Floor and window furnishings are old and seem unclean.
Quiet rooms & room staff are doing their best with what they have to work with.
I got charged $140 for minibar which I didn’t use at all and no communication or invoice received before debiting my card.
I called and challenged it as I always photograph the mini bar on checkin and out.
After numerous calls they acknowledged the room number was misinterpreted.
It’s a fantastic location right across from the beach but requires modernising.

I was fortunate to have been upgraded from a standard room to an Ocean View room, which was VERY MUCH appreciated. Lovely view and very pleasant to sit on the balcony and watch the goings-on along the waterfront.
Traffic past the Inn is one-way and light, so not noise intrusive.
Will be booking to stay here again, when I next stay in Burnie.

The Motel is directly overlooking the beach and has an inner courtyard parking area.
We had booked a Seaview Executive Suite which, whilst not luxurious, was comfortable and clean, and we thought reasonable value for money at $189 for the night. What made this different from the average motel was the view from our room balcony, which directly overlooked the sandy beach and ocean. The balcony was furnished with a table and two chairs, and we were able to enjoy sitting there with a bottle of wine watching the school children having after-school surfing lessons.
There is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel reception, where we had breakfast but it was not particularly good, and we were glad that we had chosen to eat the previous evening at the "Fish Frenzy" restaurant directly across the road from the motel and overlooking the beach. The fish and chips were excellent as was the wine served by the glass.
We were glad that we had booked the Beachfront Voyager and enjoyed our brief stay there.
Room 7 was a standard motel room, not what I was expecting from an Executive Suite. As I pre booked and stayed for a week, I wondered why I wasn’t allocated one of the better rooms at that price. The bathroom needs an upgrade, and the bedroom would be more comfortable without the extra bed. Some simple improvements could be replacing the mismatched wire and various other hangers, the amenities were the cheapest possible comprising two shampoos and tiny soap bars, and Bushell’s tea bags didn’t impress.
I may have felt more loved had the weekday reception staff ever acknowledged me. I was surprised that neither of them ever looked up from their screen when I walked past the desk. Isn’t Rule One of hospitality to smile and offer an appropriate greeting? I seemed invisible.
On the day we were to arrive the premises tried to call me and found the number they had was not connected. Again my mistake as I must have typed it wrong. I make no excuse for my mistakes.
When they couldn’t ring me they waited and much later in the day/evening emailed me to which I responded by phone call straight away. They should have sent the email as soon as they found out they couldn’t contact me by phone.
They told me the6 were full that night and had turned people away so they charged me one nights accomodation for something I didn’t use. They would have still had time to book out that room if they had so many enquires.
We have been in Tasmania 10 nights now and every other accomodation I have booked has emailed me 2 days before saying my stay is coming up. We have never missed one of them and it certainly isn’t in my nature to book something and not turn up. I asked the accomodation to reconsider and even meet me half way. Their answer was “ we will not reconsider , we were fully booked.” They also said if they weren’t full booked they wouldn’t have charged. And it was over $200 per night.
This has left a sour taste in my mouth. We have had a death in the family which has left my brain a little frazzled so I’m not trying to say I didn’t make this mistake. I just wish people would be more understanding of others circumstances.
Very very disappointed
