We were almost put off by negative reviews, but thank goodness we stayed. Yes, the restaurant is expensive for the food quality served but the roaring fire made us feel homely, warm and comfortable. The views are outstanding and it is a handy stop over on the run from the West to Hobart. The wifi is non existent but I... More

We stayed at the Lake St Clair Lodge Wilderness Suite. The suite was cosy and had a fireplace, kitchenette and jacuzzi bath. The location of the lodge is very close to Lake St Clair so you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake. The Lake St Clair National Park Visitor Centre is also at the Lodge so you can... More

The weather was cold & wet but the welcome was warm & helpful. Our bungalow was very comfortable in a lovely setting. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the two nights we stayed, but the cafe menu was good all the same.

I took my mother here for breakfast before a bushwalk. When I ordered I couldn't understand the waiter, the whole place looked like it was run by foreigners. I had the big breakfast and mum had the porridge. My toast was barely toasted, the tomato looked old, my baked beans tasted like they were from a tin and my egg... More

I'm just reviewing about the bistro/cafe that was attached to this lodge. A friend and I just finished the Overland Track so naturally needed a good cup of coffee and some proper meal after 6 days of bushwalking and package food. I have never met any ruder cashier/maitre d' in my life. Nevermind I was waiting at the counter to... More

Our Chalet was fantastic, very modern, clean and comfortable. There is a good sized kitchen but there are no grocery stores nearby so you would have to be organised and bring in any food that you wanted to prepare. If you were staying for any length of time the menus at the restaurant and cafe would become a bit repetitive,... More

Booked and pre-paid for an unpowered campsite. 1) took a while to realise we had to check in at a reception desk in the restaurant. A note to this effect in the booking confirmation would be helpful. Spent a while wandering around the tourist park looking for signage or office. 2) we have a little camper and are self-sufficient. The... More

Stayed for a night at the St Clair lodge. Gentleman who booked us in was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. He was working on a sponsored visa and had spent the last six months exploring the local area. He was very pleasant and enthusiastic and made the booking process easy. Location was fabulous. Went for an evening... More

We stayed for one night after completing the Overland Track. The cabin cost around $210 which is expensive although you really do get a fantastic place to stay with clean rooms, warm heater and most importantly after doing the Overland Track, a shower! The cabin was quiet at night. Laundry does cost $4 for washing and $4 for drying with... More

It was beautiful to wake up and go for an early morning walk around the park. My friends and I stayed in a powered site for the night. If you are travelling here I would recommend not going at night, there was heaps of animals on the road and it was very slow going. Be mindful in the camp sites... More
