We were camping in the camp grounds near the lake and walked up to the Inn for lunch. The atmosphere was great, staff very friendly and the food was well cooked pub food at very modest prices, the steaks were superb! Will definitely return.

We were a group of ten, including six Japanese visitors to Tasmania. We've been here often but wanted our family guests to enjoy the good steaks that have become well known at Lake Leake Inn. The food didn't disappoint, despite the fact there has been a change of owners, they seem to be keeping up with the standard and prices...

Stopped in for coffee and hot chocolates. Hot chocolates were voted OK but the coffees were diabolical. Fortunately we had to drink inside, because outside was for smokers. We didn't consider eating at the bar.

We stayed at quite a few hotels during our travel through Tasmania, We have stayed in a number of hotels through our extensive travels around the globe, and Lake Leak Inn is by far my favourite. For the price you pay and being a pub I thought we would be doing it rough honestly and didn't have high expectations but...

It is not going to suit everyone, but we were absolutely enchanted by the location (a pristine lake in the wilderness just an hour or so from Launceston). Original place, a bar filled with gentle country characters, comfortable rooms (shared bathrooms but honestly, no concern as it is quiet and very clean and not many uuests). We arrived late, and...

This wonderful country pub/ hotel is about 40 km from Swansea, and just up from Lake Leake. A very popular fishing spot so I've heard. We have been coming up to this hotel for about 12 years and we are never disappointed with the wonderful service, the great food and the very comfy rooms. The staff are so friendly and...

Lake Leake Inn is exactly what it sets out to be: a friendly country pub with clean, comfortable rooms, hearty pub-style meals and a genuine, hospitable atmosphere. With a dash of quirky, Tasmanian rural charm, Lake Leake Inn provided us with a great weekend experience .... we've already booked a return visit!

First up, this is a country pub off the beaten track in rural Tasmania. If you're expecting some gourmet, latte-sipping experience in tight black t shirts then you're going to be disappointed. It is what it is and all the better that there still are such authentic places still around. An honest Aussie country pub with locals that are as...

We were after a stop-over before heading further east, and this inn was just perfect. Warm fires, friendly patrons and locals, pool table and an awesome T-Bone steak with mushroom sauce for dinner, sided with some well priced local wine. Exactly what we needed!

Stayed 1 Jan 2016. Hotel is way out of main road and need to drive a long way on totally dark road. We booked for a room on New Year day and full paid online - therefore guarantee the room. On arrival around 9 p.m., we were told that there is no room. The owner tried to get us a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lake Leake Inn is an old fashioned inn well over one hundred years old with lots of history about her; in the 1900's the government built an accommodation house at the lake which is now the Inn, we are about 150m back from Lake Leake. We are a good base for fishing or walking holidays as the lake is very good for trout fishing and we also have some lovely walks close by. ... more   less
