Detailed Reviews
Such a cosy warm place to stay and a very convenient position. We booked this motel room last minute and the owner was really lovely and helpful. We arrived late and the heater was on, the room was warm, the bed was well appointed with comfortable pillows, linen, doonas, weighted blankets and the bed itself was extremely comfortable. The separate spacious lounge room was great, with recliner rocker chairs and a good sized TV. The coffee machine was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was included in the room cost and was great value, and was served in the adjoining cafe inclusive of full breakfast and drinks. The room was very clean and a great view out into the park lands and water. We will definitely be back here again next time we hit Davenport.

My one-night stay at the Dannebrog Lodge in Devonport was made very enjoyable by the friendly hosts. A good hot breakfast was included in the price and I enjoyed plenty of great coffees there, chatting with the hosts. Location is very pleasant, with a beautiful coastal walk to Devonport Bluff on one side, and a short walk to the CBD, restaurants, and the Redline bus stop in the other direction. The room and bed were comfortable. Very good value. Recommended.

It seems much harder generally to find a reasonably priced twin room when booking at short notice so I was relieved to find this room. For Devonport I believe that it was good value. Given a previous review I was careful using the tap in bathroom basin and it was fine. It was actually easier to fill the kettle with than with a normal tap. The shower was warm with good pressure. There was a map of Tasmania on the wall which was useful. I liked the coffee machine and the bed was quite comfortable. It was quiet at night during my stay. I had a lovely chat with the new owner Eileen (sorry if I have wrong spelling). She explained that she was a new owner, having only been there for a month, and was working on making improvements. So do not get confused by old reviews or descriptions. It was a very good location, in walking distance of the beach or the shops.

Nice location. Unfortunately, the property is up for sale. Rarely a good sign.
The thing that pissed me off the most is the waterfall faucet in the bathroom. The owner did not warn me that when I turned it on it would shoot water over the front edge of the sink, soak the front of my pants, my shoes, and the floor between it and the toilet. What. The. F. Really??!!? The control to turn the water on was so stiff that it was quite a challenge to keep it from happening again. That, and the fact that the faucet itself was coming loose from the sink. That the control was in such bad condition and that the owner did not provide any warning about it drenching me and the bathroom with water is completely unacceptable.
The room (#10) was nice, but be warned that the room next door (#9), which is much like an adjacent bedroom in a house, shares the same thin wall and, for some reason, they've decided to butt the heads of the beds in each room against the same wall. So you're sleeping inches away from the head of the guest in the next room.
In my case, that guest snored all night. They might as well have been sleeping in my room.
Thermostat control did nothing to control the temperature in the room.
Called the proprietor a bit after 3 pm to ask for a possible to-go box for breakfast the next morning as I was leaving right as they start serving. Got their answering machine, left a message, never heard back from them.
Would not stay here again.

This accommodation was perfect for out planned brief stay after travelling in Tasmania before catching the morning ferry back to Melbourne. Hosts very kindly provided kettle for heating water for our thermoses, accommodated us for an additional night at very short notice when our ferry travel was delayed by port closure, and making frequent friendly inquiries about our comfort. The property provided very convenient parking and was an easy walk to city and waterfront destinations for shopping, dining and sightseeing, and close proximity for ferry boarding. The riverfront dining room was wonderful for a sunny breakfast and friendly chat with other guests. Highly recommend.

The lodge was very comfortable and well priced with hosts allowing my entry and exit at all hours for my work.
I would recommend Dannebrog Lodge to everyone. Even the other guests were very convivial in the breakfast dining room.

We have workers travelling over from Melbourne to Devonport via Spirit Of Tasmania and came across this amazing place to stay overnight before continuing on the next day. Dannebrog Lodge is definately value for money. The Hosts are warm, welcoming and very accommodating. Our workers loved their stay, said the rooms were great and the breakfast was amazing. We now always book when we are needing accommodation in Devonport and would highly recommend anyone else needing accommodation to do the same. You won't be sorry - 10/10

We stayed for one night prior to our trip on the ferry to Melbourne. The lodge is located about 5 or so minutes from the ferry terminal so this suited us well.
We were able to park on site and self check in was easy due to the instructions we received beforehand.
On entering the building you get a sense of a large and comfortable home which is loved and enjoyed. There were some minor renovations and maintenance being undertaken but these didn’t impact greatly on the overall quality of the accommodation.
The room and en-suite were clean and the bed was very comfortable. A fan was provided if required and the tv reception was good for all channels.
We slept well and enjoyed a very good, freshly cooked breakfast with a great cup of coffee the following morning. The owners are friendly and laidback. That said they take their business very seriously and welcome any feedback.
I would recommend Dannebrog Lodge to anyone looking for fuss free, clean and comfortable accommodation

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Dannebrog Lodge. Check in was easy and the room was very good. It is in a great location right alongside the Mersey River and a great spot for a morning walk along the esplanade. But what really makes this place however, is the home cooked breakfast and the hosts, who are especially friendly and efficient. It was a pleasure to stay here and when we're back in Devonport, we'll do it again, if only to have a coffee (great little coffee shop) and a chat with the owners (and the locals)...

The room was hot, air cooler not aircon was inefficient hot air was blowing back into the room thru the funnel, pillows too soft and flat, bath towels small and stiff not soft and fluffy. Not value for money. The only pros:Clean room and large bathroom, easy checkin, nice walking path along the coast, 10 min walk to centre
