Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic location near the entrance to the National Park. The receptionist was welcoming and other staff fantastic. The standard room was large and well appointed but smelt very musty as you walked in the door. Breakfast had a great selection. Free laundry and laundry powder was appreciated. Bar snacks great. I don’t like being negative but the only downside was the young man on the bar (think his name was Zaiden). All in our party found him to be surly and sarcastic, he really seems to be in the wrong job. Didn’t see him smile once. Such a shame.

Very comfortable beds, warm rooms, communal lounges with open fireplaces. Easy access to the visitors centre and devils @ cradle. Full buffet breakfast was awesome. A relaxing drink in the bar by the fire negated the weariness of the days activities.

Spent one night on the 9th of Nov 23 to have a look around Cradle Mountain National Park. On arrival I was greeted by the smiling Amy and Charlie who explained the hotel and surrounding area attractions and even checked online for any tours that might be available the next day. We had a room at the back side of the hotel that was split level with an outlook into the bush. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent and I even had a few games of snooker with my wife. (I won 2/0 but she always wins at mini golf) You are not to far from Cradle Mountain National park and tours buses will pick you up at the door. We asked Amy and Charlie for a later check that was not a problem but we didn't end up using. Highly recommended Ron and Anne X.

Located a couple of minutes by car from the Visitor Center of the National Park, this hotel is highly recommended! Comfortable rooms (our had a large bath, too), nice lounges, pleasant restaurant and very nice staff. The atmosphere at night is incredible. You feel in another world when you step outside and walk on the path between the two lounges. Breakfast was good and is included usually in the price.

Our room was very spacious, well presented & clean. Our room was near one of the lounge areas with a fireplace which was very convenient & comfortable to catch up with friends & fellow travellers. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was included & The staff were wonderful & very helpful. We were lucky to have stayed here when there was a large snowfall & the staff were wonderful giving us the most up to date directions for a safe onward journey plus the staff member who scraped off all the snow from our car so we could get inside was the best. The hotel is only 4 mins drive from the visitors centre where the buses run to Dove lake (free with your Parks Pass)

Apparently there are only 65 days a year when the weather is flawless in Cradle Mountain, and we didn't strike it on one of those days, with sleet, snow, rain and driving wind over freezing temperatures being the order of the day. So we sought the comfort of our hotel earlier than we might have otherwise. The reception we received could not have been warmer, with an early check-in and an upgrade - big shout out to Charlie on the desk! Our room was spotlessly prepared, and had a lovely outlook into the bush from the dedicated lounge area. The bed was one of the best we slept in in our time in Tasmania, and the open log fires scattered throughout the hotel made for a very cosy and comfortable ambience. We dined in the hotel's restaurant that night, and the food and service was exceptional. The hotel is located quite close to the Cradle Mountain Visitors Centre if you want to brave the weather and check out the various walks in the National Park - a very beautiful wilderness area.

Cradle Mountain lodge was a wonderful family experience. There was no shortage of beautiful scenery and wombats roaming around the grounds! You can spot wombats on many of the walks or just in the gardens going from the tavern to your room. The cabins are warm, well kept and spacious. The electric fireplace is easy to use and has a beautiful ambiance, only missing touch would be some nice bathrobes and slippers! Parking at the front of your cabin is great when travelling with kids and lots of luggage. Very kid friendly, our ground had 3 babies under 1 and we found it easy (cots set up on request). Breakfast was simple but had everything you need (hot selection, fresh fruit, good coffee) Staff were friendly and helpful with explaining how the lodge is set out. The tavern was great for dinner, laid back and big meals. Would recommend getting there early or getting in line when you arrive as it gets very busy. We did 2 of the walks and recommend the enchanted walk for an easy option with lots to see. The main walks are boardwalks so it’s fairly easy and you don’t need much gear. We did 2 walks carrying babies in carriers and it was easy. Overall loved the lodge and will definitely come back!

We stayed here for 1 night and had a great deal with the NRMA membership including breakfast and $100 cash back on food and drink. Reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Room was clean. Bathroom could do with a refurbishment. Bar and restaurant areas were lovely with views over the bush.
