Really enjoyed staying at the Cradle Mountain lodge. The rooms were large and comfortable although the fake) fire with real wood was a bit misleading The location is fabulous with all the Cradle Mountain walks within easy reach. The restaurant was excellent both food and service. The Tavern was also very good. Breakfast buffet was as expected from Peppers really...

It is quite a while since I stayed at Cradle Mountain Lodge. It was not a Peppers then. What a shame. They have improved the rooms BUT there was no housekeeping to speak of. There were piles of dust and dirt in the 4 corners of the bathroom which were there when we arrived and when we left 3 days...

We stayed for one night here. We had a chalet which was quite reasonable. As you might expect from a rural mountain lodge things are a bit basic but very acceptable. The dining arrangements were a bit "canteen" and the lounge felt a bit like a creche for older children on the evening we were there. A good base to...

With family over from the UK, we had 3 different room types, a 2 bedroom family suite which was completely self contained, a spa suite in the old style decor, and a more modern pencil pine cabin. The 2 bedder, room 30, was fine for our needs, spacious and clean, but nothing to make you go wow. The other 2...

We were lucky enough to book two spa rooms at the resort with short notice and we were so glad we did. Rooms were comfortable and well presented. The local wildlife was awesome with the biggest Wombats we had ever seen. Great location from which to explore Cradle Mountain. Dinner and breakfast we also good at the main restaurant.

We stayed here for one night. We paid for the pencil pine cabin, but on arrival were upgraded to the spa suite. The room was spacious, clean and had little extra luxury details such as complimentary cookies, plunger coffee and a bottle of port with a sign saying to have a complimentary glass. Must be very nice in winter with...

Cradle Mountain Lodge is situated in a great location and was an easy choice to return here. Highlights include the abundant local wildlife everywhere on the property which delighted our children, the choice of dining options (bistro or restaurant), available activities (including quad biking, guided walks, canoe tour and horse riding) and the number of walking tracks on or close...

We stayed 2 nights in the Pencil Pine Cabins. At first we thought the cabin was the staff accommodation quarters as it looked very average from the outside but once inside the cabin was very spacious and clean apart from the cobwebs on the outside of the windows. There was no TV or Wi-Fi or air conditioner only a gas...

This is a great place to stay if you love nature and being close to a beautiful national park. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the area and the helpfulness of the staff. The walks around the lodge were really enjoyable and well marked as well as being very user friendly.

We enjoyed our stay in the Pencil Pine Cabins after spending a few nights in free camps/ caravan parks in our hired camper van. We spent the day of our stay hiking up to Marion's Lookout so we were grateful for a hot and high pressure shower after a big day climbing! We also had dinner at the lodge which...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is a unique wilderness experience, set right on the edge of the spectacular World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, just 2 hours drive from Launceston and 1.25 Hours from Devonport. At Cradle Mountain, you'll soon discover that fine food and wine are an unavoidable part of this rustic holiday. This superb escape showcases the best Tasmania has to offer with warm hospitality, sensational locally produced food and wine, breathtaking scenery and magnificent wilderness surrounds. The Lodge itself is warm and inviting with open fires, comfy chairs and cosy spots, perfect for enjoying the postcard views or just relaxing. Around Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge there are more than 20 walking trails that suit every fitness level. Imagine wandering through towering forests with trees older than mankind. Discover animal and plant varieties found nowhere else on earth. You can trek mountains, explore trails on horseback or mountain bike, and learn to fly-fish - just some of the many activities on offer. And when it's time to relax, guests can indulge in a therapeutic massage or sauna at the Waldheim Alpine Spa - the perfect place to soak away tension and time. Set discreetly within its pristine wilderness setting, Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge has 86 private timber cabins, offering 4 grades of accommodation. Each provides every comfort you could need, some with spa baths. Road Closures: There are a number of road closures around Tasmania at the moment that are affecting accessibility to Cradle Mountain. The Kimberley bridge in between Elizabeth town and Railton on the B13 is closed until further notice as the bridge has collapsed. The C138 from Mole Creek to Gowrie Park is inaccessible as the road has been closed due to the recent flooding. The C137 however from Mole Creek through Paradise just outside of Sheffield is open and a good way to bypass around the closures.
