We stayed at the Lake St Clair Lodge for 1 night when passing through from Strahan to Hobart for a quick 1 day hike. The weather was quite bad so we delayed our hike and went to the lodge restaurant for lunch, the food was ok but nothing special. We were also disappointed that the restaurant was closing at 5pm... We stayed here for one night and wished that we planned another. Wonderful location nestled amongst the trees. Accommodation very comfortable and plenty of space. Ability for bush walk straight from your accommodation was appealing. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Staff very friendly but coffee was average though.

I will say that my stay in Tasmania has been brilliant mainly because of Lake St Clair Lodge. The level of comfort and satisfaction has been beyond expectation. We (group of 6) stayed in the wilderness suite + connecting guestroom. Every night, we are greeted with playful possum, wallaby and milky way. For nature-lovers, this place is a paradise. It... We had a cabin right beside the lake. And arrived to our cabin with the fire already on and the lights on which made us feel very welcome. We visited in winter but the sub zero temperatures weren't a problem inside our cabin. The heating was more than adequate and the cabins must be insulated as they held the heat... More

We stayed in one of the self-contained cottages for two nights, then switched to a cheaper room for the last night. We called to book quite late (~5pm) and then arrived about 6pm on the same day. On first entering the room (32) it smelled strongly of room freshener. But after putting that outside in the mud room, it was... More

First impressions were not good, a huge disappointment when checking in, so much so that I asked to be given another room. The start of our stay was not looking good but soon improved after we paid for an upgrade and was given a lakeside spa room. I had booked a Studio Lake Side room but was given studio 19... More

The drive to the lodge was challenging, including long patches of gravel roads, but the effort was worth it. We stayed in a very well-appointed clean cabin with microwave, fridge teapot and utensils. slippers and bathrobes provided for a cozy, if not luxurious stay. It rained for a full day of our 3 1/2 day stay and we were unable... More

It is along drive to get here but well worth the effort. Our cabin was new and looked out over the lake. It was very comfortable with a small but well equipped kitchen and a nice lounge/dining room. The bedroom was quite big and the bed extremely comfortable. The restaurant/ bar is expensive but if you stock up on groceries... More

We drove into Derwent Bridge needing a powered site and were informed by locals of Lake St Clair. Wow, its out of season and very quiet but we were warmly welcomed by the staff who were super friendly and hospitable and served us dinner even though it was close to closing time! The staff looked like they were from the... More

We were almost put off by negative reviews, but thank goodness we stayed. Yes, the restaurant is expensive for the food quality served but the roaring fire made us feel homely, warm and comfortable. The views are outstanding and it is a handy stop over on the run from the West to Hobart. The wifi is non existent but I... More
