The Beachfront Voyager Motor Inn appears to be a hit for its prime location, just a stone's throw away from the beach, and its cleanliness, which receives consistent commendation from guests. The staff's friendliness is often highlighted, although there are occasional mentions of variable service quality. Travelers are divided on the rooms; while some rave about the cleanliness and stunning sea views, others find them dated and not quite up to the mark. The hotel's atmosphere and amenities, including comfortable beds, are generally well-received, but opinions on value for money and room conditions show that experiences can vary.

Needs a thorough deep clean inside and outside.
Floor and window furnishings are old and seem unclean.
Quiet rooms & room staff are doing their best with what they have to work with.
I got charged $140 for minibar which I didn’t use at all and no communication or invoice received before debiting my card.
I called and challenged it as I always photograph the mini bar on checkin and out.
After numerous calls they acknowledged the room number was misinterpreted.
It’s a fantastic location right across from the beach but requires modernising.

Balcony view wonderful. However the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. The shower head is old and spits at you. The height of shower head is for a person that is 7foot tall. I’m average height. Stand on my toes, to pull it down. Water saving shower head would be better including height adjustable. The toilet is an inch away from the shower screen, the suction toilet roll holder is close, you knock off the toilet roll. I’m a small person of average height… perhaps the Management and staff, need to make use of the facilities to see what I’m talking about. My caravan bathroom has more room..Overall, everything you need to for a stay in Burnie.

Great location, close to the CBD, restaurants and cafes. It's also right on the well-developed waterfront.

I was fortunate to have been upgraded from a standard room to an Ocean View room, which was VERY MUCH appreciated. Lovely view and very pleasant to sit on the balcony and watch the goings-on along the waterfront.

Traffic past the Inn is one-way and light, so not noise intrusive.

Will be booking to stay here again, when I next stay in Burnie.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2023. The motel is very well situated, located across from the beach, very close to pubs, coffee shops and a fish & chip shop. The rooms have been extensively refurbished (I had stayed here previously in 1985) with the bathroom having a great facelift. There is a restaurant attached if you don't wish to leave the premises and a pub next door, with undercover access about 90% of the distance. The rooms are very cosy, including a King size bed, small couch, computer desk and a small table with chair. There is an onsite laundry which is moderately priced. Staff are helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Would recommend.

A night's stopover on our travels, and we were offered a free upgrade due to a recorded cleaner's comment, which we could not identify. We were offered beach front room with balcony and double glazed sliding doors. The trees on beach front were heavily flowered and full of lorikeets. The room and bed were very comfortable. Fantasric shower. Staff were amazing and couldn't have been any more accomodating. We extended our stay due location and outlook. Although an older complex the rooms have been refurbished and great value.

We had to get two rooms at this Motor Inn as they couldn't accommodate three individual adults with three beds in one room. Don't be fooled by the pictures unless you request a room with a sea view; you will probably look at a fence and a carpark, which is what we got. However, we were lucky enough to get two rooms side by side and on ground level too, with car parking right in front of our rooms, which was handy. The Motor Inn is a walk across the road to the beach and not far into town. Our rooms were adequate with comfy beds, the rooms were a little dirty including the cups and spoons had dried coffee stains with no real way to clean them, I had to use bar soap! However the bathrooms were clean but poorly designed, my bathroom had an open plan shower but put the pressure of the shower up too much and the water runs onto the bathroom floor and in my brother's bathroom the shower was in a bath, hard to get in and out and the toilet was in jammed in between the sink and shower, hard to use!! The staff were friendly, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed for dinner the night we were there, but breakfast was good in the morning with friendly, helpful staff. Overall, an adequate stay.

The location is amazing - directly across the road from the beach - well placed for those early morning walks. The staff are friendly and helpful + provide excellent food and service at the restaurant. The shops + restaurants are within easy distance - it is great place to stay!! To make the most of the beach location suggest booking the Sea View Executive Suite + Balcony overlooking Bass Strait.

We only stayed here for one night, and chose the Beachfront Voyager Motor Inn for its location, as we wanted to see a little of Tasmania's northern coastline after visiting Cradle Mountain.

The Motel is directly overlooking the beach and has an inner courtyard parking area.

We had booked a Seaview Executive Suite which, whilst not luxurious, was comfortable and clean, and we thought reasonable value for money at $189 for the night. What made this different from the average motel was the view from our room balcony, which directly overlooked the sandy beach and ocean. The balcony was furnished with a table and two chairs, and we were able to enjoy sitting there with a bottle of wine watching the school children having after-school surfing lessons.

There is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel reception, where we had breakfast but it was not particularly good, and we were glad that we had chosen to eat the previous evening at the "Fish Frenzy" restaurant directly across the road from the motel and overlooking the beach. The fish and chips were excellent as was the wine served by the glass.

We were glad that we had booked the Beachfront Voyager and enjoyed our brief stay there.

I stayed in Room 7. The bed is very comfortable and the maintenance and housekeeping staff were helpful and friendly, as was receptionist Cindi when I booked and departed. I tried to catch up with the manager on site and by phone as I would prefer to address negative comments directly but I couldn’t catch him.

Room 7 was a standard motel room, not what I was expecting from an Executive Suite. As I pre booked and stayed for a week, I wondered why I wasn’t allocated one of the better rooms at that price. The bathroom needs an upgrade, and the bedroom would be more comfortable without the extra bed. Some simple improvements could be replacing the mismatched wire and various other hangers, the amenities were the cheapest possible comprising two shampoos and tiny soap bars, and Bushell’s tea bags didn’t impress.

I may have felt more loved had the weekday reception staff ever acknowledged me. I was surprised that neither of them ever looked up from their screen when I walked past the desk. Isn’t Rule One of hospitality to smile and offer an appropriate greeting? I seemed invisible.

I booked this accomodation straight off their website in December for February. We since changed our itinerary and stayed elsewhere in Tasmania for those nights. I thought I had cancelled this booking as I have cancelled others. My mistake entirely.

On the day we were to arrive the premises tried to call me and found the number they had was not connected. Again my mistake as I must have typed it wrong. I make no excuse for my mistakes.

When they couldn’t ring me they waited and much later in the day/evening emailed me to which I responded by phone call straight away. They should have sent the email as soon as they found out they couldn’t contact me by phone.

They told me the6 were full that night and had turned people away so they charged me one nights accomodation for something I didn’t use. They would have still had time to book out that room if they had so many enquires.

We have been in Tasmania 10 nights now and every other accomodation I have booked has emailed me 2 days before saying my stay is coming up. We have never missed one of them and it certainly isn’t in my nature to book something and not turn up. I asked the accomodation to reconsider and even meet me half way. Their answer was “ we will not reconsider , we were fully booked.” They also said if they weren’t full booked they wouldn’t have charged. And it was over $200 per night.

This has left a sour taste in my mouth. We have had a death in the family which has left my brain a little frazzled so I’m not trying to say I didn’t make this mistake. I just wish people would be more understanding of others circumstances.

Very very disappointed
