning the room was very light for sleeping.
There are only minimal on site parks resulting in having to park 2 blocks away in a public carpark. Less than ideal & not at all secure.

Response from Ana Royal, General Manager at Novotel Devonport
Responded 28 Aug 2023
Greetings 153sarahjanem, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am sorry to hear that the size of the bathroom did not meet your expectations. While compact, the bathrooms are designed to be an efficient use of space with good functionality. I am sorry to hear that this did not meet your expectations. interested to hear that we have recently implemented a Valet Parking service which is available at $25 per night. You can also rest assured that the offsite parking is well monitored with security guards patrolling regularly overnight. I am surprised to hear your comment about the curtains as all rooms are equipped with black-out curtains and have not had any comments that these are not functioning as well as we would expect previously. We will review the curtains in each room to see if there are any that are not installed correctly. Thank you for feedback and we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future. Kind ergards, Ana Royal General Manager

gh40 back on Trip Advisor after a long break- time to smash the Hospitality slash Tourism sector back into shape in case they haven't noticed the COL issues are making us nervous about just throwing our tax dollars into their spacious and cavernous foyers which don't resemble the rooms we get at all in the slightest.
Agree with reviewer June 2023- all night thumping techno music from Club in mall comes into your room despite double gazing / noise reduction claim. $200 a night to listen to that and not sleep. Poor on street parking around area (only 15" in street. Go to Live Eat nearby and get a better breakfast for a lot less. Tip - Fri and Sat and Sun parking $2 flat about 250 metres up road in council multi-storey park. Room was double Queen Standard , friendly staff and clean, positive is that block out curtain actually means that (how many hotel owners have ever stayed in their light flooded rooms to check that issue out- Novotel seem to have). Didn't do restaurant as not everyone wants to eat Asian-fusion-infusion-confusion-confucius all the time. Try Molly Malones Irish up the road or Valentino's a little on up the hill (Best Street).
So save money on parking and breakfast and spend it on a better lunch for once. Maybe google night clubs before booking - wish we had..............................
PS partial relief and noise cancellation - put 10 hours rain sounds on You Tube and turn screen brightness down- wont cure nightclubitis but will reduce severity. Later.

A great location let down by average service. While recognising that many of the staff are new the overall service was average in comparison to other Novotel hotels.
One of my key complaints was the parking. For the first two days they had no on site parking so I ended up in the Cinema carpark opposite. When I finally go a car park pass they had to have two attempts to get me an access card. When I finally did gate access the only remaining spot was inaccessible to my rental 8 seat van due to the limited area to reverse either out or in. Eventually I gave up..........and they charge $20 per night for the privilege. When you build a new hotel these days it would be good to have facilities that are fit for purpose.

I have never understood why hotels put two queen beds in a room for a couple staying - it just seems pointless. A nice sofa to sit on would be way better! Room was very basic and soulless - a couple of beds, small table and cupboard.. The hotel with parking at an additional cost of $25 as you couldn’t park your own car was another annoying attribute. Should have stayed in an Airbnb!

Not happy with service or check in. Was charged for room then told the parking garage was full and I would have to find my own park somewhere at a multistory carpark in town. As an older single woman traveling alone I was then told I could unload my luggage in the five minute parking bay out front, take it up to my room and then come back and move my car elsewhere. The card I was given would not work in the lift so had to go back to the front desk and get new ones made. The room is very small with a tiny fridge and looks out over rooftops. For a premium price for a small city this hotel is very poor value for money.

Wow, what a lovely hotel to stay at. Reception check-in went smoothly. Car parking is $25 valet. Room size is reasonable. We were given a handicapped room, larger bathrooms, and beds are a little lower. I think it's an interconnecting room, with a table and chair, in front of it. Nice big window to see the Spirit of Tasmania come and go. Everything in the room was functional. Lovely fresh room. Went for dinner at Mr Good Guy. Asian influence. The chef Binoe was outstanding. I'm not sure what you would have if you didn't like Asian food? Definitely would stay here again.
