We stayed at the Ikon twice on a recent trip to Tasmania. The first night we were lucky to be upgraded to the most beautiful room, views of the Strait, luxuriously appointed and great concierge service. The second time, we had an "ordinary" room. It was still beautiful. Can't recommend this little gem highly enough.

What a tremendous place to stay ! Beautifully appointed modern rooms in a classic old building. We stayed in a spa suite which was wonderful , we also had a lovely balcony with ocean views . The Ikon is in the heart of Burnie so you can walk to all the local restaurants & beach front. Owner & staff are... More

To be honest I wasn't expecting much from Burnie as the town seemed stuck in a time warp, - but what an amazing place the Ikon Hotel is. We stayed for only 1 night (room 4) and a friend stayed in her own room (room 8 from memory). From the start the welcome was lovely and warm. Unfortunately I've forgotten... More

As soon as they realised we were going to get there fairly late they offered to have dinner waiting for us. It was the best first impression of a hotel I have ever had. The room was very large with great facilities. We chose to use the back stairs for access to our room as there is no lift so... More

High ceilings, spacious rooms and lovely decor in this converted pub. Lovely in-room spa and comfortable bed too. However, odd access through restaurant downstairs and although staff were helpful it sometimes was hard to find them.

Enjoyed the accommodation in Burnie, older style of building with plenty of history but inside was well renovated. Plenty of room with a lounge area at one end, bed area the other and bathroom fridge area in between. No air conditioning given the heritage value of the building however you can open the windows and there is a small fan.... More

The Ikon Hotel is in a fabulous heritage listed building right in the centre of Burnie. The owner has done an amazing job of restoring the building. Our rooms were extremely spacious and very comfortable, with the exception of the bed. It takes a bit of getting used to the Tempur Memory Foam beds, you can sink very deep into... More

- the king studio was enormous - quality furnishings and fitout - dual shower - spotlessly clean - there is no onsite reception/front desk but they are very organised which means it is no issue; secure building - small car park - we were lucky to get a park - great location, close to the boardwalk and all amenities -...
