From the moment you pull up at the front of Ivy on Glenelg you realise you’re in for a treat. The whitewashed walls of this 1830’s house are framed by a well cared for cottage garden. Just adding to the charm. David - the owner - greeted us warmly and showed me to my huge suite. Bedroom, living room, kitchen and dinning. Everything was perfect and reflected the utter charm of the building’s history. I was in Campbell Town for work. My colleagues suite was equally divine. Home baked goods complemented by breakfast staples and a coffee machine. It truly felt like I was given the keys to a friends place. It certainly beats the usual sterile hotel room. Sleep quality was amazing - and the wifi speed fast. There was nothing not to love. And lots of reasons to go back.

From the moment you walk in, it's like (for us anyway) like arriving home - we felt immediately comfortable and were able to relax. Our hosts were very informative and friendly even making dinner venue suggestions. Our accommodation was very well set out, self contained with kitchen facilities, lots of crockery - plenty of food and lovely home made yoghurts and cookies. Can't speak highly enough. The town itself was a bit thin of things to experience but we were only there for the one afternoon.

One of the greatest Bed n Breakfast anywhere. Great feast of breakfast items and free range eggs to cook in full size kitchen. This is a loveingly renovated old stone cottage with period authentic touches and decor. David the host exceptionally friendly and made sure we were comfortable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This place is a real treat. From the moment you arrive, it's obvious how much care goes into the place and how much thought has gone into all of the little extras. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. I had a very comfortable night and will definitely be back one day

Flooding meant we had to change our plans at the last minute. What a blessing that turned out to be. This is a gorgeous place, incredibly well stocked and owner couldn't have been more friendly it helpful. Thanks David. The bedding, including all the pillows, were wonderful. Breakfast was included, home grown tomatoes and free range eggs, so many teas, coffees, pasta, oven, washing machine, filtered water ...... Too much to mention.

Stayed here for one night and we had the Dry Cottage. It was a lovely room and had everything we required for our stay. Even though you are in one room, there was plenty of space and very warm and cozy. We were able to cook our own meals and there was plenty of extras for you all to use. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly.

David & Irene are simply the most charming hosts. Fabulous communication, caring, helpful, just as good as it gets.
So naturally, I had high expectations for the accom, and was not disappointed. Comfortable, spacious, Very well appointed with everything you could possibly need.

Stayed in the Tuscan Room. This place is great. We stayed previously and enjoyed it, second time around just as good. The hosts David & Irene make sure you have everything and are comfortable. Even bathrobes are the softest & bed is super comfortable! Breakfast is amazing, highlight is the Tassie yoghurt! Would highly recommend

I am not a review writer but wanted to give one this time. While you would classify the property as a B&B, it is unique among the ones we've experienced. We stayed there on a Sunday night a couple of weeks ago. While we never met Irene, David was a fantastic host and a great guy. He helpfully booked us into dinner in town, which was a short walk away. We stayed in the Turnbull Suite and it was totally self-contained with everything you could possibly need (and many things that you never thought you needed but could use anyway). Rather than cook you breakfast in the morning, David and Irene provide everything you need right in your room - from a well-set table to fresh muffins, yummy pre-made yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice, a Nespresso-style machine, etc., plus farm fresh eggs (from the chickens that are right out back) that you can cook yourself in the small kitchen provided in the suite (we chose to hard boil ours). It was almost as easy as walking through a buffet line to assemble your meal. You don't need to clean up - just pop your dishes in the included dishwasher and they will take care of the rest. The property covers a couple of acres and includes an interesting array of animals in the back - sheep, alpacas, chickens and other birds, all of which are considered pets. I spent some time back there talking to them and most nodded politely. None of them disturbed us during the night. The building is one of the oldest in that part of Tasmania. We told David that we planned to leave early the next morning, but we didn't get on the road until almost 10 because we wanted to soak things in a bit longer. I'll bet that happens a lot. I don't know if we will ever get back to Campbell Town, but this is where we will stay if we do.

Thank you Paul N for your review. It was our pleasure to host you for your brief stay, we are extremely pleased you found your apartment to be comfortable and had everything you needed. We try to retain the olde world charm but supply all the mod-cons. Yes, our guests do tend to overstay their departure, we call it sleeping sickness as it is so quiet and guests are not disturbed. We love our animals, all of them, and sharing our home with our guests. Thank you for staying with us, we hope you enjoyed your visit to Tasmania.

And what lovely guests you guys were, sharing some stories and a beautiful Bay of Fires sparkling wine. It was a pleasure to have you as guests. The Alpacas also enjoyed you.
